Then, showing Chris an image of a long hair style (Bro Flow) we were going for, Chris just kept cutting until Dave's hair was as short as he used to keep it last year It was frustrating for my husband as he stayed away from any cutting for four months to speed the process up. Now he has to start all over. Very disappointed in Chris for forgetting what he was supposed to do and eliminating all that work Dave put in. We can't go back, we can't glue it back on. This haircut was done terribly. Unfortunately, my bf didn't notice until after he came home and took his shower. One side of his head looked like it was shaved for a little bit and the person shaving it just stopped. The same goes for the back of his head. I'm 100% sure he's given himself better haircuts in quarantine. He was also asked a lot of questions about the taper length and decided to go with his recommendation and this is what it turned out to be. He was only coming up to a year as a barber and still has a lot of improvement to do. EDIT: I was contacted immediately by the barber who did my haircut and offered to remedy the situation. I've been going to Barber Blues since 2014, mainly the Midtown Sac location, but I recently moved back to Folsom and was stoked to see a BB in Folsom. I love this location. Nate is an excellent barber. He is kind, courteous, easy to talk to, and cuts hair really well. He starts by asking what you're looking for and even suggests different styles. Many barbers don't do this. They want you in and out; Nate is not that type of barber. He takes his time with your fade and cuts it to look exactly the way you want it. I happened to have the pleasure of sitting in her chair and I was very impressed with her knowledge of how hair grows and how new growth works, her knowledge of skin care and how to best take care of my skin so that my beard is at its best. I booked an appointment to cut off my shoulder length hair that I have had for the last 2 years. I was really nervous about going short again because I loved my long hair but I always had a great experience at barber blues in the past so I knew I could trust them to take care of me. Nate C. was my barber and he did an INCREDIBLE job!!! He made the time to consult with me since it was going to be such a big change. I really appreciated his patience and willingness to communicate with me to make sure I was getting what I wanted. He gave great input on what we could do and took really great care through the whole process, checking in with me to make sure I was satisfied with the style and length. I was recommended to go here by a local Salon owner in folsom who couldn't get me in but knew I would be taken care of. I called, got a same day appointment and was treated very well by the staff. I got my cut, had great conversation and got to see a glimpse of what the full BB experience will be when restrictions are lifted. Sadly they couldn't do a razor shave, or offer me a fresh draught beer at my visit but when they do get the chance it will be a full treat for sure! Whats even better and stood out to me was the fact that when i got home, I wasn't happy with the cut. There were a few issues I felt needed to be addressed. They had me back in, took care of me and were very attentive to my desires to be sure I was happy. There was no ego involved which spoke volumes to me. Many times a barber feels they can do no wrong, and leave you with what you have. That wasn't the case here, the barber asked for opinions from the owner and fellow barbers and talked me through the whole cut to make sure I was leaving happy this time. Took my 13 year old son to get his first (non-cheap) haircut. He was specific about what he wanted and Nate took care of what he asked for but there were a few issues. #1 it was not a manly cut in any way. #2 it was uneven. #3 his longer hair was not layered (at all). Upon arriving home my wife said that she had the same cut in high school. He shared photos with friend and they also made fun of him. We went back to allow them to try to make it right. Nate said that he doesn't have time, he's booked til the end of the day and to come back at 5:00. We arrive just before 5:00 and the first thing I'm asked for is that if I'd do an additional $15 (on top of the $39 I had already paid), as long as I'm ok with it. I agreed, my son had been in a funk most of the day after the haircut cuz it was bad. Nate also tries to defend the haircut saying that it was not a woman's style now and that a little gel would make it look good. Regardless, my son who came in earlier in the day with fabulous long flowing hair left with a clipper only buzz cut (because that's the only thing my son felt would fix it after making it look bad for a boy his age). After the cut he again asked me if I was ok with paying the extra $15. I agreed but shared my disappointment, he didn't charge the extra $15 but also shared that his boss told him to charge double. Truth is, it's not old school... it's new school, with a new wave of younger barbers who know what it means to really service their customers.
