I met up with my sister for dinner. She wanted to check out the foodhall at the mall. We were surprised at the restaurants there. Half of the selection were asian food. We decided on asian. First stop at noodle garden, this is hmong owner. We ordered chicken wings, rice, sausage, and it comes with spicy sauce. The food was delicious, spicy sauce made the meat taste perfection. My sister ordered bubble tea and fried dough from Mochi Sweet. She said the bubble tea was too sweet for her but the fried dough was delicious. It reminded her like dim sum. Came with dipping sauce. Would definitely go back to try the other restaurants. read more

I seriously have not been to this mall since the early 80s which is where this place seems to have been left. The only reason we visited was because my son wanted to look at puppies and I didn't know of any other pet places that actually still sold pets, so we wandered in here and found the pet store. The pet store just made me sad seeing all the little puppies in their small cages waiting to be picked and the prices were just beyond expensive. I will save it for a breeder. Mall is old and really outdated. Herbergers (which is closing and looked like it had been torn apart my jackals, Home Depot, Best Buy, Burlington all attached to the mall. I really only go here because it's close to my house. Gives me Brookdale Mall vibes (if anyone remembers that place). I walked in around 4 & most of the stores were closed (maybe staff were out to lunch or something, I don't know). Seems like a mall of boutiques. They have the basics here, that's it. They close at 8pm on Saturday which is early & lame. The food court has about 6 or so places to eat. Just outside of the mall there's a few more places to eat & shop. Smaller, quiet mall. Good for getting your steps in! Parking is usually decent, never really feels super busy. read more

It has some pretty good stores and is great workout, my favorite is the pet store where my family purchased our best pets there. I just dislike how many of the stores are closing. A lot of my favorites are now gone, but this is a pretty cool mall to hang out and shop. read more

I only came here to visit Burlington Coat Factory...since the one closer to me, in Saint Louis Park is lacking...but this one is worse! A highlight of the Mall is the pet store, Four Paws and a Tail. The owner takes great care of the animals and makes sure her suppliers are responsible breeders. When you get a puppy from a rescue organization you never know what kind of a dog you are getting. Even if the dog was in good shape when it arrives at a rescue place they frequently have to be euthanized because they are traumatized by staying too long. The puppies at Fore Paws seldom stay long and they get exercise with puppies outside their display cases. They also will not sell to anyone they have suspicions that they will not take care of their new pet. I suspect most if not all of their bad reviews are from animal rights people who have never been to the store. read more

Security was called on me because I took pictures in a pet store. I stopped taking pictures when the store asked called 4 paws and a tail. Yet they called security to ask me to not take pictures. I had already deleted them from my camera roll. Recoverable, ok sure. But not worth the stress. I then took a picture outside the store for a post. No one asked me to stop in the mall in general. They said it was policy in the entire mall. I have seen many people taking pictures here and not a word said to them. I won't be back. read more

Live nearby and enjoy having this mall nearby to walk when it's cold out. I've noticed quite a few shops close down lately and more junk stores move in. Hopefully it will rebound but I have a feeling this is just another sign showing the death of retail. I cannot stand the "store" that rents out the animal mobiles to anyone with $10. Have you gotten it yet that it's a small mall. It's all on one level. Every so often they have a craft show by the food court, I believe it's by Best Buy entrance in the back. A lot of times some of the local mystery authors will be signing books in a booth. That's why I make the trek, to support them. I didn't take the time to shop here. Why would you unless you live out here. And everybody in town is at the mall. I was impressed that they have a perfume emporium of some sort and they carry some vintage brands also. Some decent seating in the middle. Downside there's a lot of construction going on and I'm not sure when it ends. read more

I cannot in good conscious shop at this mall, knowing they allow Four Paws and a Tail to continue doing business there. Just because a business has been around for a long time, does not make it okay to continue doing the wrong thing. No "reputable breeder" would sell dogs to a pet store, which tells you these puppies are coming from puppy mills. Several people have contacted me stating their puppies have been sick or have died that have come from Four Paws and a Tail. They are deceiving customers and not caring about the welfare of these animals, simply so they can make a profit. Many cities are putting bans in place to prevent the sale of puppies at kittens at pet stores, and for good reason. Please do research before purchasing and consider boycotting the mall and voicing your reason as to why, until changes are made. Four Paws and a Tail doesn't need to close, they could simply adapt to the Humane Business Model and assist local rescues and shelters with adoption days, which other places have had great success with! read more

I walk this mall everyday with my sister, it is a comfortable and clean mall. The thing they are missing is more relevant stores. Would be great to see Kohl's, Macy's or something like that at the mall. Would like to see a store that has name brands clothes and a variety of other items. The options for stores is low. I would hate to see this mall close because they can't draw customers in. They do keep trying to add places of interest and they are making changes. read more

It is a dying mall. The owners have put money into renovations the past couple of years but it just can't seem to pull out of the Brooklyn Center death spiral. If it wasn't so close to Herradura (giving us a place to walk off margarita's) we would rarely come here. read more

Love visiting this mall when we come to town. Definitely not a huge tourist attraction like the Mall of America. This mall is pretty small, but carries a variety of local and well-know stores. We never leave without making purchases. They currently have local business vendors set up in the center isles with some nifty little finds. Great sales happening. They do have a good court with a great selection, including, tacos, burgers, sandwiches, Asian, and ice cream. I don't think we have ever had a problem finding a parking spot and every store employee we come across is always friendly and helpful. Always a pleasant trip and a great way to spend the afternoon. This review is for the Burlington store- Don't expect much when it comes to customer service, but do expect good deals on Carter's and other better brand items for kids/babies. I like Northtown because no one goes here. I'm sure we'll start seeing closures and stores leaving sooner or later, but for now I can walk through and enjoy short lines and small crowds. For retailers who work or own shops there, it has to be a dissapointment. It's kept clean, I dont worry about safety, and there are 3-4 stores I even like. Food Court is nothing special, steak escape is now closed. If you dont live by it, I wouldn't go there, just not much to do or see. But for a crowd hating, mall hating person, I enjoy the quiet that is Northtown. read more

I have seen quite a few empty stores that once housed some standard brand mall stores like AE, express, etc. The food court is also small with nothing really special. The only reason that I ever came here was to go in Best Buy and then walk the mall for a bit. There is also Burlington here, but omg it's such a horror. This mall is outdated, and has a poor selection of stores. Many staple mall stores, such as American Eagle and the Gap, even Kohl's, just couldn't survive at Northtown. There are quite a few non-brand name, independent stores. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but they are just not places I see myself visiting. Going to this mall is like being in a 1985 John Hughes movie. You literally feel lost in time as you walk through Northtown. The ceiling, flooring, bathrooms, lighting - everything really - is outdated and, to be frank, dumpy. Northtown also seems to be experiencing a "de-malling" of sorts, as the former Ward's store was torn down years ago to make room for a standalone Home Depot. Then, LA Fitness took over a significant portion of the interior section of the mall. Most recently, they are taking even more interior space for a new Hobby Lobby. You got to do what you got to do, I guess, but the mall has essentially been reduced to about half of its original size. There are no sit-down restaurants inside of Northtown. There is a pretty decent food court. When I do go to Northtown, I enjoy the nice Herberger's store. People watching can also be pretty interesting at this mall. Bottom line: if you want to enjoy a glass of wine and purchase a nice new suit, don't go to Northtown. If you want to find an interesting gift for someone and do a little mall walking, this is your place. read more

Yes this is a small mall. It's also an old mall. But for its age and size, it's really quite decent. I can typically find everything I need and more. The Victoria secret got remodeled about 2 years ago and it's huge! Plus, it's not as busy as rosedale. They filled the deb spot quickly with Ragstock. I love this Herbergers and Maurices location than others in the area. Plus, they have gift shows some weekends and other little stores that are awesome! Sheer treasures carries essential oils that are awesome and reasonably priced. The nail salon and oriental massage are great too. Not to mention I see security patrolling very regularly-not something I always saw at Brookdale. read more

I'm not a big fan of this mall. The stores are very limited. When I first went to the mall, I didn't know there were other stores that existed, because the layout of the mall. I used to go here because it's the mall that is half-way from where my sister and I both live when we spend time together. Apparently, there has been nothing much so we stopped going. I went to the pet store and bought two red-tail fish and the manager gave me an attitude about it. It was like she didn't even want to sell me the fish. New York & Co. used to be there. My sister made an appointment at LensCrafter and could not find it. Somehow LA Fitness is attached to the mall, but you have to walk outside to the entrance. It's really weird. I tried to figure that one out but could not. Good thing is that it's really quiet, there's not many people you have to dodge to get through. read more

This mall is undoubtedly on a slow death spiral. And I can't say that's a bad thing. Among the many bonuses of smaller crowds: 1. More sales at stores. They really, really want you to buy something. Really. 2. Less people! Which means less screaming, crying, bratty children running around all over the place. 3. Better parking available..for the most part. 4. Think post-zombie apocalypse. You walk in the doors and the place is all but empty, save for a few vending machines off to the side, an unlit merry go round thing, and the occasional sleepwalker. Uggg... Poor Northtown. 1) puppy mill shop. Kids like to look so we did. Poor puppy poo'd in his glass box, I nicely told the worker and she gave me a sarcastic "thanks" and smile and eye roll. We moved to 2) something bean coffee shop. I ordered a small breve. She grabbed a huge phonebook looking thing and began searching through it. She finally admitted to not knowing what a breve is... But works at a coffee shop, tsktsk. I schooled her, it's a latte with half n half... Nevermind just a small coffee please...the coffee tasted like used coffee grounds used from the previous day! Heinous, after 2 sips, tossed. 3) Burlington, love the selection, but the lines are painfully slow and some woman tried to pick pocket me in line!!! No joke... Last Christmas, a woman took my Burberry purse outta my cart and said she thought it was for sale!!! No b****! Burlington doesn't sell Burberry! The theft alarm is constantly going off. I was so anxious to leave I passed up many great deals. 4) Herbergers, just when I thought things were getting better... I had a coupon for a huge discount. I was excited to use it. I got a ton of things, and the cashier rang every thing up with zero discounts, I asked about the coupon, she said... Oh you can't use that on sale items, or items with this special tags, or items with.... Very annoyed with a bait and switch coupon I purchased just a pair of pants that I needed desperately. As I paid 50 bucks for them, i realized, I'm my mad dash outta Burlington I passed the same freakin pants for 19.99!!! What a rip off! I hate you too Herbergers! this goes to the clair's and the philly cheese stale food store . i'm very disappointed with how i was treated . i was yelled at while ordering my food and the person had a very strong attitude towards me for absolutely no reason . in clair's my cousins loves scrunchies so we went in , i then found a squishy but there was no price so i go and ask how much it was and she said " oh i don't know but i can check " and so then she goes to look at the bigger squishy but keep in mind the squishy i wanted was mini like the size of my thumb and she says it's 8.99 because all the other squishy are 8.99 but only the bigger squishys are 8.99 unless it was like a brand of squishys . i look at a smaller squishy about the same size but bigger and it was 4.99 , for me it wasn't about the money it was about how she only decided to look at the bigger ones and not ones the actual size . but i'm very strongly disappointed in how i was talked at the cheese stake place . read more

I have shopped at pretty much every mall in the area (from Northown to Albertville and Mall of America). This mall was just ok. They renovated some of the mall but the best looking thing is the Food Court (**caution: the workers at Steak Escape and the manager of Chinese Gourmet are creepers**) The anchor stores are Herbergers, Burlington, Becker, and Best Buy. Although I enjoy browsing in Burlington for shoes, how pathetic is this? Northtown used to have really awesome craft shows that filled up the whole mall and drew in every local. Not to mention Kohls left and took all of the customers with it :( Most of the stores like Waldens and AE have left. The only reason to come is for Best Buy or Debs (that is if you have a prom to go to). For now, I see Northtown headed in the same direction as Brookdale unless they add some spark and interest back into their choice of stores. read more

I wish SOMEONE OR SOMEWHERE I HAD THIS TO READ OR FOLLOW BY: If you ever thought of starting your own business, and "being your own boss" then think again and again for venturing into Northtown Mall. Prior to signing your lease just make sure you read all the fine prints and do not overpay their "season" rent, which November and December. The whole November except for the last week (driven by Black Friday) can be deemed "season." As part of the application, make sure you make it as broad as possible to safeguard your investment: If you're selling just kids toys like helicopters make sure to include other related items like cars, etc. Management plays favoritism: During my stay at the mall not only did they overcharge me but they limited my ability to sell. The management told us we CAN NOT demonstrate our products for fear of potential accidents whereas they turned blind side to other carts demonstrations, not just once but again and again. If they have rules it should apply to ALL. And, if you call the office trying to get some answers or help-GOOD LUCK!! If you're trying to ask for help on display ideas for your carts or stores then do not get your hopes up. You might as well throw something together on your own because to rely on the Mall help will get you NO WHERE! They might have you thinking there will be someone coming to help but Allison (who we were told will help) is no where to be seen or heard. I left the mall disappointed and at loss. The little money that I would be making I paid that in rent and some BS "service" $50 per month. BOTTOM LINE-KEEP YOUR OPTIONS OPEN AND SIGN LEASE AT A MINIMUM-SO YOU CAN LEAVE ON YOUR TERMS!
