Our consultation appointment went well with Dr. Brown and assistant. When my daughter arrived for her wisdom teeth surgery, Jen, the nurse, was wonderful and very knowledgeable. However, when surgery was complete I never saw the doctor before or after procedure. Jen kept me posted on her recovery, which all lasted in total 50 minutes and she was wheeled out. This was my daughter's first surgery and did not do well with anesthesia and wasn't able to walk out. I wished they had kept her longer in recovery. They don't know how to do their job. My appointment was cancelled because they shirked their responsibilities and made a diagnosis without even seeing me. They cancelled on me at 830 AM the day of my appointment which was less than 24hrs before my appointment . Where's my $150 cancellation fee? I was foolish enough to think that because what I needed was listed on their website that they would help me get some relief. If you don't want or like to do your job then you shouldn't be a practice. You are bad people and a bad business. My appointment was 9am. I waited for over 1.5 hours for 2 min procedure. No one gave me an explanation. I finally asked what's going on and suddenly Dr.Lyn came in ready to do the procedure (rolling my eyes). I think I was forgotten. I didn't feel comfortable. I felt like he didn't wait enough for the numbing to work so the shots were very painful. He just didn't have the comforting, trusting personality compared to the doctors I had for my various other oral procedures in the past. read more

My dentist referred me to an oral surgeon who couldn't see me for 2 months. Luckily Aseko was able to see me within a week. I felt very uncomfortable that I was expected to pay for the consultation ($210.00) prior to seeing the surgeon. Dr. Brown was very thorough and professional, as was her tech. When I returned for the extraction, i once again had to pay upfront, almost as if I was going to slip out without paying. When my husband went to pick up the medications (antibiotic and pain medicine) he was told they called the doctor's office to review the dosage instructions. They called 3 times (although the extraction was done on a Friday). I called Dr. Brown's emergency number on Saturday but never received a return call. I went to the office on Monday to complain, but none of the doctors were in. Needless to say, neither the pharmacy nor I were able to speak to Dr. Brown. It was very incompassionate to expect a patient to recover without pain medicine. The extraction was a back molar which does hurt more than most extractions. Customer service definitely needs improvement. At least I didn't have hemorrhaging and need to reach the doctor urgently.​ read more

Dr Trevann Lyn performed surgery on my partner, which we prepaid for. One part of the surgery was deemed unnecessary & therefore not done. We were promised a refund of about $1k. This was about 10 months ago. We called several times, getting run around. We were told 69 days ago, approx, that their accounting was behind and quite a few were owed refunds, and to expect funds in 7 days. No funds. I was able to get my consultation pretty quickly, however, the actual surgery date was 2 weeks away (Ok...bummer but whatever, I can wait). The weekend before my surgery, I received a text stating that my appointment had been moved to a later date. I was taken aback because the new date had not been discussed with me...they just switched it. After going back and forth via text, I was able to secure another appointment within the same week. (Ok...yes, I thought that was unprofessional, but Ok...it was resolved). On the day of my appointment, I got a phone call from the office stating that there was a schedule conflict and was asked if I could come in NOW instead of my appointment time, which was 3.5 hours later. I hesitated but I said sure because my tooth was really bothering me and I said, ok...I can change my schedule and come in and get the procedure done. I was prepped and medicated with Nitrous Oxide (which did absolutely nothing, by the way). I was told by a staff member at Akeso that getting Nitrous Oxide was similar to smoking marijuana. Now granted, I am very easy going but one should never assume that I would even know what smoking marijuana feels like, because I don't. So, the comparison did not connect and left me with more questions. The new dentist is there, and her energy is a bit bland but ok whatever, just take my tooth out. Her approach to numbing the area was not as gentle as it could have been, and I have had at least 8 procedures done on my mouth. I sucked it up because I needed this tooth OUT. As she started extracting, I heard a crunch, and the tooth broke in half. She kept poking and prodding and then alerted me that the tooth crumbled, and she would need to drill. She started drilling and I felt the most excruciating pain ever. I grimaced, tightened my legs, squeezed my hands, and jumped. After the jump, she tells me if we keep going on like this, she will have to stop the procedure, send me home, and then have me come back out to be put to sleep. In my head, I asked "Did she just give me a verbal warning?" She kept drilling away and I kept on with all of the pain behaviors and then she stopped and told me what I felt was pressure. I asked to speak and said to her that it was NOT pressure that I was feeling. I described my pain as my nerves being exposed and someone introducing an item with extreme temperatures to the area. She responded with, "Oh yeah, that's nerve pain because your nerves are exposed". At this point my heart rate is through the roof because I know when I am feeling pain but now, I am trying to figure out if I want her to continue with the procedure. So, I asked her "What's the worst-case scenario?" and she responded with having me come back and getting put to sleep. Now I am thinking quickly because now I am in pain, but I definitely don't want to leave with a broken tooth in my mouth, so I opted to finish the painful procedure. She was able to extract. I was glad it was over, but I was immediately discharged with a sheet of instructions. Fast forward to picking up my medications: I realized I was not prescribed any antibiotics as I was promised during the consultation and the Tylenol #3, nor the chlorohexidine mouth wash had no instructions on the bottle. I called the pharmacy, and they mentioned that the order was put in as take medication as directed. *Eye roll​* I felt it was extremely unsafe to discharge anyone with a narcotic with no clear instructions on the bottle. I am surprised the pharmacy even filled it. Anyway, I made it home and everything was going fair until the nighttime approached, and I was in PAIN!!!!!!! I have never felt this pain before...EVER. I took the NSAID, the Tylenol #3, gargled with salt water, and took the Chlorohexidine. Nothing worked! The guess what? I had an allergic reaction to the Tylenol #3 and thought I was going to die and then the Ibuprofen 800 made my stomach burn. The dentist did a follow up call in the afternoon after the surgery, which I thought was cool BUT when I told her my issues mentioned here and that I was in a great deal of pain, she stated "Oh wow...it happens. Well take Extra Strength Tylenol and cut the Ibuprofen in half". Umm ok...did it work? Of course not! The pain was severe all Friday, all of Saturday to the point where I had to call out, all of Sunday, and all of Monday. I had to do my own research and it appears that I have a dry socket. I have tried the remedies, etc and my pain is still beyond a 10. I called the "emergency line" and was told I would have to wait 24-48 hours to be addressed. I told the representative how unacceptable that was. She mentioned she was going to go back to my "note" and mark it as urgent. I didn't understand why that needed to be done IF I called the emergency line. That was at 0749am. By 244pm, I found myself calling the office back and kept getting sent to voicemail. My review... Daughter had 4 wisdom teeth removed today. The office staff was great, but pretty much everything else was horrible. 6k for wisdom teeth removal? Insurance paid 3k. I will be looking into this further. I was told to wait in my car it would be "about an hour maybe less". At an hour 20 I went back to check in. The door was locked "out to lunch". Ummm ok. I spotted a girl from the office walking across the back lot and I followed her back in to inquire. I was told perhaps the dr was running behind (Dr was in the room when I left it). I had to use the restroom anyway and OMG!! It was filthy!!! At this point I start to realize we had made a terrible mistake! At the 2 hour mark I asked an office girl to please go check on her. She came back and said "they are unhooking her now". She told me to go back to my car the tech would be calling me to pick her up at "the side". Tech called about 5 mins later and told me to pick her up at "the side". I drove to "the side", but there was no entrance. They didn't bother telling me they meant they would walk her out the front door and up the side street. what? Upon seeing them walking up the street I jumped out. My daughters eyes were very swollen and she was crying (she is late 20's). I asked why her eyes were so swollen and was told from crying. "she cried the entire time and was flailing her arms". uhhh she paid for anesthesia; paperwork called it deep sedation, be asleep. She told me they called her medicine into the pharmacy and that would help the pain. No ice pack, nothing for pain, walking up the street, poor communication and even worse patient care ... My daughter was completely coherent, remembered everything and is now completely traumatized!! She said after I had left there was a man screaming from another room...she wished she would have taken that as a sign. Do NOT go here!!! read more

We just left there and I loved the service my daughter recived . We noticed a bump above a tooth that she had chipped two years ago and went to the dentist today which resulted in a referral for an oral surgeon. My dentist assured me that my daughter would be in great hands ( she's only 3) so knowing that my dentist trusted him made me feel more at ease. They were able to see my daughter the same day and pull her tooth . All of the staff were great and really did everything to make my daughter and I both feel at ease . The waiting room was packed and it's a bit cramped but I can see why it's so busy . Dr Lyn and his staff are fantastic. We didn't feel rushed , questions were answered and clear aftercare instructions were given . I had oral surgery last week by Dr. Lyn and had to go back today because I thought I had somehow damaged the area. Thankfully after careful examination, Dr. Lyn assured me that all was well. Dr. Lyn and his staff (everyone including the ladies at the reception desk, the dental assistants and the x-ray technician) are absolutely wonderful! I saw Dr. Lyn twice to have wisdom teeth removed. As someone in their 30s I was worried about the procedure, the effects and the recovery as it's harder to over come those things with age. The actual surgery was seamless and I had fairly quick recovery with no residual complications. The staff was wonderful and Dr. Lyn made me feel very comfortable going into the surgery. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is my first surgery was rescheduled due to renovations and I was never notified- so I showed up to a closed building the day of. When I called to inquire the receptionist wanted to argue that I did get a call and never apologized for the inconvenience. read more

The extraction was basically painless, what I expected and I am now healing. Dr. Reid called to check up. My dentist has been telling me for three years that I needed to get my wisdom teeth taken out (all four were impacted). I met with the oral surgeon he recommended and found the doctor very strange, we did not mesh well. I set out to find my own oral surgeon and came across Dr. Lyn and read reviews on his website as well as here and felt pretty good about meeting with him. I set up the appointment and went in to meet with him. My first meeting, I spent very little time with Dr. Lyn and more time with his assistant. He did go over the potential side effects and sent me on my way. His assistant set me up for surgery. I was a complete mess and really worried about everything from the general anesthesia to recovery. On the day of, I showed up very nervous and Dr. Lyn was really great. His staff seemed unconcerned with my increasing anxiety, but he took the time to calm me to down. Once he told me I would feel a small prick from the needle, I was out and didn't remember anything until they woke me up. I had done extensive research before I had the surgery done and everyone was talking about how you wouldn't even feel any pain afterwards because the pain killers were so great. This was not the case for me. I was in horrible pain from day one. I was supposed to take the pain killers every six hours. Like clockwork, three hours in, they always wore off and I'd have to deal with the pain for three hours before I could take more medicine. My follow up was set for a week after the surgery. By day 5, I couldn't stand the pain anymore and went in early. Everyone wrote off my concerns and told me it was perfectly normal for me to still be in such severe pain (although I was told initially that most people start to recover in 3-5 days). I felt like no one was taking me seriously, but finally Dr. Lyn gave me a prescription for a stronger med. He told me to only follow up at the one weeks mark (in two days), if I wasn't progressing. I had to go back in. The new med wasn't working either. I finally had given up and was taking Advil pretty much round the clock to just keep the pain at bay. When I went back at the one week mark, he listened to all my concerns, answered all my questions and told me to follow up in another week if I wasn't improving. By week two, I wasn't improving, but chose not to go back. I decided to wait an extra week, to give myself three full weeks to heal and if I didn't feel better, then I would go back. 2 1/2 weeks in, I was finally off pain meds. Closer to the week three mark, I finally felt almost normal. My point in all this is the following: Not everyone will heal at the same speed. Some people seem to bounce right back. Other stories I found online said it took them up to four weeks to heal. I wish the doctors were more honest about this. I knew I'd have extended healing time due to my age (36), but I wasn't expecting nearly three weeks. Additionally, I generally did like Dr. Lyn. His office is very convenient to my house and the procedure itself went fine. I had no bleeding, swelling, or bruising after the surgery. It just seems to be hit or miss with how you catch him on any given day, as I'd had really great visits and also visits that were less than ideal. At the end of the day, I will go back if I have a need for an oral surgeon in the future. read more

I've unfortunately had to see Dr. Lyn several times this year to pull some teeth. And just last week went in for a dental implant, which I was dreading. I have never felt more comfortable during a dental procedure. EVERYONE in that office is caring, super nice, and professional. Today I received flowers from the office wishing me a speedy recovery. I went for a consultantation, most of the staff was very helpful and friendly, but the dentist I saw was very abrasive. I had questions about what my options were and had done some research beforehand so I would have questions to ask, but I didn't even get a chance to ask any questions. I was told after one x-ray that there was nothing he could ever do and that I would have my condition for the rest of my life and I could either take his suggestion or be irrational and ask for a second opinion. He brought up four times that he was "board certified", but I never asked him about that or even questioned his suggestions. I was seriously just trying to ask him to clarify what he was saying because it was so completely different from everything I've read and heard from other dentists. He interrupted me numerous times to explain how certain jaw problems were things he wasn't going to work on and he's board certified so he really knows what he's talking about. It was a frustrating experience and I wish I had just walked out to be honest. It would have been faster and far less frustrating if he just came out and said "look, you have this condition, but I don't feel like treating you because reasons". I was super excited for my consultation to discuss extracting my wisdom teeth. Confirmed the appointment at 4:00pm the afternoon before. Received a call at 9:00 a.m. cancelling my appointment, without reason. It seems that though we all have to take off of work to make it to these types of appointments, Dr. Lyn was unable to take that into account the day before when his office staff called to confirm my appointment. I am outraged when anyone, yet alone professionals, cancel the day of without reason.
