Anna is the best, and her food is outrageously delicious and...nourishing! If I could, I would have Anna cook for our family every single week until my kids leave for college. If you're like me and love eating delicious, homemade food but either don't have have the time or inclination to cook every night, Anna and Nourish are a godsend. First, her food is delicious. I would eat it every day if I could. It also feel so nourishing, with homemade bone broths, organic meats and farmers market vegetables. It's creative and always different, but was never too unusual to appeal to my young kids. Finally, I LOVE that she uses glass jars and compostable containers. We hired Anna to deliver food for us for the first three months after our second child was born. We had had a very rough postpartum period following the birth of our first child and wanted to set ourselves up for success the second time. This was the best thing we could have done, and I always looked forward to our weekly deliveries. Hiring Anna and her partner Nicky was the best decision my husband and I made! While Anna was ultimately our birth doula, her partner Nicky is just as warm and kind and it was such a relief in the final weeks of pregnancy to know that there were two resourceful and talented doulas available to support us. I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about Anna. As soon as she entered our house during the early stages of labor I felt at ease. She made sure I was well hydrated, offered suggestions when my contractions seemed to stall out for a bit, made sure my husband had a chance to nap and eat, and provided the most AMAZING back massage when contractions intensified. We delivered at UCSF where Anna has assisted many births. She knew most of the medical staff we worked with and you could tell they all really liked and respected her. She helped ensure our birth preferences were known and was helpful and supportive when talking through unanticipated decisions. I would give Anna 10 stars if I could! Anna helped us not only through the postpartum period, but before and after. Prior to baby's arrival she helped organize our nursery and gave us tips on items we would need in the immediate and long term. She has continued to check in with our family as our baby grows and I never hesitate to text her with questions (which she always promptly responds to!) Practically speaking, she is never late, an incredible communicator, as well as super neat and clean. She is nurturing to our entire family and has a very deep understanding of how sacred the postpartum period is. She is a shoulder to lean on for both baby and I. We were thrilled to find Anna as a postpartum doula. As first time parents we had so many questions and fears around doing everything right. She is so warm and reassuring and genuinely cared about our baby and the whole family. Anna is a special doula--we are so grateful we found her and that she was at our side for the birth of our daughter in December. Anna is wise. She is mature. She is confident, gentle, and brings expertise and intuition to a birthing process that put us at ease and gave us strength. Every birth is different and what highlighted Anna was her ability to guide us through a very personal and intimate experience in a way that brought the full breadth of her wisdom and experience while adapting it to support us in all the right ways, including things we anticipated needing (e.g., lower-back massage, breathing exercises) and several which we didn't anticipate and that she recognized (e.g., creating moment for naps/rest, diligently maintaining hydration, meditating). Our daughter's birth was a long one--it lasted 76 hrs and ultimately ended in a C-section. The process demonstrated the full spectrum of this talented doula: percevierence to maintain 3 of us through an exhausing and relentless birth, physical touch to sooth and heal my wife, space and knowledgable input to help us make hard decisions as we deviated from the birthplan (epidural and C-section both were ultimately required). We pulled 2 all-nighters and Anna was solid as a rock. She alayed our fears during early contractions, led us through hour after hour of breathing exercises, massaged my wife in the tub/bed/floor/toilet/shower/sofa, and supported us in ultimately deciding on an epidural and C-section in a way that felt empowering and self-authored (leaving my wife happy and relieved by the decision). Anna is just wonderful and you'll be grateful to have her at your side for your birth. She's even a photographer and captured some images that celebrate the beautiful moments of that whirlwind experience. read more

Couldn't have done postpartum without Anna ! We worked with Anna for five weeks following the birth of our first child. She came by the day he was born to check in, went to the grocery, stocked our pantry with healthy food for me and prepped a bunch of other things my husband could easily make into nutritious postpartum food (v important!). This was invaluable! She is a wonderful cook and having the right foods on hand was a legitimate game changer. Anna was with us for many overnight stays in those first few weeks. Anna helped both of us get several hours of uninterrupted sleep early on, which was amazing, and for me she was such a good resource-turned-friend to chat with in the early morning hours of nursing/feeding. Other times Anna stayed later in the mornings or came during the day to help me with housework or to hold the babe while I got a few things done. After the baby is born, the mama (and papa) are born... and Anna was an invaluable part of us surviving the first weeks of becoming parents. Cannot recommend highly enough! read more

Anna is an exceptional Doula - from being easy to form a relationship with, to making us feel confident during our prenatal sessions, and then being there for our long labor - 52 hours all in all. We were almost sent home from the hospital (UCSF) on the eve of the birth and Anna lobbied the hospital staff to admit us. She was there for both of us through the crazy time and made it far less crazy and more manageable. Plus she took photos of the birth which have become invaluable. Anna was such an amazing and supportive doula! She came for multiple prenatal visits (and later post natal) where we discussed our birth plan, she taught us different positions to use at home for early labor and answered all our questions. On the day of the birth she helped with everything from suggesting positions to try during contractions to calling the hospital and helping to set the atmosphere that we were looking for. I felt very comfortable with her and appreciated her hands on and confident style. She is very knowledgeable and we knew we were in good hands. We hired Anna as our postpartum doula for our first baby who was due in January 2018. We did not know what to expect in the postpartum period, only that we thought we would like the experience and guidance of someone who had worked with many families and babies to help us navigate the unexpected and the challenges with having a new baby at home. We knew we made the right decision from the get-go - when my water broke the night of our prenatal meeting/visit (and 2.5 weeks early!), Anna immediately changed around her schedule and her recommendations/advice/approach based on our early arrival. When delivery complications left our daughter in the ICN for over a week, Anna's flexibility and adaptability to the situation was invaluable. From helping me rent and teaching me how to use my hospital-grade pump, setting me up with a pumping schedule, visiting us in the ICN, attending lactation consultant appointments by our daughter's bedside with me, and the best - cooking food at our house and stocking our fridge with nutritious and delicious food so we didn't have to rely on hospital cafeteria food for those first 8 days - I simply do not know how we would have navigated this unexpected and traumatic period without her. Anna's presence in our house was always the most helpful and anticipated time of the week - I knew that I would be able to nap, rest, have someone to hold/swaddle the baby and would have a full fridge of healthy food after her visit. Even after our initial weeks together, Anna has been a great resource for me and I feel like she is a part of our family now after our time together. I have recommended her to many friends, in many mother's group, and will hire her again for our next baby! read more

Yay Anna! We were so lucky to have this sweet spirit as our birth doula. This was our first birth and it was incredibly helpful to have someone as positive and encouraging as Anna to guide us through the prenatal period running up to the labor, and then through the actual labor. She was with us every step of the way through a very long labor at UCSF, helping me feel both physically and emotionally supported. Anna gave us the space to make our own decisions without being pushy or directive, while also providing additional context to what the medical team at UCSF were advising. During the prenatal period, she directed us to wonderful resources for prenatal massage, acupuncture, podcasts, yoga, and then later, lactation consulting. Those recommendations were critical! With her partner Nicky, she also supported us the first week after birth as our postpartum doula. I can't tell you the magic of coming home from the hospital and a hot, home-cooked meal is already prepared, the bed ready for mommy and baby to relax and nurse, and the chaos of our run to the hospital cleared up. Anna is the absolute best! We hired Anna and her partner Nicky to be our birth and postpartum doula. They were great. Anna was a wonderful resource during pregnancy and helping me weave through all the options presented. There was a time where we thought we'd have to deliver at 34 weeks, and Anna and Nicky were prepared to rearrange their schedules to accommodate. They also had two prenatal and one postpartum appointment with us. Nicky was the one that ended up attending our birth, and she was very calming. She talked me through every contraction and all the choices we encountered. Postpartum, Anna was our night doula for 6 weeks. She was such a delight. She was so supportive and loving. She didn't just take care of my baby, she also checked in with me as well. I felt at times like I was barely getting by, and we really leaned on Anna. She was gentle with our son and very knowledgeable for all our questions. Because of Anna we got some much needed sleep. She was a god send. After 6 weeks, we had Nicky as a night doula.
