Dropping the ball might be this company's best attribute! We started our process with loan officer Ben Comia. We were upfront from day one about our financial situation & past events that may keep us from getting a home loan. All documents & needed materials were in Ben's hand from Day 1, we believe he dropped the ball on us big time! After getting a pre approval from Ben, we house searched, made an offer that was accepted & began the process of home purchase. Inspections happened & all the while I stayed in close communication with Ben to get all requests quickly for his underwriting team. Long story short, do you know they waited until 1 week before closing to tell us underwriting would not approve our loan!?? By the way, at this point we had sold our home & were soon to be homeless! I attempted to reach out to Dustin Dehart myself but never received a call back. We then hired a lawyer who called Dustin twice to no avail. I think Nova Home Loans thinks if they ignore us, we will go away... but we will not. We intend on suing this company for negligence ... plus! We have lost so much due to their gross negligence and intent on seeing this to the fullest extent. Companies like Nova Home Loans hope for people they screw over to give up, they have never met us. Do NOT trust this company with your home buying needs. I warn you. Don't be left homeless, like they left us. A company like Nova Home Loans should be allowed to receive zero stars because that is what they are worth! read more

So we spoke to a realtor about wanting to upgrade our home among other things, and were directed to Nova Home Loans. All I can say is WOW. It was a phone consultation but their phone etiquette is amazing. Initial call was to John, I filled him in on the ideas and plans talked over with my realtor and he was very helpful and knowledgeable about the current real estate market. He passed my information to an associate, Dennis, who later called to take our information to see where we stood. The whole process was very pleasant, quick, and educating. Dennis made sure to lay everything out on the table for us so we understood our options. The consultation was in geared towards our best interest. No pressure at all. He even extended temp use of their online portal so we can get work on our own. Professionalism + kindness + patients = Amazing customer service. If your in the market for a home and want the financial part of your house hunting to be a breeze, give them a call. Mark Sangster hands down is the best loan officer I have ever had to deal with. He went above and beyond to make sure we actually qualified before sending to underwriting but made sure we were able to get all assistance available to us through NV home is possible program. After closing he even reached out to see if we received our offer from our PMI company about free 2 yr job loss insurance program. Would highly recommend! This company as a hole appears to be scetchy. I delt with two different loan officers and was unclear as to who I should talk with. One called and asked about information that was already given to the other officer which led me to believe there was a lack of communication or lack of administrative filing. I don't know about you but that's a huge red flag when your dealing with anyone's personal information. They also took no fault in the authorization of running my credit twice. They said "it needed to be done" rather than asking for permission. read more

Just to start.. the previous review sounds like one that was written by someone as a favor to the company. This company is a nightmare to work with for a home loan. I recommend you find anyone except Nova Home Loans. They do a bunch of small warm and fuzzy things to make you feel comfortable, just before they screw it all up. I did a home loan with Dan French at Nova Home Loans and it was the biggest mess and nightmare the whole way through. We worked very hard to get my credit good enough to buy a house, we then sold our old 78' truck so that we had plenty of money to purchase a home with the home is possible program. This should have been a simple loan in which the money did not even need to be sourced given that the down payment was being covered by the program. Yet on the day we were supposed to close, 45 days into the process, we were notified that the money from our truck sale could not be sourced. Then it was tons of hoops we had to jump through to try and justify money that shouldn't need to be sourced in the first place. They changed my loan to a conventional FHA loan without my consent and then told me that I had to pay the down payment and closing but that they were doing lender credit to balance the difference but it just ended up being a good way for them to make more money on the interest. Dan and the rest of the people working on my loan basically didn't look at or start the process until we were supposed to close, I felt like they didn't feel like they were making enough money off the deal to make it worth their time so they back burnered my loan and it didn't get done for closing. I was 9 months pregnant and the people we were buying the home from let us move in early so that we didn't have the baby in the middle of moving. So it was important that we get closed so that the owner could get their money. It also cost us more money to do this while we waited for them to figure my loan out. My realtor ended up doing 5 new addendums during the course of the process because they just couldn't do what they were supposed to. Dan was so difficult to talk to and kept telling us how he was just trying to help us out and that he's doing us all these favors, even though he couldn't keep his stories straight. He's one of those guys that spews so much lies all day long that he can't remember all the lies he tells. He kept telling us how it was the same thing either way, but I'm sorry 4.375% with only a couple thousand in closing costs is not the same as 5.125% and closing costs plus having to renegotiate terms with the seller and the nearly 3 months it took us to get closed and almost ending up homeless with a newborn baby is NOT the SAME THING. We had been living in the house for two weeks and he was telling us that as soon as we get closed the following week we could get our keys...like really? The people within this company also have terrible communication with each other. Two people would call you all with different information and the story changed each time we talked. so here I am now needing to refinance my new home as soon as I can pay all the fees again because they screwed it up so bad. I am happy to have my home but it was all made possible by my realtor staying on it, no thanks to Nova Home Loans. I couldn't get a total from them on what I was going to owe at closing until the day I closed and even then it was different than they had told me. In fact it was different every time I asked. People don't just blindly buy homes not knowing what they are going to owe in the end, because maybe you need to know if you can afford it or not? So please, if you are going to buy a home use anyone else besides these people, or you will regret it, we've asked around now that the situation is over and every mortgage person we've talked to has said the same thing...BEWARE OF NOVA HOME LOANS. They will rip you off! read more
