I visited this medspa in the hopes of getting my first-ever round of botox. I'm in my early 30s and wanted to stop the progression of my forehead wrinkles and to feel more beautiful. I did an absolute TON of research, for months, before selecting this clinic. It good mostly good reviews so I decided to take the plunge. I told my nurse injector that I didn't want the totally paralyzed look, I wanted a low dose to start out with so that I could still maintain some movement to look natural. I also told her I was very worried about my brow dropping from being over injected. She told me she knew exactly what to do to give me the look I wanted so I felt very confident in her. Within 5 days I started seeing results and was very excited to see my forehead wrinkles soften. But, by day 6 I noticed something wasn't right, and by days 7 and 8 my forehead was 100% paralyzed, and more alarmingly my brow had completely dropped!!! My brows fell down and hung over my eyes hooding them and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't move them in the slightest. I looked like a caveman and was so upset with my results I cried and cried. Friends, family, and coworkers kept asking me why I looked so angry and tired, but I was too ashamed and embarrassed to admit it was because of a botched botox job. I reached out to the medspa and after some back and forth they told me that the nurse had injected too high of a dose and in the incorrect placement, and that once it wore off, they would inject me again for free. For 3.5 months I endured my hideous face. I stopped wearing makeup bc I simply couldn't make my eyes look any better (in fact they looked worse with makeup). Everywhere I went I wore sunglasses. I even bought Korean forehead tape to TAPE my brows up...I was desperate for normalcy. After the botox wore off my husband wanted me to swear that I wouldn't get it again. The problem was, despite the horrible results that affected my eyes I did love the fact that my forehead was smooth. The owner/nurse practitioner of the medspa assured me that this was a freak accident, a 1-in-a-million issue that would not be repeated in the future. She promised me she could give me the results I wanted on the next round (again, injecting for free). So like an idiot, I went back. And guess what? The SAME EXACT RESULTS OCCURED. I felt like the world biggest fool for trusting this medspa twice. For nearly 8 months out of this year I have lived hating my face, some days unable to look at myself in the mirror. Finally the results are wearing off for a second time, but rest assured I will NEVER be coming to this clinic again. read more

I found Nova Aesthetics on Groupon originally and saw good reviews so I decided to do an IPL trea. My appointment was with Jasmine and she was EXCELLENT! She talked me through the IPL process and told me more about my skin. I was nervous since it was my first time and greatly appreciated Jasmine checking in on me to see how I was doing throughout the treatment. The treatment didn't take long and we talked about post treatment and follow up sessions. I came here for a full face Photofacial and received a half face Photofacial.. this is especially upsetting because I've been coming here for the last year prior to COVID and this is such a horrible experience since covid. I feel they are more focused on quantity and not quality now. It's really disappointing: I came back to the office within 10 minutes and the "office manager" said she could clearly see that certain areas hadn't been treated, but there was really no viable solution they could provide to me other than coming back and paying for a second treatment. I'm not happy with this med spa. They probably do great services, but I wouldn't know because both times I went here they wasted my time. For reference, I just moved to San Antonio from Oregon and was looking for a med spa in the area for botox and lip filler (which I've had done before in Oregon). I went on Yelp and Nova had amazing reviews. I then followed Nova and the owner on Instagram. A few weeks passed and they posted on IG that they needed botox models! I immediately messaged the owner (because who doesn't like discounted botox) and she booked me an appt for 10am the following day. I got a text reminder about my appt and everything. I show up a little early to do the paperwork since I was a new client at Nova. The front desk area looks really nice, and they girls working the desk were nice. Not amazing service, but nice. At around 10:10 I was brought back to a room where the botox would be done. I was told that the owner and the lady she was training would be right with me. I waited in that room for 30 MINUTES. No one to check on me. Nothing. I went back to the front desk and said that my appt was at 10, it's now 10:45am and I haven't had my service done. The girls didn't apologize, just told me to go back to the room. I waited another 5 minutes and eventually the 2 ladies came in. They weren't apologetic at all for making me wait 50 minutes for my appt that was scheduled for 10am. I got the botox done and left. An appt that should've been 20-30 minutes long took a whole hour. A few weeks later I booked an appt for a lip filler touch up. I was booked with a random injector Jessica. I showed up for my appt on time and was put into a room 10 minutes later. Jessica comes in and honestly she just wasn't very friendly. She didn't make me feel comfortable, or even ask about me or my day or anything. I told her what I wanted and she told me we had to dissolve my filler before she added any more. She numbed my lips and left me in the room with the numbing cream for about 25 minutes......that's a long time to sit and get numb for. I didn't think I needed anything dissolved...but we went ahead and did it. She then booked me for filler in the next 3 weeks. After that I knew I wasn't going back. The people there just aren't friendly. The owner wasted my time, and I didn't feel good about Jessica doing my lips. I went back on Yelp and found Magnolia MedSpa and OH MY GOSH what a difference. I went to Magnolia today and was greeted with friendly people and Jordan was AMAZING who went over everything with me. Save yourself some time and go to Magnolia. read more

Little to no difference with one IPL treatment. Called to book an appointment while they were doing a promotion and was told that $25 consultation fee would be put towards my service if I decided to get service same day. Next day, got a call that the tech was sick and I would need to reschedule. Understandable but now that the $25 consultation fee would not be applied towards the cost of service. When asked several times about it because it was not my fault the tech got sick I was told it wouldn't be applied. Very confusing. Once I went to appt, the tech was very nice and explained everything. However, once healed there was very little to no difference than before. Still have all the same brown spots and in fact two weeks after service and the purchase of their product for hyperpigmentation sunscreen, spots are the same. Disappointing. read more

I first discovered Nova Aesthetics back in March, 2016. I was invited to a Botox party and Lauren Meyer did my first ever botox, and lip injections. Walking into the salon, my first impression is cleanliness, and aura. The place is stunning. And always smells amazing, and its spotless. Which is a huge deal to me. Each room is super comfy, and amazing. Lauren always takes super good care of me. She takes her time, she cares about my results. Shes always very clear and helpful with her post instructions, and gives amazing tips. Every time I get something done, she texts me the very next day & asks how Im doing. Which is amazing. My only complaint is if you don't pay by cash you're charged a service fee to use a credit/debit card. I would totally understand this if you're paying for a small/cheap service. Where can I begin with Nova and how greatly this beauty facility has impacted my life. After working to pay off my car (I do not yield a high income) but have been interested in beauty procedures for years I was finally able save! I researched & realized San Antonio has one of the nations top injectors! I booked an appointment and from start to finish was treated very well and attended to. I started with some enhancements (filler and Botox) I kept receiving two reoccurring compliments which include what was I doing to have such a clean smooth face and that I looked well rested. My face looked so much more balanced and these minor adjustments made such a big difference! There are some things that makeup and creams cannot aid with, yes they can help but it's not the same. For example I had a small amount of lip filler. When I did apply lipstick, Iipgloss etc it looked so much smoother because it was being applied to more taunt skin / lips. Applying makeup was also a breeze as I had less crevices and less crease thanks to Botox. I love my results and appreciate the staff so much that I forced my parents to also visit! My mom was treated so well and is so happy with her results too! Not only is she happy but as someone who was raised in poverty she isn't used to entering beautiful establishments and I knew she would be intimidated but as soon as she walked in the staff treated her so graciously that her anxiety subsided and she loves coming in. Her self esteem has increased and she is comfortable and confident in her own skin. She is ecstatic about her results and tells me how much she appreciates Nova Aesthetics and how the standard of care she is provided each visit means to her. Got my lip fillers done a couple of weeks ago here and they are just completely settled everyone was very professional and the price was super reasonable. As far as safety everyone seemed to be following protocol except for the employees huddling up however that was not a huge issue. Can't wait for my next one. I have been coming to Nova for almost a year now and have yet to be disappointed with the quality of service. The front desk staff are always willing to assist. For instance, at one of my visits I had purchased a package deal from a previous sale and was told I had only 3 remaining when I should have had four. The staff looked into the issue and not only corrected the error, but were never unprofessional in the process. I do advise you to request your receipts after each visit just incase there is ever an issue, but that is just a habit of mine. As for the aestheticians, I have never encountered a more patient and professional all over crew. They always answer any questions I have and always recommend what would look best. They do not look to up sell you or buy more than what you need. They are all perfectionists in their craft which I love. The office itself is always comfortable, clean, and welcoming. I came across Nova Aesthetics while looking for treatments to improve my skin. I read the reviews, and decided to give it a shot so I purchased a package of 3 Photofacials from Groupon. When I arrived the staff was very friendly, office was clean and well put together. I was notified that unfortunately due to my melanin IPL wouldn't be the right fit for me, so the aesthetician Jazmyn gave me her best recommendation and we went with a chemical peel instead. I felt very at ease, have full trust in her. She was really informative not only about the procedure, aftercare, but also other services offered that might benefit me. It's only been a day since my peel so I can't say what the outcome is yet but I'll definitely be stopping by soon for some fillers. Btw, I was able to get a refund for the facials :) read more

This is my first time here. The staff is excellent extremely polite and courteous. There was a difficult woman ahead of me. She was upset that she had gotten her appointment dates crossed and she was throwing an adult tantrum. Instead of sending her away the front office staff did everything they could to accommodate her. She calmed down and they escorted her to the back, quickly. Once I filled out all my forms, I was called to the back. The patient rooms are clean and they have info brochures for you available. I met with the nurse practitioner within 4-5 minutes of sitting there, her name was Jessica. Jessica is professional, polite, easy to talk to and very patient. I must have asked her 30 questions about one procedure and she answered every question and made sure I understood expectations vs reality. I went in to get Botox, originally got quoted $220 by a non-injector for the areas of concern where I wanted the Botox. I said that was fine and made the appt and ended up getting a chemical peel that day went home. After healing from my peel, I had my botox appt, ended paying $320 for less units then what I was originally quoted for. I agreedeed but after 2 days I noticed no change in my face. Went back to the office, they said it takes 10 days for the Botox to take effect and in-fact, what I got was not Botox but an off-brand but everyone just calls it Botox, and I should see results it 8 more days, but if I don't that they would re-inject me for free because they guarantee their work. I made appt to come back in the 8 days to see if the off brand Botox took effect. Day 12 I went back still don't see results. They say, "I see no muscle movement" and they are saying, well I need more units but the injections did work. When in fact I know they did not. (They didn't take before after pictures) After going around in circles with the owner Marta Paul (it was going no where she was being condescending and mean and rude and her tone high), I decided to leave grab my bag and say to myself, (poor choice of words) "you're going regret this" - meaning, I'm going to write a bad review and never come back, as if they care from the type of customer service they seem to have provided me. Marta lost it, (no joke) she locked me in the room,held against my will by blocking the door yelling at me (thug style) "WHAT DID YOU SAY!" over and over again and wouldn't let me leave the room for about a minute in a half, I asked her repeatedly to let me go, and she says "yea not so tough now, huh", (let's remember this is the OWNER talking) I didn't even act tough, I just expressed my concerns and frankly I was feeling scammed. Workers where trying to pry the door open when they were hearing all the commotion by her yelling at me obsessively however she was holding the door shut with her body weight and the her hand firmly on the handle. Then finally after my eyes watered up, she opened the door moved aside told me to "leave my establishment, and never come back." All I wanted was the services I payed for and yet I left feeling scammed and emotionally battered. I never once raised my voice at them or mistreated them but Marta had no problem being condescending and mean from the moment she walked into the room. In the end I was the one feeling regret that I ever went into that clinic that filled me with such embarrassment and belittlement. Please be cautious this place can be costly not just with money but with your self respect. P. S. left with no results their products didn't work for me. read more
