After the job was…read moredone everything was great and fine until months later a tire is losing air where then I realize that the rims were never put back from where they were taken off, so my sensor shows ALL my tires are in different positions.. (I had to guess which of my four tires actually needed air).. so I call back for them to fix that and the guy Ricardo, supposed Manager, wants to charge me because it was too long ago, he tried telling me someone else did that when literally my car hasn't been touched since them. He plain didn't care. They don't take accountability for their mistakes, Ricardo was rude on the phone, kept saying OMG and putting the phone down instead of hearing me out.. I will Never go there again and highly recommend you go elsewhere because if they mess up it's on you! They will steal your money. This is by far the worse customer service I have ever experienced.

As I mentioned in my last review, I left my last mechanic about two years ago due to some bad practices. I would be misquoted over the phone (I'd get one price, then when I called to schedule work, suddenly the price would jump up); the "we did the work, but turns out we didn't" debacle was the last straw for me. Here, I know that what I'm quoted is what I'm going to pay. What I appreciate the most is how my bills are itemized. They will shop around for the best price. They will write out exactly what will be used for my job, and the price associated with it, before I bring my car in. If a big job is going to be done (like finding out yesterday I need all of my brakes replaced), I am shown exactly what's wrong on my car, and what needs to be done. Quote by me: "I have no idea what I'm looking at right now, but it looks bad." I put a lot of trust into what they recommend, because I know it's an honest recommendation for work that will keep my car running smoothly. Another thing I love is how quickly I'm in and out. If I'm getting an oil change, I can drive up and I'm in and out in no time. Yesterday, I hit a nasty pothole which blew out my tire and scratched my rim. I was told to bring my car down (got it there at 11AM), and it was ready for me to pick up first thing this morning. I know I can expect the same when I bring my car back to get my brakes fixed; the service will be prompt, and affordable. I have to say, this is a place I can see myself going to for a long time. I know my business is appreciated (and saw that in a lovely card sent out by the family to me late last year thanking me for my patronage!), I know that I am not being nickel and dimed, and I know I can expect consistent and quality service to my "baby" (my car). It's in safe hands here, and I always recommend them when friends are looking for a mechanic.

They gave it to me for free!…read more I am new to the state. So I found Compass Auto on the web and went for my first Massachusetts inspection on Monday. Failed. Then Tuesday I took off work and fixed everything. Then went back again on Wednesday, and it failed again, on something new, not in the first inspection. Well, this is the first time I have been angry in months, maybe longer. But I was, and I told both the inspector and the front office people. Anyway, this AM they fixed the issue with the mirror that caused the second failure, then reinspected and passed. But here is the kicker: they refused to take any money for any of the repairs. I even offered to split the labor costs with them; they wouldn't take it. I was floored. I did also check several times to ensure the inspector was not going to get in trouble for what happened. I just have never had this kind of experience at a mechanic. I told them I would tell everyone, so I am! http://compassautoworks.com PS: I want to emphasize that all the mechanics at Compass Auto Works who worked on my car and the inspector himself (who also did a lot of the work) were top notch! They were fast and skilled, and most importantly, honest! The inspection miscommunication wasn't necessarily the inspector's fault, as he did find the problem during the first inspection and marked it down, but the Massachusetts inspection form did not have a check box for "side mirror" on the form and thus he marked it as "rear view mirror" and so it did not show up as a needed repair. It is so difficult to find a honest, trustworthy, reliable car shop. I am glad I did. I will not hesitate to go to Compass Auto Works in the future!
