Pavlov draft 22 oz
L S.

Bar food at a whole new level, what all should aspire to serve. BLT with crisp flavorful bacon, nice firm juicy red tomato on the best bread. Bread makes a sandwich and this bread is home-run in awesomeness. Beers are cold, beers that have give you nice, plentiful drinkable options on draft. They offer up daily specials that should not be missed. Place was busy on a 2pm visit mid week, good sign this local eatery is appreciated and utilized. Find this bar and find a seat and enjoy what it has to offer. Delicious !

Acoustic tiles along the ceiling. Nice attention to detail.

tl;dr This place rocks. Food: I had the "Northside On Fire" burger. It absolutely lived up to my expectation. High quality beef, ghost pepper cheese, SW sauce, BBQ sauce, etc. Throw a little peanut butter on there and it would be unbeatable. The perfectly breaded dill pickle fries came with SW ranch dipping sauce. Excellent. The onion rings? Not the best I've ever eaten, but still darned good. Honestly, pretty much everything on the menu, including the salads, sounded great. Drinks: With 28 beers on tap, many more in bottles, along with a normally stocked bar PLUS 2 locked cabinets full of top shelves and whisky, mostly bourbon, you should be able to find something to whet your whistle. I must say that I honestly wasn't expecting to find the craft beer! Most of it was from Michigan breweries. The specialty drinks sounded fantastic too. I just may try a Mojito the next time I'm up this way. Atmosphere: Very comfortable. I wouldn't mind being caught here during a snowstorm (which, actually, I was). Now I wouldn't call this a sports bar, but there were plenty of TVs, and Keno, and TouchTunes. It's lively, but not not too noisy. I'll bet it gets crazy during peak hours. If only they had a pinball machine or two. Service: The girl who seated me could have said hello and perhaps managed to smile; at first I feared that this was a "regulars only" bar. But, my fears abated quickly. The waitress (not the hostess, but the WAITRESS) was very friendly and helpful. Maybe it's pretty standard these days, but I always love when the server asks if I'd like to sample a beer before ordering it. She took my order, laughed at a Dad Joke, and had my food out to me posthaste. So far, Northside Bar and Grill rates 5 stars!

Sundays are great for football and the Northside! First, Northside has a great Sunday special, the Prime Rib Special. Go to Facebook to see what else is being promoted. There is indoor as well as outdoor seating. And televisions outside!

Brussel Sprouts

Great place for a burger! Also have the best nachos in Monroe, served Tuesday only. We went tonight and got the Brussel sprouts to start, they were delicious. I got the Rueben with carrot sticks instead of fries. The corned beef was carved and very tender. Hubby got the double cheeseburger with fries, he really enjoyed it Son got Janes Buffalo Blue Cheese chicken burger and devoured it, and he never finishes a sandwich so that said a lot. Great beer selection and great service. Can eat inside or on the patio when weather permits.

Fish fry Friday all you can eat cod $17.99

A hidden gem not far from the mall in Monroe. We went there before a movie on a Friday night. We both got the all you can eat fish (cod). A decent portion that included a mountain of skinny fries and coleslaw. We might have ordered more fish if we weren't in a hurry. The service was a little slow, which is to be expected on a Friday night. Overall the food, experience, and service were good. We will definitely be back, I'm very curious about the jalapeño popper shrimp appetizer they have.

Deffff stop here before heading back on the road

20 different beers and a substantial bar menu. The Reuben accompanied by chili was great!

Larson's Bar - Hamburger and large fries

After hearing about how delicious the burgers are here, my family and I decided to check them out…read more We dined here on Monday night. Everyone had burgers, fries, onion rings. The blonde woman that was making our food was very pleasant and wore gloves. The burgers were all overcooked unfortunately, but we still ate them. I stopped in here again last night for a beer and they had burger sliders on special. I sat at the bar and had a front row seat to the grill. What I witnessed was disgusting. The brunette working the grill did not wear gloves and she was touching everything. The burger buns, raw hamburger meat, pickle slices, raw onion, she grabbed fries with her bare hands right out of the mini fryer, onion rings were thrown in a paper basket with her hands, she was also getting drinks for customers, handling money and touching her face. How has no one contacted the health department??! I finished my beer and left. I loved the ice cold beers in the big mugs and the dive bar atmosphere, but I won't return.

My friend and I were looking for a good bar burger and this place ticked all the boxes. Burgers were huge and juicy. The patty melt was on buttered Texas toast. The fries were the crispy shoestrings and lightly salted. We shared the Philly steak egg rolls with bang band sauce and ended up taking doggy bags home with the large portions. The ladies working here were all nice and made us feel welcome. They have a full bar, keno, and an outside dining area in addition to seating inside. Larson's was excellent and the perfect place for a big ole bar burger and a few drinks.

Went there yesterday with my best buddy for a burger and a beer. What a great burger!!!…read more So, the place is like any other "old time bar" inside. Linoleum floors, a long bar on one side of the room and an odd half-wall that kind of thing that divides the room into 2 sides. It's odd because it just divides the room. I can't really see any purpose to it, but whatever... There are dollar bills taped everywhere. Kind of a cool touch. Lots of kitschy stuff that old bars tend to have. The few things that seem out of sorts is a lack of stench from stale beer and cigarette smoke. We played in a lot of these bars years ago and they all had that smell. Some of them still do because they allow smoking (egad!). The men's room is absolutely terrible, but it was clean. The only thing that would make it worse is if it had one of those trough urinals (like the old Michigan Tavern on Smith). A divider between the urinals would be a nice touch... Oh, I went off on a tangent again, sorry. So, the burger! Perfectly cooked and the requested toppings were spot-on. Nicely seasoned, cooked on a flat top to medium. The bun was soft but nicely toasted. It's a big ol' thing - 10 ounces! I ordered fries with mine. The fries are fresh cut. They should have been crispier. The best way to do that is rinse the fries in cold water after cutting to remove the excess starch and then double fry them. I don't think those steps were done. I give them an "A" for effort because fresh cut fries are a pain. I'll give them a "C" for the actual results. We also had PBR's with this (just one each, thank you)! The total, with the tip came to $40 bucks. Some would say that's too much for lunch, but the burgers are huge, and we each had a beer. The fries are something like $5.00, so all in all, not a bad deal. I'll definitely be back! Crisp up the fries and get a divider in the men's room and this would be a 5-star review!
