I was quoted $3500 to remove an oak tree. During removal they lost control of a major limb and damaged another smaller tree knocking it halfway down. When they returned in the morning the smaller tree had fallen down. When done they tried to charge me $400 to remove the tree they damaged. They also tried to charge me and additional $500 for a lift that they mentioned would be needed when they quoted the $3500. They left the lower three foot portion of the small tree trunk blocking part of the crick which will inhibit flow. They also left a four foot tall stump from the oak tree they were supposed to cut down. The owner told me they would take care of those two items when I paid him but they didn't. When I reached out to him he indicated they weren't going to do any more free work for me. They never did any free work they just tried to overcharge me $900. They showed a discount on the bill for $900 like they were doing me a favor so the total would be the $3500 they quoted. Their cleanup was not as good as Evergreen Tree service who recently did some work for us. If they would have completed the work and not tried to overcharge me, I would probably have given them at least 4 stars. They have shown themselves to be disreputable in my experience with them and I would shy away from contracting them for work. My suggestion his prices are fair but don't prepay him and don't let him work around anything he might require insurance for I contacted William in October about the removal of three trees . 2 were smaller jobs which were pay upon completion and the third was a larger job quoted at 3500 half up front and other half upon completion . The first two went well. My only issue with those 2 now is upon reading the other google reviews I got damn lucky no one hit my house. I say that not because they did a bad job but because Will told me he was insured. However, if you look further down in the reviews wills crew cracked a man's concrete and in Wills response to this man he is claiming he is not responsible because he contracted the job out. The thing is Will labels all his guys self contractors for tax purposes though it does seem they act as employees so I think that could be challenged . Also from what I've read I could be wrong the company you hire is responsible for making sure anyone they hire is insured so will probably should have and probably still could be sued to fix said concrete . third tree job I gave William 1750 on 10/17 he was to cut my tree down oct 24th he did not call he did not show I eventually got ahold of him and he set up a new date he did this a few times but then decided he didn't have enough guys so was gonna give my money back nov. 29th sent back 700 had spent the rest . We made another deal for that since my money was gone he could remove 1/4th the tree for 800 he agreed but this also drug on past the new year . I ask him to cut mine and my mom's tree down. On mine he said he would trim one tree and cut down another. My mom's he said he would cut down and would have them in movable pieces. He told me he would have it done and if I could pay him before I went to work. I did thinking he seems like a honest enough guy. As soon as I left to work I checked my cameras he leff. Said he would be back that day and didn't show up for another 10 days. Do not fall for the sad story of him being a single dad either. He used that multiple times . If you like a lot of talk and no action this is the company for you, will the owners word is worthless! They charged me $300 for one man when I was promised to for 2 hours did not complete the job took the money said they'd be back the next day and then they blew me off week after week so I had to hire another crew to finish the simple job of yard cleanup. read more
