    Original maid rite. Tenderloin plain
    Tim B.

First off -all the people complaining about bad customer service are being too sensitive. I had extremely friendly experience when ordering and while eating in, saw continued friendly service and it was busy. Ordered the Original w/everything and the tenderloin *plain. Both were as good as always. Not much else to say other then the loose sandwich is a staple in Iowa and give it a try. My only gripe is they are a little small for $4

    Cheese Rite sandwich

I was driving back to Kansas City from Chicago and remembered seeing Maid-Rite on one of the Food Channel shows many years ago and knew it was an old Iowa institution. I looked up and found a location that was on my route and was able to perfectly time my lunch. All I remember from the food show was that the sandwiches were "loose meat" sort of like sloppy joes, but no sauce. I ordered the Cheese Rite (classic with cheese) and fries. The flavor was good and it really is just a simple sandwich with great seasoning, but there isn't much too it. Clearly it remains a local favorite based on the number of people already there around 11:00. I give a solid 3.5 stars. It was a good and reasonably priced lunch from a local establishment that has stood the test of time and I would definitely recommend trying at least one when in Iowa.

i ordered vanilla and instead i got milk with mustard in: people in the restaurant were giving me bad looks and the services was bad

DONT RECOMMENDED. I went to the bathroom and ants were crawling on the walls. they bathroom stank

Great find! We haven't had Maid-Rites in ages. This popped up while we were at a baseball game. Based on the former reviews, I wasn't expecting a lot. But this is just how I remember! Kind, helpful people all around with the SAME INCREDIBLE food as always. :)

If you come to this Mullets location when there are activities at either the Fieldhouse or the diamonds/soccer fields, expect parking to be a nightmare. Norwalk just hasn't made enough parking spots for the complex as a whole and unfortunately, that has to be hard on these businesses. If you cannot find a spot, how are you supposed to come enjoy. When you do find a day that has ample parking, the interior is really spacious and can accommodate many. We've had friendly service with good attention both times I've been. If you are a "fancy" coffee drinker and that's what you're wanting, you won't find it here. They'll serve you a black coffee with some creamer and sugar options. I'm not a lover of their water cups. They are metal and so very cold to handle. They also sweat quickly so are very drippy. My husband loves them. To each their own. The breakfast food has been good both times. I got the Seafood Hash the first time and questioned it having cheese but figured they know what they're doing. It was yummy all together. I couldn't finish it all and it reheated well at home. The second time I had the Cinnamon Roll pancakes meal. Those pancakes were delicious! I took two of them home and they also reheated well. Mullets is a solid addition to Norwalk for breakfast.

We saw there were a few table so we decided to try it with the intention to be quick. Boy am I glad we did! Started with the sunrise juice, a carrot juice blend and the homemade strawberry lemonade both were so fresh and delicious. We tried the brown sugar and cinnamon pop tart and that was heaven in my mouth. So much flavor and goodness. I ordered the limoncello French toast and it is a slice of fresh baked lemon bread made into French toast. The flavors were rich and the texture was fluffy. A must try while it's in season. Others got the turkey and avocado Benedict and the pancakes with eggs and bacon. All cooked to perfection. Our server Jess was so nice and we did tip her well for being so last minute, but to our credit we were out of there at 6 mins after closing while everyone was still working to close up. Service is usually stellar and the location is fairly convenient with lots of parking (in the back too!) My only complaint is that my friend I go to the restaurant with who is in a wheelchair due to mobility issues has to park in back and roll all the way around the building. Its fine on a nice day, but sucks if its extra warm or super cold. I know this isnt the fault of the restaurant, but the building owners . The ambiqnce is fine, if its busy it get a little louder than I'd like. Maybe some strategically placed sound dampening tiles? I get the industrial look, but with the concrete floors, its a bit of an echo chandler when itw busy.

Now, I love a good breakfast and brunch place, especially when it isn't a crowded chain place. This place fits that bill. It is a local place with two locations. The menu is brilliantly "evil" making it extremely difficult to choose just one dish to try. They all look amazing and delicious, so of course, you will need to visit more than once to enjoy all that they have to offer. During my visit, I tried their cinnamon roll pancakes with eggs and bacon. Oh boy are they incredible! The pancakes just melt in your mouth, full of flavor. The eggs were a classic standard of scrambled eggs and the bacon I ordered crispy as I like a good crunch. My companion ordered the Hobo Scramble and just loved it. She made sure to take some home to enjoy for a second time. All in all, I enjoyed my experience and look forward to my next visit and delicious meal.

As has been the case on each of our visits, the food and atmosphere were off the charts. The service wasn't quite as prompt this morning as what I've become accustomed to, but the experience was still great. Best of all...I saw that they now have a daily Happy ("Flocktail") Hour everyday before they close - and it is a 50% Off special - so now I can add them to HappyHourDesMoines.com also!! Today, my wife ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and a Bloody Mary (see pictures) - and with all of the new items on the menu, our friend ordered the Smoked Corn Beef Hash (see picture) and I went with the Healthy Hatch Tacos (see picture). I swapped one of my tacos with our friend for 1/2 of his hash, sampled my wife's Chicken Fried Steak - and can assure you that you will NOT go wrong ordering any of them, as all were absolutely delicious!

They kept telling us they were short staffed but that just sounds like excuses. The two waitresses outside were not busy, it was manageable just unorganized. Too bad, it looked promising but when someone has to do your job (asking to buss tables, looking high and low for silverware), that's bad business.

It's a nice, clean, country-esque little space on Jordan Creek Parkway. They have an attractive menu featuring locally sourced meats and other products. The pork was tender, had a wonderful flavor with hints of tomatillo and lime with a lot of green chili and tomatillo salsa over the top of nicely cooked homemade fried potatoes. My two eggs over medium were on top with pico de gallo. My only knock would've been my eggs were more over done than over medium, but we're splitting hairs at that point. My wife's biscuit and gravy featured a lovely fluffy biscuit with an ample helping of sausage gravy with eggs and some of the same nice fried potatoes. I had a coffee which was fine.
