I've tried a variety of apps and a personal trainer in the past few years, but lost momentum with each when I didn't see the progress I was hopeful for. Intense calorie counting and going to the gym with an unorganized fitness plan was too draining and they did not support a quality of life that would produce sustainable, long-term results for me. The combination of accountability and resources through her app with the weekly calls has been very helpful to keep me on track and stay motived. The balance of macro-nutrient management and cardio/weight lifting has really made a difference in my body. I started to notice that previously unwearable boots fit well and pants that I had relegated to the back of my closet because they never fit were actually loose. This was incredibly motivating because it seemed easy. Even though I hadn't been as diligent in my workouts as I had hoped, I was still experiencing great results that were easily attainable for my very busy social and professional lifestyle. I had tried another lifting trainer nearby who just didn't work out, when I came to Camie to try working out with her. She's been wonderful for my physical and mental health ever since! She not only helped me with my goal of losing weight (40lb+ down and still losing), but also helped me with my nutrition and my last year's cardio goals as well of running my first marathon this past month. We all have different goals (add muscle mass, lose weight, improve conditioning, etc), but to get results sometimes you just need someone else to lay it out for you and hold you accountable. I'm currently maintaining the most muscle mass in my life with noticeable improvements in strength, while the wifey has slimmed down a ton while adding muscle as well. We're all human and have flaws (cheat days) which she understands, but she'll hold you accountable for your poor diet and is always suggesting nutrition improvements. The workout space is in a building suite, with all the weights, machines, training equipment, etc. This isn't a typical gym; there are no cardio treadmills/ ellipticals/ bikes, but you can get the same effect with what she has you do (what trainer wants to watch you do cardio anyways?). The workouts are kept challenging and tailored to your end goal, as she pushes you to the max. She trains all age ranges from teens to seniors, individuals and small groups as well. Camie will be challenging, but at the same time everybody grows close (you can talk about anything and everything) as everyone operates on similar work out schedules. Definitely recommend her, and her loyal clients would probably agree as well.

I used to be scared of spending days in pain after a workout, but after working out with Nev, I feel like a completely different person! Nev listens and takes all my issues and goals into consideration, which combined with her deep and intuitive understanding of biomechanics has worked wonders for me. For the first time, I can work out safely and without pain! Nev has not only helped me get stronger, but also importantly works with me to build a strong foundation for progressively more challenging workouts. I just ran the Mercer Island 10k, and did so much better than expected - and am now excitedly gearing up for the Rock & Roll half marathon in June. The group meets Wed. evenings for track workouts at Garfield High, and Saturday mornings for group runs around the city. (Bonus: the Saturday runs always begin and end at a different coffee shop, so the group can reconvene after the run over some coffee and food.) It's been close to a year since I joined her, and I feel healthy and strong. Her background in designing games is evidenced by how creatively she structures her workouts - and her knowledge of the little pockets of the city is a real treat when you are running with her. She also offers bootcamp-style "strength and stamina" classes on weekday mornings, nutrition coaching, in addition to a monthly fitness challenge that you can participate in via Facebook (and win some money if you hit your goal!) The groups she attracts are non-judgmental, non-intimidating, and encouraging - so even if you are just starting out, or doing more walking than running, there is a spot for you!
