Not a friendly place for kids. Waiting time is crazy. I would not recommend this place.

I recently spent two days at Northside Hospital Cherokee, and the care I received was as good…read moreas--if not better than--I could have hoped for. Every member of the staff I encountered treated me with kindness, professionalism, and genuine concern. My room was spacious, comfortable, and exceptionally clean. The Environmental Services staff did an outstanding job keeping everything spotless. On the first morning of my stay, my wife immediately commented on how clean the room looked--something she had never said during any previous hospital stay. The staff thoroughly cleaned and dusted the room, mopped the floor, and even changed the trash bag even though it was barely full. Their attention to detail did not go unnoticed. I also noticed a small device under the sink that I later learned was a Synexis air purification system. It operates so quietly that I never heard it, but I was impressed to learn that it continuously helps improve air and surface quality by generating a safe form of hydrogen peroxide. It was reassuring to see Northside Hospital Cherokee investing in technology that helps protect patients from the spread of germs. The food service exceeded my expectations. There was a wide variety of menu choices, the meals arrived on schedule, the portions were generous, the food was served at the proper temperature, and every meal was exactly what I ordered. Hospital food often gets a bad reputation, but that certainly wasn't my experience here. My discharge process was one of the smoothest I've ever experienced. Nurse Brenda made sure my wife and I had everything packed so nothing was left behind. She asked my wife to bring the car around to the entrance, and within just a couple of minutes I was on my way home. The entire process was efficient, organized, and stress-free. The highlight of my stay, however, was the nursing staff. Their compassion, professionalism, and positive attitudes made all the difference. Brenda and Elizabeth cared for me during the day, while Nancy and another night-shift nurse--whose name I unfortunately cannot remember--provided excellent care overnight. Every one of them treated me with respect and kindness, and they always seemed to have a smile on their face. They should be highly commended for their dedication to their patients. If I ever need hospital care again and have a choice, Northside Hospital Cherokee will be my first choice without hesitation. Thank you to everyone who made my stay such a positive experience. Your hard work and commitment to patient care are truly appreciated. Irvin F

Because I am his mother, they let me nest in the hospital with him so I could breastfeed him. I want to give a big thank you to the night time nurse Sarah who made sure my little man was getting the best treatment so we could go home and be a family.

Terrible experience with post surgery staff. My husband had a stent inserted in his carotid artery…read more He experienced extreme bruising in his throat from intubation during surgery. He complained about being in pain, repeatedly, to the nursing staff. But was mostly ignored. No one ever looked at his throat. No doctor came to check on him. The next day after he was released from the hospital, I looked at his throat with a flashlight. It was horribly bruised (dark blue , black and red with white pus visible in several places. We took pictures of his throat for several days (as documentation). The next day, we went to urgent care where the doctor confirmed that it was the worst throat trauma post surgery he has seen. He confirmed there was an infection and prescribed an antibiotic and cortisone shot for the pain. We contacted the patient relations, nurses department and the anesthesiology dept. and explained what had happened. We provided photographs of his ravaged throat. After an "investigation" all department heads decided there had been no incident because no one in any departments had documented any incident of botched intubation or patient complaint. Everyone is covering their butts. Also the post operative room was a windowless closet, so jammed with machines and a recliner that my husband to move to get in the bathroom. He had been instructed not to pick up heavy objects. So much for that.

Having gone cold turkey in the past, I know how brutal it can be--I was expecting a living hell. Instead, the team here made the process manageable, perhaps only 5% of the pain I've experienced before which was tolerable and easy to sleep though. The care was professional and proactive. The doctor, counselors, and nursing staff knew exactly what I needed, and they acted on it immediately. I was able to eat, walk around, and actually sleep throughout the process. A huge thank you to the doctor, Porsha, Alicia, and Mike (the skinny guy with the long hair)--your genuine concern and expertise made all the difference. While the snack cart takes a minute to get around, the staff is quick to help if you just ask. It's rare to find a place where everyone seems so genuinely concerned about your success. The food is decent and portions are good. This is a top-notch facility for anyone looking to get their life back. Yes, smoking is permitted and they even provide them. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING. Thank you to everyone at Union General Hospital for the great and loving care given to my mother…read moreafter she fell 10 days ago. We just moved here so its a great comfort to me to know we have you all close. Everyone was so kind and efficient during her 3-day stay. I wish I had all of your names but I just don't, but here's a few of the folks that we wish to say thank you too: -- David Mullins and Jeff Rennie came quickly in the ambulance despite us being in a dark, rural area full of deer. They were kind and comforted mom. -- Kimberly in emergency was very kind and helpful to me too, as it was our first time there and I just did not know where to go. -- The ER staff was great too, including Dr. Scott. -- The nurses were wonderful to mom, as well. I hate it that I don't have all of your names, especially the young lady that cut mom's food for her as that was so sweet. Trissi and Miranda were two I met that were kind and we really liked them and appreciated them. -- Thank you to all doctors that checked on her too. Thank you all so much, including those of you whose names I did not get unfortunately. Please forgive me but know you are very appreciated. God bless you all.

It didn't matter, we still waiting for them "to have beds available" for like an hour!!! I'd hate for someone to have a heart attack or anything serious going on. After we finally got a room, it wasn't private and honestly I was so thirsty but didn't think to ask for anything especially as after they gave me the tiniest cup up water after being there for 4+ hours to swallow my pill for which I never knew why exactly I was taking it until the nurse informed me of an infection the doctor hadn't told me I had yet. The water was so bad tasting!!! Although the staff are sweet, the phlebotomist is like a sergeant and not at all caring or approachable. Honestly, it's like everyone working there is so excited to finish up their shifts they forget you! On top of it, it's soooooo dirty with pee all over the bathroom floor stinking so bad and with there being needles just randomly on the floor, at least one in our room, trash on the floor, and our phlebotomist went to take my blood even though his glove had ripped exposing his dirty hands!!! Yuck

A Truly Outstanding Hospital Experience…read more Emory Johns Creek Hospital has been a Godsend to my family, and after finally having the opportunity to experience it as a patient myself, I can honestly say that the reputation is well deserved. From the facility itself to the doctors, nurses, and support staff, everything felt well-run, professional, and genuinely focused on patient care. In Gwinnett County, I honestly don't think it gets much better than Emory Johns Creek. I came to the ER with appendicitis, and Dr. Curtis took care of me with precision, confidence, and great attention to my care. I'm especially grateful for the nurses who looked after me, including Rose and Dorothy, as well as all of the other nurses and staff members who treated me with professionalism and kindness throughout my stay. A helpful tip if you ever have to visit the ER: Sunday morning was surprisingly reasonable. We were checked in, evaluated, and seen relatively quickly, and the entire process felt organized and professional. Of course, ER wait times can vary, but our experience was excellent. Even the little things stood out. Parking was easy, the facility was clean and comfortable, and the food was surprisingly healthy and complete for hospital food. Most importantly, I left feeling like I had been cared for by people who truly knew what they were doing--and that matters when you're the patient. 5 solid stars for Emory Johns Creek Hospital! A huge thank you to Dr. Curtis, Rose, Dorothy, and the entire team who took such good care of me. You were true professionals, and I'm genuinely grateful. 5-star hospital and two thumbs up! I have trusted Emory Johns Creek multiple times with imaging, and they continue to fail me. One time, the technician failed to take my allergy to contrast seriously. It was quite unfortunate seeing my clear bad reaction shrugged off, rather than... I don't know, following proper procedure and getting a doctor to evalute me? Most recently, the highly incompetent staff provided me an inaccurate estimate for my pre-payment amount. I am currently owed $125 by Emory and they have not provided this refund in a timely fashion. If you have to have anything done at Emory Johns Creek, please be careful with pre-paying. I know I personally will never pre-pay for another procedure within the Emory medical system after this nightmare of trying to obtain a refund of cash I am clearly owed.
