I originally discovered the Berry Patch on Social and saved it on maps, knowing that at some point we'd make it! Well that day was today! When we pulled up the parking lot was quite full and the lines were long, but they moved relatively quickly, which we were thankful for. They have a lot of flavors to choose from, including options with a slice of pie or cobbler that are sweet and honestly delicious. If you're into ice cream this a place definitely worth adding to your bucket list, as you try multiple flavors on each visit and never have the same one twice. Seating is somewhat limited on a busy day, but they do have numerous chairs and a outdoor picnic area. It was fun to see adults and kids alike both enjoying a wide variety of flavors. They of course have several portion sizes available ranging from kids cups to a quart size cups and some that appear even larger if you're looking to indulge! Overall, if you're traveling off the beaten path and need a break, the Berry Patch is a great stop, especially when it's hot to grab a delicious ice cream from a super unique giant berry building! They also have some tacky concrete statues to add to your yard, if your into that. I was going to buy one I saw on our last visit but they didn't have it this time. It was gargoyle and in big letters at the base it said "GO AWAY" Lol! They also have clean restrooms, cold drinks and ice cream. On this trip we scored one of the sweetest cantaloupes we have had all year, some plump, juicy tomatoes that made some great BLT's and some silver queen corn. The wife also picked ups some Bee Balm and Lantana to add to the flower garden to attract more bees, butterflies and humming birds. We bought all of that for just a little over $18.00 incl. tax. All staff we have dealt with have been friendly and thanks us for shopping there. If you are coming down Hwy 74 (Andrew Jackson Hwy) from the SC beaches stop in, unless that is you don't like farm fresh produce, along with plants and flowers at reasonable prices.

She read good things and the hours were perfect for us to stop in on a beautiful Saturday morning in August. They are open every Saturday morning, April through December from 8am-12pm. We arrived about 10am and it was very busy. The main parking lot was full and there was a small line of cars trying to find parking spots. We continued on to the overflow parking area closer to the river bank and there was plenty of parking available. We walked up to the location of the market which is a covered area providing shelter from inclement weather and the hot summer sun. The variety of the different booths is diverse. Everything from fresh vegetables, canned salsas, jams and jellies, baked goods, pottery, frozen meat, and fresh flower bouquets. We enjoyed seeing all the various items and ultimately bought a package of six S'mores cookies which were incredibly delicious! It's been quite some time since we've been to a farmers market and this is a great one. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

You'll find a great deal on avocados from Mexico priced at 3 for $2.50 and a regular deal on bananas at $0.59/lb. Incidentally, most bananas are not local unless you live within 20 degrees of either side of the equator. You'll also find maple syrup from New York which, as you may know, is the source of some of the finest maple syrup on the planet. RFM also sells plenty of Amish Wedding foods. AW has had some labeling issues in the past, leaving out ingredients like salt or sugar on a couple of products, but the FDA publicly shamed them in 2010 so it's possible that they've improved their ingredient labeling process. Don't hate. Just be aware. Overall, the produce is in great shape. It's fresh and there is a relatively large selection. There are meats, cheeses and eggs here as well. You can get some sugary drinks too, like Nehi, Cheerwine, Fanta, and Jarritos. They even sell Pepsi. Wide variety of products and many are reasonably priced. Anyway, it's refreshing to see a farmer's market close to a military base so that soldiers can fuel up their machines with some healthy things rather than junk food and Americanized Asian. It's not perfect, but for the location, it's one of the best markets in the area.
