State farm adjuster came and spent 10 minutes on my roof and then they rejected my claim saying the only damage was that my 11 roof vents were all destroyed and replacing them would be under my $1000 deductible. I got an estimate from Deschutes Roofing to replace them for $1605. State Farm would only have to pay $605. they rejected it and told me to find someone who will do it for under my deductible. this has been going on for over a month. I have never filed a claim for auto or home in the 13 years I have been with State Farm. The office staff is very cordial but they just keep saying, claims are not their job and there is nothing they can do. so be aware if you ever have to file a claim State Farm will fight you at every turn. I contracted with another roofing company for $6500 to do all the roofing repairs and I will have to pay for it all.

They go out of their way to call me / help me with the process, walk me through it, and Greg is just the "right kind" of brutally honest. Hey, if they can cover it, they got us, and if they can't, then they can't, they don't dink me around, and I understand. Yes, the initial quote was a little less than the final result, but Greg was honest, gave us a rough number, told us it was rough, and then through every step of the way, he made sure to keep in contact, make sure we were still good with everything, checked to see if there were options to keep it as close to the original quote as possible, compared our old and new policies with me, and that REALLY made a difference. I HATE bad surprises when it comes to how much something is going to cost. I HATE feeling like I've been lied to when I'm setting up insurance for a client's property and they're trusting ME to do them, good, because that just makes me look stupid. Greg made sure none of that would be the case, let me ask every stupid question under the sun (cause I don't know ANYTHING about insurance and every policy I've ever read might as well be in ancient latin for as understandable as it is), and I have felt good about getting my clients set up with him - and my clients (farmers) have been grateful for the better insurance, lower cost, and having access to Greg and his team if needed. We are at a WAY lower rate and the coverage is excellent (Which - when you have a middle man, I've found out is rarely the case - but not with Greg and his team). Now - hopefully, we never have to use it, right? And, I don't know how it will turn out if we did (knocking on wood), but I have every reason to feel confident with Greg and his team. He knows farmers, he knows farms, and he understands the industry. I have recommended others to him and will continue to do so. It's funny - cause I always see those commercials "Like a good neighbor, state farm is there" - well, so far, they've lived up to every bit of the hype and I'm grateful for it. In these tough economic times, having someone who will take care of people and save them money, and be proactive with- is the kind of service that my clients, like the farmers I work for, deserve to have. Frankly, I'm so tired of greedy people who are taking advantage of farmers and others in these rough economic conditions, it makes me sick - and Greg Elder, you sir - and State Farm, have been a welcome change. These guys cover a LOT more than farmers, but if you have a farm -call and get a quote. It's WAY worth it. And, to be clear, I 'maybe' write a review for someone "once" in a blue moon - because in I.T. and as a business analyst, my reputation (and especially word of mouth with farming communities) IS EVERYTHING, and I am very good at my job and sustain my reputation - so it takes a lot for me to want to do a positive review - especially a 5-star review... We were paying a one time quote price and told her several times this is just a one time payment with a different card. She then put that card on autopay anyway. Then when I called, David tried to tell me that , that card was on auto pay this entire time which it wasn't, wasn't till the end of the call that he realized I was right that that card was just used for a one time payment and should've been used for auto pay. Very unprofessional and I'm glad I caught it before my due date. Will be looking elsewhere for insurance and since I have a lot of viewers from being a DJ will let people know not to use this agent if they want State Farm. Sucks cus this was the company I was first insured with when I first got my license at 15.
