Can I give them six stars?…read more After a wild boot loop saga began on my phone, I was worried a lot of my data I had amassed would be lost forever. I wasn't sure where to look, and out of the blue, I decided to do some googling and came across this country with, needless to say, a very appealing name! After looking into it, I saw a couple of fantastic things that were green flags immediately: 1. The reviews were glowing (and here's another one - and I never write anything). People seemed to love the company's mission, and I even read that the founder (more in a sec!) created the company just for that reason: he didn't feel people should pay an outrageous amount of money to get their data back. 2. Brian himself. What a guy. He was active on a bunch of forums, and you could tell he put together a small, dedicated team who really valued that people trusted them with their services. And Brian and his team saw me through a bunch of the chaos, answering a bunch of my questions, putting me at ease, and then - through the wonders of the US postal service - procured all of my data again. (I'm backing it up right now - and if you're reading this right now, back up your data too!!) So, yeah. This company is about as legit as it comes, and if you're looking for data recovery in any capacity, you've found the pinnacle in compassionate professionalism right here. Keep on keeping on, team! You're rocking it.

Choose these folks for your data recovery needs! I had two WD (called Western Digital when they…read moredrives were made) HDDs that I needed data from. I was unable to recover data from them in different ways. Disc one was an external drive that would not power on. I tried removing it from its external enclosure and powering it from another, more different enclosure to no avail. The system was indeed down. Disc two was an internal drive that used to be my C drive- my boot drive. I removed it from an old computer after it stopped booting and put it into an external enclosure. Several different computers (Mac & PC) would recognize it sporadically, though none could access the data on it- error codes always came up. Before I removed it, from the old computer, I tried booting from an optical disc and other assorted methods, many other assorted methods... I believe I was very thorough in my efforts. I sent both in and received near 100% recovery. They said it was 100% from one and 99.9% from the other but I am unable to find that .1%. I got all of this for just barely above the $300 price in their name (each, not total). So for about $600 total (including new discs on which my recovered data was transferred and return shipping) I got this incredible service. The total price I paid for both discs at 300DDR is less than I was quoted at several other places for one disc. At each step they were great communicators, from their receipt of the discs to my receipt of the recovered data. I hope I never need their services again but should, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I highly recommend them.

    The Device Lab

Let me share with you an awesome experience with the founder and owner of The Device Lab, Austin,…read morewho is calm, cool, collected, down to earth, and who impressed me so much that I feel compelled to share my story here. I would like to express my appreciation of Austin's professional ingenuity and get the word out that he is head and shoulder above Genius Bar in what he does-- device repair. Price is reasonable. Here is the quick story: Last Saturday (08-15-2026) I took my 2016 Apple MacBook Pro to Apple Genius Bar for diagnostic and repair, where I was received with utmost courtesy, waited there patiently for 1.5 hours, witnessed my computer given all kinds of diagnostic tactics by the receptionist, who did with all her earnest effort to revive it. Unfortunately I had to leave Genius Bar with the announcement that my MacBook Pro is "beyond repair." Unconvinced, I tried my luck on another store from online search and found The Device Lab, and Austin fixed it! Well, an old computer is an old computer and there is no need for much fuss or excitement about this triviality. But Austin left me with another impression: his sincerity and ability to do what he sets out to do, which is to repair. What can be cooler than a man who delivers his promise by doing what he likes and is good at? I spoke to Austin and found his business philosophy reasonable and truthful: doing what he likes, helping people, figuring out the cause of problem, getting things fixed without having to resort to replacement ( a favorite recommendation from big companies...). Behind this work ethic and principle is another guideline that directs his work: trust from his customers. I like that! O, by the way, there is another reason that urged me to write this review for Austin. He told me he started this company over a year ago, and I see in him what I had to go through back in 2004, when I started having my own tutoring center. I understand how a small business like his lives on word of mouth among customers, as it was with my own company. I also understand how negative comments tend to travel ten times faster than good, appreciative feedback. I think it is fair and natural that I share my thoughts with those who may be viewing his website for selection. One more thing: I live locally, and I love supporting local small business! I had such a great experience at The Device Lab! They fixed my daughter's iPhone 11 Pro screen and…read moreit works perfectly now. What really stood out to me was that they actually had the screen in stock, every other place I called had to order it and told me it would take a couple of days, plus they were quoting me $20-$40 more. Not only was The Device Lab able to do the repair the same day but their pricing was super fair. On top of that, the vibe of the shop is honestly amazing. The moment I walked in, I noticed how warm and welcoming everything felt. I even complimented the owner because it's so different from the typical plain, white-wall repair shops. It felt chic, cozy, and thoughtfully put together. Love how he immediately gave the credit to his wife, you can tell he is extremely proud of her work and rightfully so because I would hire her to make my business look as cute as The Device Lab. Great service, great pricing, and a beautiful space. highly recommend! Thank you again, I know my Daughter needs an upgrade but the IPhone 11 will do for now.
