Similar situation was happening to the headliner in certain areas. Isaac said he would order new fabric for the doors, as well as headliner, then schedule for reupholstering once the fabric arrived. In the meantime, Isaac did re-glue an area of the headliner as well as tuck some of the door fabric into the door trim to give a better appearance until reupholstering could take place. Unfortunately, the area Isaac glued on the headliner failed after two days. After 1.5 months of waiting to hear from Isaac, I decided to call to get a status update on when the fabric was arriving and the reupholstery service could be scheduled. Having not received a return phone call after two days, I called again. Isaac still has not responded. My recommendation is to skip Jerome's Custom Upholstery, specifically Isaac who handles auto reupholstery, and find an auto upholstery shop with better customer service with experienced upholstery installers. I value my time and money, so will seek an upholstery shop with similar values.

I spent $2k with Jerome's and it's money out the window. The workmanship was so bad. Piping was installed wrong. Welds done with JB Weld so brackets broke.

I can't say enough good things about Armstrong Family Autocare without sounding like a paid…read morepromoter or something, but believe me, this was an OUTSTANDING car repair experience!! Be honest: how many mechanics have you dealt with who actually aim to reduce the cost of the service?! Alex did!! My old '99 Voyager was acting wonky; it would start but then some components would work while others wouldn't.. one day the windows operated, but the wipers or heater fan wouldn't; the next day NONE of them worked; the next day they all worked fine.. and so on and so on Got a brand new top-of-the-line Napa battery.. didn't help .. so then I had the alternator tested by 3 different places who all said it had a bad diode, so I reached out to a few companies here, got quotes, and Armstrong's was the most reasonable price (plus nearby my place) so I brought the Voyager in, crossing my fingers that some unknown -expensive- additional work wouldn't be urged on me, as I've frequently experienced with other repairs Long story short, Alex told me it actually wasn't the alternator being bad, it was the ignition switch, and I gotta be honest and say I was hugely skeptical because the other companies had advised me to get a new alternator, why would they recommend it if it wasn't the problem? ...but I decided to trust Alex, and the repair cost was literally HALF the cost of replacing the alternator (which was already a very reasonable price!) But this morning was the iron test: would everything work like it did when I picked up my vehicle? IT SURE DID --the wipers, the windows, the heater fan ALL WORKED AT THE SAME TIME!! That hasn't happened in forever! LOL This review is getting long but I wanted to share the deets because frankly, given the symptoms, the tests AND my belief in the test results... Alex could have very easily done the cheaper ignition repair but said nothing and charged for the more expensive alternator replacement that I was asking for -and I wouldn't have known the difference and would've just been happy to have things working- but he was honest and upfront and didn't take advantage of my ignorance.. like other shops around here have done or tried to do to me in the past How awesome is THAT?! So believe me when I say that everyone reading this who might be searching for a mechanic they can trust as much as they'd trust a friend to do the work (if they had the skills) .....look no further This is a good person who does good work! ~~listen to Grandma, now~~

They were not only friendly but in the 45 mins I was there managed to give me a pdf with pictures and videos of my vehicle color coded in green, yellow, and red. Green being good to go, yellow being problems needed to be look at in the near future, and red being problems that needed to be addressed right now. All with explanations and questions further answered by the manager who explained it to me well esp for someone with no car knowledge. The manager was really upfront with me telling the costs of those repairs and if I was looking to buy a new car it might be cheaper to get a new one. I've had mine for 11 years that's been on multiple cross country road trips and I was not responsible enough to do good maintenance on it. It really made me trust them. I did not feel like I was getting hustled whatsoever which is something I'm sure everyone fears going into the auto shop. Not to mention they were dog friendly, had free coffee, and a record player with various records available for you to play. I got my vehicle within the hour. They gave me a new air freshener, thank you card with a company pen / business card inside, and they included a keychain with a punch card for a reward after some visits. Like wow! You can't ask for more.

Overall I am happy with the result, but there was some lack of attention to detail that I noticed. 1) On the first day of the 2-day installation, they finished working before I got home from work. My front door had been left wide open with nobody there after they left. I have no idea how long it was open before I got home, and nothing was taken from the house, but it was still annoying. 2) Caulking was forgotten on one of the windows when the trim was fully reassembled. In other places, the caulking was very messy or on spots of the trim where there was no reason for it to be. 3) Due to the age of this house (1940) and the construction of the old windows, some wood had to be added to fill a gap between the new window frame and the existing wooden sill on the exterior. Rather than cutting 3/4" pieces of new wood to fill the gap with, they used old wood that had been taken from elsewhere in the old window assemblies. This is unpainted, untreated wood that is exposed to the elements and at risk of rotting now until I can paint it.

Cunningham Tuning is a basically one man shop, Scott is the founder, owner, and lead mechanic. He is a soft-spoken, friendly, and confident mechanic. I brought my VW TDI to Scott shortly after I bought it used. I had some history of the vehicle but, not being mechanically inclined, wasn't really sure what I had. Scott was honest and spoke in terms I could understand regarding what needed to be done and, important to me, in what order. He is ASE certified and has lots of experience with VWs/Audis (he also works on other import brands). He clearly knows these cars inside and out. That's the kind of mechanic I like, an expert. I have now had Scott work on my car 4 times and I couldn't be more pleased. Scott's depth of experience comes through in his estimates and ability to explain the work that needs to be done. All of his estimates have been spot on (always a nice thing when on a budget). Repair times have been as expected. So there have been no surprises. How about that for a car mechanic? No surprises! That's unheard-of in the car repair world. Scott's hourly rate is very, very competitive, I would say it is lower than every other car repair shop I have used. Scott has managed to make a very good business for himself. He is open daily 8 AM to 2 PM. I admire him for his expertise, his ability to keep my car in good operating order, and he does it all on his own making sure he maintains a work/life balance.

In fact, he encouraged me to get other opinions and estimates. The other shop I went to gave me bids that were much higher than what I was given at Cunningham. So many other places I felt like I would get the run around. It's a very professional shop - it's pretty new so I hope they do well. After the repair, Scott called me to make sure everything was running well. Other shops should take note of Scott Cunningham. He's definitely a sharp guy and great at customer service.
