Trying to help the community out by giving more info on this place! Nova has changed their name to "Prime Behavioral Health". My limited experience here has been okay-- the healthcare professional I had a telemedicine appointment with was clinical during her intake, not empathetic, but I didn't need a listening ear so it was fine. I missed my second appointment because they don't send you a text or email with a link to join-- after calling the office, I confirmed you use the original link from your first appointment-- except I don't remember being told that and every other doctor I've been to sends you a link for each telemedicine appointment. The admin assistant was furthermore rude when I explained my confusion with this system. There also is no way to you directly call or message your doctor - you need to leave a message with the front desk. For these two latter reasons (especially the rude staff), I would recommend going elsewhere. read more

I've been a patient at (Nova) now Prime since 1999. I know it's had its up's and down times, like most practices, but I've found that they really do care about their patients. I would recommend them to someone every time. They've always been there for me when I needed it, and I haven't found that to often in today's different health care facilities. First of all , i have been seeing my therapist for about 10 years at Nova and yes I always had a hard time getting them on the phone and sometimes the people were extremely rude but I had a wonderful doctor . Now I get a call saying I have an appointment tomorrow at 10 A.M. ? I knew nothing about that but I had to call and ask if we could do a phone call due to the fact that I have a very serious situation . my daughter has cancer and is in critical care unit and I need to be with her so I was hoping I could talk to the doctor and get the refills I need I was told that he retired !!!! they said they called me 4 times in April and that is a LIE I would have known if they called me and no one did I told this receptionist my story and said I will be out of medication in 3 days she said I have to get lab work done ?? what the hell ? and then gave me an appointment for May 16th !! what do I do in the meantime without my medications ! Everyone is so friendly here! The receptionist was very nice and very pleasant to talk to and schedule appointments over the phone. You just have to be very direct. Sean Harris is one of the nicest doctors and supervisors there. He really listens to you and makes you feel reassured and at ease. The office is very clean, although I think at one point in time, it probably used to be a building that people smoked in. There is a faint cigarette odor in the air. As a wife, mother and someone who REALLY cares about her family, please take it from me - do NOT go to this place. My husband started going here to treat his PTSD (with medication) and we quickly saw the red flags from the very beginning. The Quincy office receptionist is quite literally the worst human being we've ever met. She is rude, unkind, and incredibly unprofessional. My husband can NEVER reach Dr. Luxama, and is left having to pick up emergency pills at the pharmacy because Nova hasn't refilled his prescription yet. This is an ongoing issue every single month. For anyone who knows about a PTSD diagnosis, my husband HAS to be medicated in order to function properly. When he isn't, it's terrible for him and our family. I have been a patient here at nova for over 10 years. I was referred to this practice after have a neuro physc evaluation with the diagnosis of ADHD, ANXIETY, PTSD. Dr Accardi have given my muse ease along with therapy. Being with a practitioner who is honest caring and straight to the point it important in today's society and I'm pleased to say I was referred to the right one. Not only is Dr Accardi kind and compassionate she is the most selfless woman I have ever met and questions weather she even takes time off. I've experienced a revolving door of therapists. They change clinicians without warning. No chance to transition to a new person. I believe I've spoken with at least 10 therapists in 3 years. If you want some consistency, I don't think you'll find it here. I only continue to go here because I just need to get my antidepressants filled. These grifters had me as a patient for a short time last year. I saw Julian Maranin up until I had issues with my Medicare. The VA then attempted to contract an agreement to see Mr Maranin (who told me when I was briefly dropped by Medicare last year that I could call anytime and make an appointment and he's be happy to see me again), your staff drug their feet on the agreement. I called them last Thursday only to be told today, Monday, after never receiving a return call from your office, by the VA that they couldn't schedule an appointment and that I somehow knew why. I've been struggling. I had no idea what the VA was talking about. The VA called again to inform me that I can't make an appointment because of a $100 balance-which I was unaware of and could have paid in cash at my appointment. No worries though, I'll keep struggling with my mental health-the condition I am rated as disabled for. Julian was dishonest in that I can't just make an appointment and pay my balance I was unaware I even had. I'll just tell everyone I know that if you call Nova Psych and are struggling with your mental health, they don't care and won't help you. If I could rate your practice as a negative number I would. My therapist recommended Dr. Andrey Gagarin at this practice. It says for new patients to leave a message with April to be registered. After calling at least 2 times and leaving multiple voice mails April only called back once to attempt to reach me. I called back over and over and left more messages and no one has responded. You cannot get in touch with a human being here. Atrocious service and I haven't even gotten an appointment yet. From looking at the other horrific reviews I will not make any more efforts to become a patient at this practice. You would think a mental health practice would make a little more effort with patient communication, especially with a population that may be very much "in need" of medical services. A LAST RESORT ONLY I take no pleasure in this review but I would like to help steer people away from my own experiences. In my time there (well over a year) I connected with a fantastic therapist named Andrew Linberg. He was a tremendous help to me. To maintain our relationship I endured no end of frustrations with the Nova Psychiatric administrative staff: the waiting rooms were often over crowded. It is so difficult to reach anyone by phone that they LITERALLY have printed out a "cheat sheet" designed to help navigate their labyrinthine voice mail system, to no avail. Often times I would be overcharged for my copays because they were not accurately recorded in their logs resulting in HUGE past due bills and very unpleasant notices in the mail from them. Often times I would get into arguments with the receptionists over this and over their failure to remind patients 24 hours before their appointment is due, which is an advertised business practice of theirs resulting in 50$$ kill fees! The anxiety of that alone was almost overwhelming. They were two receptionists there, Crystal and April who worked during my time there. Out of every single person there, they were the only ones to show the kind of competence, care and personal accountability that would be essential in ANY professional environment but is particularly crucial in health care. Lastly, whilst Andrew was indeed a tremendous success; their psychiatric nurse practitioners (I do not believe they have any fully accredited psychiatrists on staff) were less so. They were at best overworked and uninformed, at worse they were negligent: either unable or unwilling to provide the kind of care that is necessary for my condition. Their inability to find a long term medical regime to treat my symptoms lasted for over a year before I simply have to give up. The last straw was when I attempted to contact my (now former) psychiatric nurse because I had been admitted to the Emergency Room at Beth Israel. Despite repeated attempts to reach her over e-mail (I had long since given up trying to reach anyone by phone) I was forced to fend for myself during a particularly harrowing time. Ultimately Andrew moved away to Framingham and I do not blame him. I am now a patient of Mass Bay Counseling which is located literally next door at 234 Copeland Street. They take all the same insurances Nova does, their offices are clean, spacious and well lit. Their administrative staff is both courteous and helpful and so far, I have comparable success with my new behavioral therapist and a significant upgrade in the service received from my psychiatric provider. Among places like Beth Israel and Mass Bay Counseling along with MGH Behavioral, Nova Psychiatric is regarded as a joke. Whenever I told people I was a patient of theirs, they immediately gave me a tremendous amount of sympathy laced with an equal amount of professional disdain. Now I understand why. They simply cannot provide the care necessary and do not appear particularly motivated to try. As long as this and other health care services follow the "assembly line" school of health care (as many patients as possible for as much money as possible regardless of the ability to treat them) I will have nothing kind to say about them. read more

We always go to Dr. Accardi and her support staff for the waiting room(s)are THE WORST. 4 years or more coming here and they are and have always been RUDE, UNKIND, DISORGANIZED... did I mention RUDE? Terrible building lay out! The door I entered around the front off Furnace Brook Parkway behind the parking lot- had no receptionist area to check into on the first floor, no security personnel either which is needed because of the two couches near the front entrance which could make it easy for anyone to just hang out in! Don't know if there is an area to check into!The receptionist who makes the appointments on the phone gave the wrong floor and I ended up on the incorrect one, not knowing which door to go to-the person I was seeing didn't have her name on the door with other people working there! Awful place to try to navigate around! Need to have someone available downstairs to direct people. Also, the therapist I saw was not too happy because I was late to the appointment (which is because of the above problems mentioned of no staff around that happened) and told me I needed to be on time for appointments! Was my first time there so being late would be unavoidable in my opinion! Only plus is the MBTA buses are right around the corner from the building! read more

First, I had an issue with Receptionist B.(first initial), at the Weymouth office. She had an attitude when I asked her about trying to get the prescription my psych just wrote that day, sent to my pharmacy as it hadn't initially gone through. A month goes by and I call the office again because it's half an hour past my telehealth appt time with my psych, and I was worried something happened. Receptionist B. tells me,"(psychs name)doesn't HAVE any appt with you." I told her; however, that I had spoken just days ago to my psych confirming this specific follow up appt day & time. She abruptly says, "No. And she's not even here today" I asked if I could leave a message(simple), and she repeats "She's not even here today". To which, I replied,"Then can I please leave a message for when she does come back?" With an attitude she says, "But she won't get it today." I further insisted to leave a message, "...for when she will get it, like the following week?" Finally she exclaims,"OK! I'll leave her a message! BYE!" And hangs up on me. So of course I tell my psych about it and she tells me to call the Quincy office instead, so I no longer need to speak with B., who now twice, has given me attitude over the phone. In the mean time, I started a trial run of a new medication, so I've been in contact with my psych. pretty frequently. A month goes by, I have another appt with my psych where she writes a new script; however again, CVS never receives it(now the 2nd time they haven't received a new script). So I call the Quincy office to leave a message about needing her to resend my new script. I Proceed to call and leave a message for her on her voicemail, every day for the next three days, until it's the weekend. And Now, I'm due to run out of my meds that Monday. Feeling left no other option, and Against my better judgement I call the Weymouth office, so I'm already stressed out. Receptionist A.M. answers. I think "great! At least it's not Receptionist B., this should be an improvement." So I begin to explain that for almost a week I've been trying to get in touch with my psych, leaving multiple messages at the Quincy office ("because I had an issue there (Weymouth) with one of the receptionists, and the psych told me specifically to call Quincy instead of Weymouth)and that I will run out of my medication tonight. A.M. says that no one is at the Quincy office, and my psych probably wasn't getting any of the messages, and why didn't I just call Weymouth? I had to repeat myself and again explain about having an issue with one of the receptionists there, and that (psychs name) told me to call Quincy instead, to get in touch. A.M. then abruptly says,"well then why are you getting SNIPPY with me???!!!" I was in shock and all I could say was "I don't really appreciate being called snippy." Then A.M. says,"Would you like me to use another word?!" I replied, "NO! I don't think so!" Then she says, "Im not going to be able to help you" and hangs up on me. So I call back immediately and it goes to voicemail. I now have literally NO WAY of reaching my psych to get this new prescription resent to my pharmacy. I think it's shameful how they work for a PSYCHIATRIC office and be so rude and unprofessional. Both of these receptionists have made me feel like my psychiatric care was/is being held hostage, not being able to call my own psychiatrists office. Btw, I have medications that if missed can cause seizures. Finding a new psych ASAP. And it's a shame because I really liked my psych. But it's not worth dealing with the unprofessionalism and the hopelessness you feel after getting off the phone with them. They REALLY shouldn't work for a MENTAL HEALTH facility. I only gave this place one star because Dr. Gragarin was professional, friendly and competent at managing my care. Despite this, Nova's Quincy facility is located in a dirty and smelly office building with cramped waiting rooms that are always crowded. My biggest pet peeve about Nova is that it is almost impossible to schedule an appointment with my psychiatrist since no one in reception picks up the phone (EVER!!). As a patient with a psychiatric condition you never know when you will need to schedule an urgent appointment in order to be assessed and have medications adjusted on an outpatient basis. Thus I recommend that you look elsewhere for your care as this place is essentially useless if you can't schedule an appointment via phone. I feel that this is not the place to write a review about Mental Health services but I digress. I had my first appointment at Nova with psychiatrist Dr. Theodore Wasik. I had underestimated my travel time and was about 15 minutes late. Although the receptionist was slightly annoyed it was one of the best experiences I have had in my life. (And I have seen a few psychiatrists.) Dr. Wasik was very welcoming. He did not rush my appointment even though I was late. He asked why I was seeking psychiatric attention. I explained why. I told him what my prior diagnoses were. He asked me if that is what I believe. (That is a first and a lovely surprise. I had always felt that I was just clumped together with this *new* disorder.) My appointment went over an hour. He is the first psychiatrist that I have seen that listened to me. He wanted to know me. He was not quick to prescribe me a pill and dismiss me in fifteen minutes. He took the time out to explain how medications could affect me. Most of all, he was not quick to put me into a group that I did not belong. I am impressed. Nova is no help to anyone!!! I had an appointment with my therapist. I called 24 hours prior to the appointment to say I couldn't make it and I needed to reschedule. I called every week for 3 weeks then I forgot about it. Fast forward to 3 months I finally have my first med appointment. I walk in and I was told I needed 140.00 for a missed appointment and 20 dollars for the appointment that day. I told them I cancelled the appointment and never received a call back. The receptionist then tells me I called the wrong number and I need to pay in full to be seen. I got upset because I have been without my meds for so long. I walked out. I call once a week for for the past 3 weeks to speak to billing and no one has called back. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I would give 0 stars if possible. This office is EXTREMELY disorganized and unprofessional. They have multiple check in desks on several floors and are constantly changing where you check in and where you meet with your provider. They will schedule you with the wrong doctor or tell you that you have an appointment which you will show up for only to find out they made the appointment at a time your provider is not there. They DO NOT follow HIPPA laws and I have frequently overheard office staff discussing other patients. The providers are frequently late (over 30 minutes sometimes). They will not allow you to see a psychiatrist without seeing a therapist even if you do not feel you need to see a therapist. The therapist I have seen there is elderly and needs to retire. She is out of touch with reality and would type her notes while she met with me. It is a pain to find and get an appointment with a psychiatrist but I can no longer waste my time at such a horrible office with inept providers! read more

My counselor Arleen was great. I was told when doing intake I only had copay humm my ins doesn't do copay so that's my only bill $10 a session only to find out they were billing on top of that $95 tried numerous times to call no help. Went in to Quincy office talked to Miguel told him what happened saw right on the paper no copay I was responsible for what ever % it showed they strait out lied to me and I said I want my copay back and he said how am I getting paid not I'm sorry let's work this out I told him off infront of his staff shady people insurance is tough enough finding someone you like then there bosses f you over I'm not done with them. read more

HORRIBLE. I can't believe I have to even leave ONE star. NEVER GO HERE. I left wanting to CRY. Unorganized, unprofessional, and the most incompetent people working there. It also smells like cigarettes and air freshener. I went to the first desk and checked in. The man at the *first desk told me unconfidently and casually, "...uhhh yeah so I think she's on the 3rd floor in suite __." I go up to the 3rd floor and check in at the OTHER (?!) desk where I sign in and pay the woman where she tells me just to sit and I would be seen shortly. About 15 minutes later (past my scheduled appointment time) they get a call at the front desk. The woman comes out and says, "huh so actually they're waiting for you on the 2nd floor in suite __." I get up and go BACK downstairs. That appointment went well, however I was kept late (after telling them I had an appointment right after this one), and I go back up to the desk where the woman was on the 3rd floor. I check back in for my second appointment and the lady asks for my same information and if I had paid...i stared at her and said, "I PAID YOU!" Another woman came up and asked if I had filled out the paperwork already, and I respond..."uh, what paperwork? No one handed me anything to fill out when I got here, and I Have already been seen once." She hands me paperwork to fill out, and I sit down to work on it. The second doctor comes out grumpy that his 11:30 appointment is late and that its already 30 minutes past (even though it technically was only 15 or so minutes past) and then I look up at him and he goes, "are you here for our appointment that was scheduled for 11:30??? Uhhh, how do you think we're supposed to cover all of this information in 15 minutes? theres a reason there 45 minute slots *rolling his eyes rudely*. I tell him that the (incompetent) staff sent me ALL over the building and that it was definitely not my fault that I was late and it was due to the terrible staff (i left the terrible staff part out, but you get the gist). He stares blankly and huffs, "well I don't know what you think i'm supposed to do. we only have 15 minutes left of our appointment." Furious and frustrated I told him I would just LEAVE and to forget about it. He says, "oh well, no fine lets just see what we can get done." the appointment was terrible, to say the least. At one point, turned to me and said, "well you don't LOOK like you're depressed." ... "but I guess that doesn't mean you weren't like last week or something." ALSO. when asked if I wanted to reschedule they said (also rolling their eyes and speaking rudely, like how dare I ask such a stupid question) "Goodluck getting ahold of anyone here. if you can't find anyone or reach anyone you can email me I guess" Never. EVER again will I return to that horrid place. I hope they go out of business because they shouldn't be running services there with people who don't have brains or compassion. The mental health care is sadly so hard to get the right help from. If I was severely, severely depressed I probably would have killed myself after that experience. Instead, I have come a long way, but left wanting to cry and felt miserable afterwards. I had been looking forward to this appointment and finding the help I needed for so long. DO NOT GO TO NOVA PSYCHIATRIC IN WEYMOUTH!! For the second time in a row, on my second visit there, the front desk staff was rude, ignorant and downright mean. The first time they insisted on getting ID from my 15 year daughter to prove she was mine because we have different last names. Talked over me when I tried to explain that she's too young to have one and wouldn't let me even speak. Nasty nasty attitudes. Second time, I stood at the closed glass window for 10 minutes then finally knocked so the one woman there would see me and before I could say why I was there, she said. "The receptionist is gone and I'm on lunch, take a seat." Never even opened the window. When a practitioner came out and I told him I just needed a note, he asked her and she Popped her head out saying you'll have to come back Monday. This is Friday at 2pm.
