The main reason I switched from my original carrier (of over 35 years) was lack of personal attention and the inability to speak with a human (easily)-they have all gone to the broker model. We still needed more information to get the quote finalized, and Noah came to our house on the following Monday. What a breath of fresh air. I spoke with Operations Manager, Kristina Olson, for nearly an hour and she happily - no, gleefully - ran through quite a few scenarios to help me understand the policies in more detail. She listened to my concerns and goals and set out to craft policies that not only surpassed my goals, but saved me hundreds of dollars in the process. She left no stone un-turned and seemed genuinely thrilled to be helping me save money as we watched the rate repeatedly drop. I daresay she even made it seem fun... By the time she was done, I'd saved several hundred bucks on the home policies and almost $100 on my auto policy while maintaining the exact same coverage. I've never been impressed by an insurance company. Like, ever. Until now. One more thing that I really loved: my call went right here to the Bend office and not some far-off call center - this allowed us to chit-chat about relevant local things while the system was crunching numbers. Not being placed on hold or subjected to lengthy spans of dead-air was nice.

my roof was damaged in the big hail storm we had last August. I got two estimates for the damages…read more one for $18000 and one for $17000. State farm adjuster came and spent 10 minutes on my roof and then they rejected my claim saying the only damage was that my 11 roof vents were all destroyed and replacing them would be under my $1000 deductible. I got an estimate from Deschutes Roofing to replace them for $1605. State Farm would only have to pay $605. they rejected it and told me to find someone who will do it for under my deductible. this has been going on for over a month. I have never filed a claim for auto or home in the 13 years I have been with State Farm. The office staff is very cordial but they just keep saying, claims are not their job and there is nothing they can do. so be aware if you ever have to file a claim State Farm will fight you at every turn. I contracted with another roofing company for $6500 to do all the roofing repairs and I will have to pay for it all.
