I previously submitted a review of this horrifically bad airline but, thinking I would be able to edit it afterwards, I submitted it even before departing on my first (and last) flight on it. Since apparently I cannot edit the previous one, and I had not yet had the opportunity to experience the unbelievably bad service in-flight, I thought I had better submit this follow up review. Just to excerpt a few comments from my previous review:
"Pretty f*cking awful"
"Demeaning" and "ghetto"
"DO NOT FLY THIS AIRLINE"
Now, for the in flight experience:
After you settle into your coach seat which was advertised as business class, you notice there are no typical business class amenities. No headphones. Thin cheap blanket. Plastic-y inexpensive construction. Seven seats across. Dirty stained floor. All scream not just "budget", not even just "Third World", but "lowest of the low end".
After taking off 1 1/2 hours late and flying for four hours, you realize that you have literally not seen a flight attendant since the plane took off. Not once. Not walking through the cabin. Not offering food or drinks, or even water. Not one. Literally.
So you walk up to the galley where a flight attendant is standing behind a curtain. She glares at you angrily and says, "you need something?" Swallowing the impulse to say that you need at least a veneer of politeness, you say "may I have a glass of water"? She silently points at a tray where a plastic cup half-filled with water is sitting out. No ice. No lime. No cocktail napkin. Certainly no glass. Just a plastic cup with lukewarm water.
You take it and as you turn to go you notice that the flight attendant, with the same angry look, is silently holding open the lid to a trash container. You take that to mean that you are supposed to consume the water while standing there, then throw away the cup. You do so. She glares at you. You say, "thank you". She does not respond, just turns away in disgust.
That is the last that you see of that flight attendant, or any flight attendant, for the next 6 1/2 hours. No food. No drinks. No asking after your well-being. Nothing.
When, an hour before landing, a different, nicer flight attendant finally comes by and asks if you would like coffee, you say "yes--with milk please." She is actually rather pleasant, and brings it to you. But then you have a dilemma. You would like another cup, but you are fearful that asking for one could result in derisive laughter, a reprimand, or possibly even violence. You finally get up the nerve and, when the original bad attitude attendant comes by and angrily (and silently) grabs your empty cup, you say "may I have another cup of coffee, please"?
This appears to be highly offensive and possibly the first time any passenger has made such an audacious request. She rolls her eyes, glares at you, and--without asking how you would like your coffee--stalks off. She then returns with a cup of black coffee, places it on your tray, glares again, and--again without saying a word--stalks away.
You don't like your coffee black and you are concerned that Ms. Attitude may have doctored it in retaliation for your effrontery in asking for a second cup, so you ask the more pleasant flight attendant if she can put some milk in it, and then mention "by the way, your colleague seems to be really angry, I hope that the coffee isn't tainted." You are only half-joking. However, two minutes later, Ms. Attitude strides down the aisle, stops at your seat, and demands "do you have a problem with me?" You respond, "well, you seem to be really angry and hostile for no reason." She spits out, "based on what?" You say, "based on each of our interactions to date." She then turns to a Danish lady across the aisle, who speaks no English, and demands "Do I seem hostile and angry to you?" She then asks the same question of the Japanese couple in front of her, who stare at her uncomprehendingly. Ms. Attitude then turns to you, sneers, and says "See? It's three against one." You respond, "very convincing argument." But you are thinking, "this could possibly be the least professional, rudest, most hostile person you have ever encountered in any service industry."
You once again repeat the conclusion of your review: DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, FLY ON THIS AIRLINE. EVER. read more
