I grew up eating Pizza King. My family got it at least every other week. I must have been living under a rock because I didn't realize Notinis had the old Pizza King. We got some to go immediately. The food is good, but it's not like Pizza King used to be, so don't go comparing the two. The regular pizza we got was much better than the stuffed, which was way salty. Still, it wasn't bad... just not reminiscent of Pizza King. The low review is based on service and staff, and price, but not food quality. We had some issues with ordering the pizza on the phone (couldn't find a way to do it online??), and when we went to pick it up almost an hour later, it wasn't ready. The staff were so... not rude, but just disinterested. No greeting... no nothing really. Felt in the way more than a paid guest, but whatever. Also, staff masks below their noses, so what's the point in wearing one? Anyway, lastly the price tag was a bit high for two pizzas. Hands down best Italian food around! Been coming here since I was a kid! Recipes haven't changed! All freshly made. Portions are beyond massive! The large spaghetti with meat sauce is the best thing! You best order some meatballs too! They're HUGE!!! The chefs salad is chefs kiss! Iced sweet tea is freshly made with fruit it's delicious! The service is always warm and welcoming! I live out of town and was soo looking forward to coming here on the rare occasion I am in town. I was here with my Dad who also loves Notinis. I dont mind paying 42 dollars for 2 small plates of spaghetti , two teas and some garlic bread. However , the garlic bread was hard and cold. The spaghetti was flavorless. The mint tea which is always so good was weak flavored with no mint in it. We asked for some soft warm bread. By the time we received the bread we had finished eating. I am done with Notinis. We ordered 2 10inch pizzas and cashier said it'll take 20mins( it was 3:04) and we said ok and paid and sat down! 40mins later(3:42) I asked cashier how much longer and she went to back with other lady and came out and told me they coming out now! Embarrassingly terrible. I remember coming here as a kid and it being so good. I wanted to bring my girlfriend here to show her the mint sweet tea and the good pasta. When we got our tea it tasted nothing like mint and the pasta was so bland that we had to load it with pepper and red pepper flakes to the point where there was more red flakes instead of pasta since the portions were the size of fist. I literally had to write this review while eating my plate that's how mad I was. The service was the only good thing about this place. Everything else is not. Well haven't been here in a very long time and I can see why!!!Who can mess up a pizza I had a cauliflower pizza was almost 30.00 dollars my husband had a salad and lasagna dinner which he left most of it on plate. Service was meh. Stood in line while the cashier answered and took two call-in orders, eventually handing off to another employee. Placing our order was fine. Salads were delivered quickly and were ok. Almost immediately after this my entree was delivered but the second entree was not. Mine turned out to be room temperature (chicken parm). I took it to the counter and asked for one that was hot. After a few minutes a new one was delivered and barely more warm than the first. We then had to ask about the pizza, which was delivered within a few minutes and was hot! Overall, the food was not great in taste or quality. The mint spiced tea was neither minty nor spiced . . . The bread, which is an integral part, tasted stale around the edges, and to order a child's plate of spaghetti-you have to order a meatball separately for $4.99! The food was alright but the portion sizes are very large so you definitely get what you pay for. I was most impressed with the mint tea (it just tastes like great sweet tea) it comes in a huge glass garnished with lemon and orange and there are free refills. So this place always looks busy...no idea why. Pasta sauce tastes like warm and flavorless except for the old world tin can taste. The French bread was burnt to a crisp yet cold and disgusting. The muffuletta I ordered had an uncut filling and was somehow...dry. The spaghetti and meatballs...their "thing" well, what it lacked in taste they make up in volume. If you are 12 and hungry it's probably ok if you get it from the school lunch line. If you pay $20 you just leave pissed off. The service? Not as good as the food. Good food and service, but their COVID precautions left much to be desired. With the exception of staff wearing masks, nothing else indicated that anyone even cared there's a pandemic on. No social distancing, separation between tables, no hand sanitizer for customers, and no mask mandate. I was the only customer wearing a mask when not eating or drinking. Wish I'd read some reviews before ordering take out. Today was apparently a rough day for the kids who worked here. There was some issue with orders printing and another issue with the phone. I tried to be understanding about the issues but it was difficult; the young ladies who worked there couldn't possibly be any more indifferent or unconcerned. The order over the phone should have been my first clue to just not bother because the young woman sounded obviously aggravated. The second clue that this was a bad idea was when I arrived, there were no smiles, no feeling of welcome whatsoever. There was an issue with my order, but I don't know what it was because they kept talking to each other instead of me. One lady started ringing me up then disappeared to the other counter to serve people dining in. Apparently they don't have waiters, and call people by number to get their food? That seemed odd. Another young lady took over my payment. I tried to be patient but i was irritated that no one apologized for the wait or confusion... they basically just seemed to interact with customers as little as possible. Now, the food. The red sauce on the lasagne was nauseatingly salty. There was little to no cheese on the lasagne. The bread was soggy and bland. The pasta seemed overcooked, but was sadly the star of the show, as most of the red sauce was pushed aside. Very, very disappointing food for the price we paid. From other reviews, it seems that the saltiness of the food is a standard. So is the decline of customer service. I doubt I'll be returning any time soon. I'm only going to say one critical sentence about them because I don't want to sell them short: they are not as good (or as affordable) as Monjunis. The lasagna and spaghetti are well made, they have a sweet dark red tomato sauce for their menu items. Please learn food safety. Do not touch food without gloves. Do not hold cheesecake against your chest. Do not break apart cheesecake slices without gloves. Spaghetti noodles were watery and not drained properly. The bread is awful, tastes like stale butter, hard like shoe leather. The Italian salad was 95% lettuce with greenish yellowish unripe tomatoes in big chunks. The price of tea is outrageous, as is the prices on all the entrees. And if you sit at a table, the chair seats are very hard and uncomfortable. The booth seats are so ancient and about a foot from the floor. The super kind lady behind the counter recommended the chicken parm sandwich when told me about their specialty mint peach sweet tea. Now, don't kill me if I butchered the tea name, but it was incredible. So, for starters, an incredibly well trained and polite staff. If you're wondering what the food like, it is very much so counter service Italian - this is not fine dining, and I don't say that in a negative light, but just to let people know in case. I personally think it's a step up in quality from the other local competitor, but others will disagree - to each their own. I had the chicken parm sandwich and it was incredible. I will say, if you're looking for a "true" chicken parm loaded with cheese and sauce, this isn't for you, but that didn't make it any less tasty. You will not got a huge glob of cheese on top, nor much more than a soft basting of said (the extra sauce automatically comes on the side. To wrap up, I will absolutely be back. Prices are incredible and all the other customers food looked incredible. It's an 8-18 dollar meal depending on you getting an actual pasta dish or something else. The pizza looked incredible, can't wait to try it. Most importantly don't forget to check out and support this local spot - you won't regret it. The setup here is pretty strange. When you step in you think you're getting a waiter served, sit down, italian dining experience with nice decor and seating, but really it's just casual italian much like the chain Fazolis but with better food. While Fazolis is obviously your typical chain fast food, Notinis one ups them here. I ordered a small 8 inch size cheese pizza with onions and green peppers ($6.89). This size is plenty for one person with a large hunger. Their pizza is obviously homemade, as it takes thirty to forty minutes to make. It's worth it though. It comes out mouth burning hot. The crust is a perfect mix between a thin crust and hand tossed. While I've had better pizza, this isn't bad. They give you a ton of food for your money too. The bread they give you with the meal is a little bland, and pretty basic, but with some marinara it's alright. The employees are really friendly and helpful. I haven't tried many italian places in the area, so I don't know how this compares, but it's not bad. I'd at least give it a try. read more
