The waiting area was clean, with just the right kind of toys (entertaining for him but easy tell they were kept clean). They did a covid survey via text and checked temps, had you sanitize hands, etc. The appointment itself was great- she had all kinds of tricks to win my son over (even a balloon sword she made with the little air gun). She was very patient and sweet with him. The environment was very kid friendly, and he even got a prize at the end. Overall, we are looking forward to future visits. Fast forward decades later and wow has dental care evolved for children!!! For example, take Smilez. They do all they can to ease children's fears. They offer nail polish and temporary tattoos. They have a creative photo area and iPads. They play music and have fun colors. I am jealous! For the first exam, they take it SLOWLY. They follow the lead of the child. It's more of an orientation to dental care. They explain the tools and try to make it as fun as possible. They understand that the first dental experience sets the tone for the rest of the patient's life. If the child is inconsolable, they offer quiet rooms. If the parent is inconsolable, they offer a quiet sitting room. Or better yet, they offer cleaning for the parent at the same time as the child is getting his or her exam. Taking care of one's teeth from childhood is crucial for maintaining healthy teeth and gums into adulthood. I highly recommend Smilez for kids and Loudoun Dental for adults (the two places are connected by a hallway).

My 14yro daughter just finished her final stage of braces last month then took a tumble on her electric scooter last night, hitting the pavement face first (thankfully was wearing a helmet). She busted her lip good and shifted top/front teeth out of place. After we wrapped up at ER, he met us at 10:30PM at his office to put a bracket on and gently pull her teeth back into place. Not to mention at NO CHARGE! He is really the best in the area, we had such a wonderful experience for her braces journey but this really took the cake as going ABOVE and beyond for his patients!
