I was extremely impressed with the professionalism, communication, and follow-up from D&L Builders…read more Before our appointment, they sent me a helpful guide explaining their process and even invited me to share information about my project in advance. That level of organization immediately gave me confidence. During my consultation, Bar exceeded my expectations. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and clearly has extensive experience in remodeling. I especially appreciated his straightforward, honest approach. Rather than simply agreeing with every idea I had, he took the time to explain the pros and cons of different renovation options and offered thoughtful recommendations based on both function and long-term value. What really stood out was that he identified several important considerations that none of the other contractors I met with had even mentioned. His expertise was evident throughout the entire appointment, and I left feeling much more informed about my project. If budget weren't a factor, I would have hired D&L Builders on the spot. Unfortunately, I have several home projects underway and need to stay within my overall budget. Even so, I highly recommend meeting with Bar if you're looking for an experienced contractor who values honesty, quality, and educating his clients rather than simply trying to make a sale.

Bar also treated me like I didn't know anything and kept asking me if there was another decision maker in the house (I told him several times it was my decision alone). He talked down to me and tried to convince me not to do my kitchen remodel because it's being done out of necessity (I broke my oven door) despite me saying I've hated this kitchen since I moved in over 5 years ago. Edit to owner: I told Bar multiple times I am the only decision maker and he kept questioning me. I also told him 3 times this project is something I've been wanting for over 5 years and was going to be a next year project, which got moved up by me breaking my oven door. I knew what I wanted and shared that with Bar. There's no reason he should have been trying to convince me to get things I explicitly said I did NOT want. That's not listening to your potential customers. I had consultations from 5 contractors and D&L is the only one that quoted me over $10,000 for the same scope of work. It doesn't matter that it was split between 2 quotes because it was still $18,000 more than every other contractor ($14,000 for adding new countertop, sink, oven (not including material) and $14,000 to sand and restain cabinets and drawers). My consultation with D&L is also the only one where I didn't feel like I was being listened to despite repeating myself multiple times. Just because I didn't hire D&L doesn't mean I'm not able to share my experience.

Dean and Robert didn't just do great work. They earned my trust…read more My wife designed the layout and my engineer contributed specifications. What impressed me is that Dean and Robert took both and made them better, using their real knowledge of how concrete works. The control joints are placed right, they put in real drainage with actual drains and grading built throughout, and it looks clean and classy without being overdone. Flatwork around the entire house, driveway, front yard, backyard, both sides, fencing, gates. Did they get everything perfect on the first pass? Almost. What separates them is that when something was off, they owned it completely. No excuses, no pushback, just fixed. They paid attention to details that other contractors I quoted either missed entirely or only caught after I nudged them. Dean caught everything without me saying a word. Every day at the end of their shift they cleaned up and secured the site, even when it wasn't convenient. Robert ran a tight field operation and cared about every detail like his reputation depended on it. I have a young kid at home and that told me everything about who these guys are. I had my own engineer come out and review the work on-site. He looked around and said, unprompted, "You've got a great crew here." Engineers don't hand out compliments. That meant something. These guys come from commercial construction and brought that level of expertise to a residential job without going overkill. I actually spotted their truck at another client's property. Here's my honest take: if my mom needed this much work done and I couldn't be there to check in, I would still trust Dean to make sure she was taken care of. That's the highest thing I can say.
