Regret coming here. From the start, it has been made very clear that what these doctors/office staff say is completely different than the reality that they serve you. First, i requested i see one doctor consistently instead of being passed around all the doctors that work there as i wanted to avoid any games of telephone and potential miscommunications. They told me this wouldn't be a problem but proceeded to book my appointments with different doctors. Fine, no problem. Until (of course) there was a massive miscommunication with my plan of care. I should have taken this as my second and final warning and left altogether but instead I decided that I would continue to work with this office as long as i could stick with one provider as I originally requested and we moved forward. Initially, i was informed that I'd be paying an exorbitant amount of money for invisalign trays AND retainer. I was also told that if anything happened to my retainer that I'd get 1 free replacement. Apparently, what is agreed upon verbally is NOT what is put into the contract. Not only was my retainer NOT from invisalign but they are also charging a fee to get a replacement retainer. Let's not forget to mention the whole mess that is their billing department. My insurance was on hold for 4 months, which I quickly informed the office and told them to continue billing on the fifth month. Instead, they noted "patient will come in to sort it out" and never billed my insurance as agreed upon in our phone conversation. All this time, my insurance has been in effect and they have not been billing my insurance. The time in question was January 2022-April 2022. The office said they'd re-bill in May 2022 and i never heard back from them to indicate that there were any further problems. Now they are asking me to pay for the remaining balance instead of billing my insurance (as they told me they would have done in the first place). Such a shame to have doctors taking advantage of their trusting patients. If you decide to go here, be sure to ask for everything in writing and read your contract with a fine tooth comb 3x over. *Update: they told me to call and speak with Dr. Zak, mind you I've already been waiting for his phone call all day today. The lack of communication skills among the staff is truly incredible. **Update part 2: Dr. Zak called me and proceeded to actually raise his voice and yell at me on the phone telling me that "if i want to fix my retainer i have to take down my review". I barely got a chance to get a word in because he kept cutting me off to tell me that he "knows who he his and has been doing this for 27 years". Completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I will not be succumbing to these threats so my review will remain on here as this was my experience and others should be aware of what they are signing up for. I am 100% happy with the orthodontists and the wonderful ladies who manage the office. Each orthodontist made my daughter feel comfortable with the process. The braces came off, and her teeth look beautiful. There was a clear plan on how to manage the braces. The front desk managers accommodated me every single time my daughter needed to come in. If there was an emergency, (my daughter tended to touch the braces) she was kindly welcomed in that very day. I will also add, that the office is managed so well that we hardly ever had any wait time. I have yet to experience this with any other doctor I've seen in any practice. It is clear that these orthodontists care about kids, listen to them and make the process of wearing braces less stressful and more comfortable. I am honestly shocked at all the bad reviews. I've been taking my 10 year old son to North shore Orthodontics for almost a year now. All I can say is his treatment has been life changing. My son had buck teeth and he was getting picked on at school, the improvement in 11 months has been amazing. His teeth are looking really good and his self esteem is up. The front desk ladies are really nice especially Nova. All the assistants and hygienists know us by name and they're very friendly. Dr Weinstein is the man, he really knows his stuff. I also do not understand the negative reviews. This place is awesome. We took our daughter to two other different orthodontists for consults PRIOR to having her start treatment here at North Shore. The other offices gave us bad advice, telling us that she needed teeth pulled (when in fact she didn't need them pulled) and North Shore gave us the most conservative advice. So we decided to go with North Shore, and our daughter just completed the program and had her braces taken off yesterday. We are so happy with the Doctors, staff, the clean facility and the entire process. NOT one complaint about anything. Her teeth came out perfect. The staff was so super nice and accommodating EVERY visit for the two years we had regular visits. We requested the same female Doctor each time and they happily accommodated that request for my daughter. I just cannot say enough good things about this place, and I highly recommend this office. read more

Do not come to this place for your child's (or your own) braces! I should have read these reviews before bringing my daughter to this place over 2 years ago. 2 years and I see very little progress!! The quality of the braces also do not seem to be the best.. This is a "Braces Factory" and it's ridiculous! An extremely narrow waiting area.. a very awkward set up.. You then sit in an open room with another 6 patients, while they're also getting their braces done/checked..zero privacy.! You also never know which doctor you will see.. I can't even recall how many different doctors we've seen.. you also feel very rushed and it's extremely impersonal! The "ladies" at the front desk are some of the most obnoxious and rude personnel I have ever encountered! NASTY! Never welcoming, never pleasant.. they just sneer at you while you ask questions, try to book an appointment or pay.. oh and it's all about your payment! If your payment is not "up to their standards" you are treated so disrespectfully.. made to feel very bad that that amount is all you can come up with at that time.. horrible! Stay away from here! There are plenty of other orthodontists! I regret choosing this office, I liked the initial doctor that we had the consultation with but I haven't seen him again.. everyone was very nice that day.. and then that goes out the window.. hook, line and sinker! they've got you where they want you and then they feel they can treat you like garbage. DISCLAIMER: I wrote a review before. This was deleted already, so here I go again. This place, one word only, factory. The first time I went here to get my braces, they wanted to charge me three thousand dollars, and argued with me that my insurance didn't cover. However, my insurance DID cover everything completely, and it took for me to say that I am recording the conversation for them to actually give me my correct payment plan. Please make sure you are paying the correct financial amount, multiple people have come to me saying that they have messed up their payment plan and tried to scam them. Second, you get a different doctor each time, and each doctor told me something else for my teeth. I think each patient should have one doctor since everyone would get a more personal visit and more effective results. I was told to wear my retainer overnight and then by another doctor I was told to wear it 24/7. The doctors are very nice and the assistant Gabe I believe is great. Lastly, which upsets me the MOST, is the front staff. Unlike the doctors, they treat you as if you were a piece of gum on the floor. Rude, give you attitude, pretend as if they don't get paid for working to be honest. You do not get a good vibe from them at all and they have been treating me much differently from the other patients. I can't tell if it's because of my race or because my insurance covers everything. There is favoritism played for patients by the front desk, whenever I go I get treated as an outcast, from the majority of the front desk workers. Be kind to people, it's not that hard, especially if you get paid. Kindness costs nothing. Lastly, had to had on, I skipped school and my mom took off a day from work because I needed to pick up my retainer. Turns out, my retainer wasn't even in the office. I brought my daughter at the recommendation of her dentist for braces consultation. Office is extremely busy and I was told different things from different people. 2nd visit my daughter was given a treatment plan and I'm told the cost. Well what does my insurance cover? Insurance doesn't cover phase 1. Huh? Something did not seem right and I verified with my insurance that they cover orthodontics, period. It is not up the office what they cover, and they also need to submit said treatment plan to my insurance. After 2 calls advising them to do so, nothing. So I went with my gut feeling and took my daughter somewhere else (best decision I made....I love HER!) Way after our visit, not only did they finally submit the treatment plan but they submitted a bill as well. For what?! She didn't get any services done. I would NOT recommend this office. Every time you call a the staff gives you a different answer. No one knows what is going. And they are so rude! I used a different office for my first daughter and the experience was so much better. I came to this office because my insurance coverage changed. What a mistake. My other daughter's orthodontist did an amazing job (and her teeth needed so much more). And that orthodontist was always in touch with my daughters general dentist. They worked together to take care of all her needs. This office just slapped braces on. Appointment were a problem. The front desk is a mess. They actually gave me a letter to hand deliver to my dentist to have two teeth extracted on my daughter. Really odd. When I got to my general dentist they had no knowledge of the need for these extractions and had to the orthodontist themselves. Even they were given the run around by the rude office staff. After having the braces removed my general dentist still thinks she needs more braces to be done. I'm not going back to this office. They don't care. They just do minimal work. I think Yelper ST is right. They are running an assembly line. They spend too much time on their stupid in office "competitions". (The kids don't need to win things--They need good orthodontics.- this is a stupid marketing ploy) I totally disagree with the yelper (dentist) Tanya V. - Really all her patients were satisfied? This place is awful, absolutely awful. It's pretty much a braces factory. You never know which Doctor you are going to get & the doctors all give different opinions & recommendations for treatment that contradict each other. Does anyone communicate in this office? One doctor even asked why my daughter isn't wearing her bottom retainer (she never got one!!!). There is no individual rooms so you see & hear everyone's business. No privacy at all. The ladies who work at the front desk are rude. You don't even get the courtesy of a "hello" when walking in, your only greeting is done by a computer that recognizes your child's fingerprints. I came to this office to fix a problem with my smile but they gave me another problem to fix. I would've loved my smile if the orthodontist didn't shave my two front teeth down for NO reason without my consent!! Now my two front teeth are the smallest teeth in my mouth and it looks like I have fangs. It's been a year since I've gotten my braces removed and I still HATE my teeth because of it being shaved. I also have major sensitivity in those two front teeth now because of this. I was also given a hard time when I told them my top retainer didn't fit. read more

Worst place. Overbooked. Slow to get an appoinment including emergencies. Charges for every little thing. Wait is a long time once you get an appointment. You never know who will work on you, different person every time, so they really don't know who you are. Braces on more than 3 years, paid in full,ended up going somewhere else and having to pay again. My reccommendation, find an orthadontist office who appreciates your business and that can see you more than 8-10 weeks apart and doesn't make you wait to be treated for emergencies and doesn't nickle and dime you for everything. read more

I've been a patient at North Shore for a little over 6 months and I don't regret my decision. The staff here are very friendly and personal and I've never had to wait an extensive amount of time. As a college student who also works, I have had no trouble arranging appointments or re-scheduling (if necessary). My appointments never seem to take more than an hr or so and they always explain in full detail what steps they are taking and how it will affect my teeth. read more

I am happy. I just got my braces removed and I've had them for 2 years. I had special case with over active gums that needed to be removed and sculpted. I had the procedure done a month before my braces were removed. I was given permanent retainers as well on my front teeth and with that I feel extra secure with retaining my new perfect smile. My experience has wonderful. I still have a weird bite but with the retainer and more I feel confident that would get fixed naturally. The staff is very kind and accommodating and made my visit easy and quick. Making a new appointment was always easy and even with a busy lobby I was still able to get an appointment with ease, and each appointment was 2 month apart for me. And My teeth are straight and BEAUTIFUL. It was a team effort. I made sure to listen to advice given to me and worked with my orthodontist. Make sure not to break the brackets and wire. Brush your teeth floss religiously and invest in a water glosser and the results should be good. I did have small accidents that broke my brackets maybe 2 or 3 different times but as long as you are quick to communicate with the office the issue should be handled quickly. I have the clear retainers and was recommended to wear them at night which surprised me. I've been wearing them a little longer for comfort reasons. All in all my experience was great, the women at the front desk always smiled and greeted me. Everyone who handled my treatment were very kind and efficient. I don't understand what the negative reviews are about. The location is convenient to stores, restaurants and bus stops. And the CVS down the street helps with any products you need for your braces or new smile. This was a long review but I feel like it's deserved. :) read more

The Worst dental experience ever!!!!!!! I had to do all the leg work: day 1 consultation, signed insurance form for possible coverage, day 2 presentation (with Elaine) where I was suppose to hear yes your insurance covers the procedure...Instead Elaine states your insurance doesnt cover the procedure and began with the quote $$$ I explained My insurance does cover the procedure and insurance company informed me no predetermination sent from your office. day 3 I had to have my insurance call to ask for the predetermination day 4 no Xrays sent with predetermination day 5 approval sitting in system called insurance, insurance explained payments several different days. day 5-25 stated my insurance only pays a small portion and I have the bigger portion of the bill to pay, insurance contacted, and explained to Andrea and Lauren my covered benefit- explained for the 4th time patients copay and what is covered. Lauren tells my insurance I have to recall the office and set up an appointment for a new contract fee now lets back up when I was first approved and explained to Northshore I was approved I asked for a new agreement before coming in for my next appointment scheduled for 2 days later so that I know what to walk with $$$ to cover any cost, therefore I would have went in again for NO REASON 30 minutes away from my home. I WOULD NOT recommend this office. I have never called a dentist office so many times in my life doing what the billing department gets paid to do. That front desk one she's a real piece of work. She was extremely rude and nasty. The doc was ok but I felt like I was on an assembly line. The office is wide open where all the conversations between doctor and patient can be heard by everyone in the office. I want to discuss my financial and medical in private. I am compelled to write this review after seeing some poor reviews on here. My experience with this practice has been nothing short of amazing. I had used Dr. Zak for both of my son's braces and the entire experience was flawless from start to finish. I found the office staff to be very friendly and accommodating. They even send appt reminders as a special touch. Dr. Zak and the staff took great cares of my sons and most importantly, their work is fantastic! This place is horrible. First of all, I thought I was going to be late for my appointment but come to find out,there were so many patients waiting outside. My son's appointment was at 9:00. They didn't open the doors until 9:10. I took my son and daughter there. They completely forgot about my daughter and forgot to give her the x rays and molding. Also, there is absolutely no privacy in the rooms and I had to wait 25 minutes for my daughter to get her x rays after they forgot about her. The orthodontist asked my daughter,"Why do you need braces?" That was such a stupid question. To fix her teeth. They told my son he was only going to get braces for the top teeth to see if it was comfortable. Usually people get both. They are money hungry and wanted me to come back. The prices are expensive and the process is too long. Finally, I asked them what the approximate cost will be and they said they would tell me during my next visit. Why couldn't they tell me now? I asked for an estimate. It seemed like they were going to make up a price and raise it. Also, my daughter said she heard the ladies in the front desk cursing and gossipping. They were rude to me when I came in, too. I'm wondering if I can get the x rays back because I will be switching orthodontists. This is a bad place. read more
