It takes something truly exceptional for me to give a one-star rating, but this experience earned it. As a first-time customer, I was immediately given a very sales-heavy introduction and pressured to sign up for their membership club before I had even received a haircut. That was off-putting, but I decided to give them a chance. Unfortunately, the haircut itself was disappointing. I would honestly compare the quality to a budget chain salon, and my wife ended up fixing parts of it when I got home. Normally, I would have simply decided not to return and moved on. However, the bigger issue came afterward. When you book online, they keep your credit card on file and apparently schedule follow-up appointments automatically. I was never aware that another appointment had been booked, and when I didn't show up, I was charged 100% of the haircut cost. Being charged the full service amount for an appointment I didn't knowingly schedule is, in my opinion, an extremely questionable business practice. At the very least, customers should be clearly informed and required to actively confirm future appointments before being charged for missing them. To their credit, when I called and explained the situation, they did refund the charge. I appreciate that they made it right in the end. However, between the aggressive membership sales pitch, the poor haircut, and the surprise appointment charge, I can't recommend this business and won't be returning. I would strongly encourage potential customers to read the fine print and pay close attention to any future appointments that may be scheduled after your visit.

Yes, cleanliness... There are far too many barbers and cosmetologists out there that are filthy pigs. Yes, I just put that on a Yelp review. So, why did I follow Nicolas from Roseville to Folsom? I mean, gas prices are skyrocketing. He does a GREAT job, that's why! I've read other reviews about barbers from this location, or from different shops around, and there seems to be pretty consistent themes. Either the person writing the negative review was not the person that actually got the service done, or some other Yelp'er was trying to get to an Elite status by posting a bunch of times at different places. People just need to take the time to look. Getting back to this particular place... it is very open. Very clean and welcoming. It's not douche-bags like other places or been to. The barber we had paid for then asked whether another person could cut my son's hair. We agreed because otherwise we would have had to wait at least another 30 minutes. Unfortunately, the haircut was not what my son wanted, and he is very unhappy with the result. It is not acceptable to schedule "appointments" and charge customers in advance if you cannot provide the service with the barber they booked.
