I get several weekly visits from nurses. And aides which include supplies and getting medicines. I am given baths, washings. The staff works with us to fit our schedule too. My wife who was having to deal with so much by figuring it out on her own is greatly relieved to have this staff offering direction, providing materials and services...she would probably give them an even higher rating. I like that they come to my home and l feel comfortable asking their opinions. It is nice not having to worry about getting bed sores or other items that can become serious if not monitored. Having had a recent leg injury that led me into several sessions of wound care and physical…read moretherapy, I knew that it was time for me to take seriously my need to locate another primary care physician. After a false start visit with an IU Health physician I was referred to by the clinic, I decided that this was the perfect opportunity for me to explore my curiosity with Franciscan Health. I've always heard positive things about Franciscan Health and as someone with a ministry background, though not Catholic, I thought this type of setting might be a healing environment for me and my hope was to find a physician with whom I could build a trusting relationship so that I could avoid my usual avoidance of healthcare. Dr. Willfond is actually employed by the Franciscan Health organization and only recently joined the Cityway practice. Prior to this, I believe she was in a practice near County Line Road on the Marion/Johnson County border. As a sexual assault survivor, I will admit that whenever possible I try to use female providers, though it's certainly not always possible. For primary care, however, it was certainly my hope to find someone either close to my home or close to my work. The Cityway offices are right next to the Irsay YMCA just south of downtown. I work a little over a mile away. The building houses several Franciscan clinics including a lab, sports medicine, massage, radiology and others. The primary care offices are on the first floor. I'd considered one other Franciscan physician, but I got immediately turned off when the first words out of their mouths was "the doctor doesn't prescribe pain medication." Fortunately, I didn't have that experience with Dr. Willfond's office and that's definitely the last thing on my mind. While she's relatively new to this location, she did bring some patients with her and she did have about a 5-week wait for an initial appointment. As I had some urgency due to the leg injury, I definitely attempted to get in more quickly and actually was contacted and was able to get in 11 days earlier than my original appointment after a cancellation. I was impressed that they not only took note of my need, but they did the follow-up. The building does have paid parking, which is validated, but if you have mobility issues while driving you should know that you'll have to grab your parking ticket on the way in and you'll have to insert your ticket and validation on the way out. However, I found it worked seamlessly. There's several accessible parking spots up front and they are ADA compliant. The entryway includes automatic doors as this is a relatively new complex. As you enter the clearly marked clinic entrance, the reception desk is on the right and there's a couple small waiting areas. I was impressed with the intake call and they also called and did pre-registration that saved me, as a slightly spastic paraplegic, from having to write on those small forms the day of the appointment. I received a short video to watch prior to my appointment that basically explained what to expect and how to be prepared. I was taken to my room on time, or at least within five minutes of on time. The room was a bit small and not quite what I'd prefer to see in terms of wheelchair access. If I'd needed to get on the table, that would have been challenging, but it seemed both the nurse and Dr. Willfond adapted well. The rooms are bright and cheery, only minimally decorated and, of course, they have the Franciscan identifiers (a cross) above the door of each room. I don't know if Dr. Willfond had read my record in advance, but she was clearly informed and that gave both of us a good place to start from. As I specifically mentioned my leg concerns, I was impressed that she assertively wanted to see the leg as wrapped by my physical therapist. While the office isn't as well equipped with wrapping supplies, she made sure to re-wrap it and offered understandable clinical opinions and recommendations. Dr. Willfond listened thoroughly and even offered me sort of a "last chance" mention any other concerns. While primary care visits are always tight, I never felt rushed. In fact, handling the wrap was more involved than she expected but she followed through and addressed my concerns. It is my hope that she'll grow into a "safe" place for me to be authentic about my health and my disability while allowing someone to watch for health and skin issues. She was intelligent, informed, kind and felt safe but not in an artificial way. The nurse, as well, was absolutely top notch. If you need labs done, they have a walk-in lab on the second floor. This appointment was exactly what I'd hoped for and I was relieved that Dr. Willfond agreed to be my primary care physician.

My experience with this physical therapy practice has been extremely disappointing. Before I chose…read morethis office, I was told that my bill could be negotiated. I relied on that information when I decided to receive treatment there. Years later, that promise has not been honored, and I feel that I was given misleading information to get me through the door. I was billed around $400 per day, even though my sessions did not always last a full hour and were sometimes much shorter. Based on my experience, the way the services and billing were explained to me did not match what actually happened. I consider that misleading and believe their advertising and promises about costs were not clear or accurate. I have waited patiently for years trying to get this resolved. I also called several times and did not receive return calls. That made me feel like my concerns only mattered when money was involved. In my experience, this practice gave the impression that patient care came first, but the way my billing concerns were handled made me feel that collecting money was the main priority. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering this place get every statement about pricing, session length, discounts, insurance, and bill negotiations in writing before agreeing to treatment. I am sharing this because I do not want another person to make a major financial decision based on promises that may later change. I will continue documenting what happened, seeking legal advice, and considering complaints with the appropriate agencies regarding the billing practices and representations that were made to me.

My family and I were thoroughly disappointed. I thought they'd have professionals who knew how to work with elderly patients with dementia. Nearly every person who showed up was inconsistent and poorly trained. We had one or two staff members who seemed to know what they were doing, but nothing consistent. We left with the feeling that all they cared about was the payment they'd get for having my dad on their patient list. I have no idea how one might consider their services helpful in the least.
