Before my first acupuncture experience. Pic with my godson and his Doctor Dad Lu!

Clean and professional experience for this first timer. Staff if very attentive and efficient. Free street parking. Worth the trip as Dr Lu is very knowledgeable and has the magic touch. AAA rated and was a pleasure to do business with.

Dr. Yongjun Lu is truly incredible. I went to see him for my back pain thinking it was going to take a while to heal, but after one session with him my pain went away. My first appointment was acupuncture with added heat and cupping. Now I'm currently seeing him for cupping and looking forward to exploring all of the healing things with him. Dr. Yongjun Lu is authentic, intuitive, kind and very funny. He makes you feel safe and comfortable. Constantly checking in with you during and after your appointment. It's easy to see that he loves what he does and simply wants to help people feel better. Highly recommend!

I'm Chinese but never believed much in Chinese medicine. That kind of ignorance was probably due to the the fact that I had been blessed with good health and fitness... until three weeks ago. I started to have surreal amount of acute pain from my lower right side of back, and it shot down to the entire right leg. I limbed in every step and was screaming in pain when I got off the chair or bed. It was so bad I woke up in tears and swears at night. I tried ibuprofen, Advil, tiger balm, heating pads... nothing took the pain away longer than 20 minutes. Then I found Dr. Lu. It was like finding my church. Two treatments in three days. The pain was 90% gone. I thought it was sciatica. It took Dr. Lu a few minutes observing my posture and movements to determine where and what the problem was. No lengthy paperwork, no x-ray, none of the bureaucratic nonsense you expect from a normal medical office. Dr. Lu is so experienced that his work is super fast and on point. For the first time I have needles on my back and leg... and he told me to "relax and take a nap!" In each session I had so much fear, questions, and random thoughts in my head. But I did what he told me to do, and the pain went away, away, and away. This is such an enlightening experience. Where have I been with my culture and roots? I lived my whole life and three weeks of excruciating pain to find out about the miracle of my own heritage. A savior like Dr. Lu is God-send, excuse my cheesy praise (trust me, I never say things like this). So if you are reading this, and all the other reviews on this site, you know you are in good hands!

Needles in my pectoral and deltoid muscles, aso hooked up to the TENS machine.

I injured my shoulder last year and, while it was able to heal on its own about 80%, I still had pain when reaching up with my arm. I was tired of it and went to Dr. Lu for help. He was able to diagnose that my pectoral muscle was extremely tight (never recovered from injury) and pulling on my shoulder causing the pain. He not only did acupuncture, which hurt a lot but no pain no gain, but also hooked me up to a TENS machine and applied an oil rub which he also sold to me. One day later and my shoulder feels GREAT! I'm so happy to finally not feel limited with my range of motion and I'm planning to come back for a another nagging issue of mine. I've had acupuncture before with other doctors but Dr. Lu is the best hands down. Yes the needles will hurt, but only because you're already in pain and the area is tender and sensitive. You will feel so much better afterwards.

I was struggling with wrist pain for a month. And one session alone helped me get rid of the pain. Love this place. Will definitely comeback and recommend

We proceeded with a gentle, carefully monitored protocol. He checked my hormones continuously and adjusted my medication doses based on the results. Because of that individualized care, I had an ideal outcome for my age (39). Our first transfer worked, and I am now 11 weeks pregnant with a healthy, growing baby. Dr. Vermesh also recommended intralipids to help maximize my implantation chances. His care has been exceptional -- always kind, reassuring, and thorough. Please know I am writing this review with a heavy heart…read more This is my first time receiving an IVF treatment. We chose this clinic based on the reviews and had high hopes. Unfortunately, this clinic was disappointing in many ways. Even though Dr. Tolou and her nurses were nice folks I interacted with, there were many negatives I found in my experience. It was definitely an expensive and eye opening experience for a failed IVF treatment plan. Here are some observations I made hoping it will help others before committing treatment at this location: 1. This office provide the bare minimum service despite how much we paid, it truly make me feel like I was just a number to them. When I said bare minimum I mean they don't take initiative of warning you of the worst case scenarios if there are setbacks in your treatment cycle nor offer flexibilities in their IVF package to ensure you receive fair service. An example would be if you choose to not continue with the treatment after the egg retrieval, you will not receive any refund after egg retrieval whether or not you decide to move forward with the implantation. Also, if you paid for the embryo genetic testing, which costs $5000k for 6 embryos, you don't receive any money back if you have 1 embryo. There was no warning or heads-up. If my initial ultra sound shown to have unfavorable low amount of follicles to begin with, I would appreciate it if the doctor had warned me of the worst case scenarios or gave me the option to wait till the next cycle to start the IVF treatment. It really made me feel like they just want my money and did not look out for my well being. It was pretty devasting, I am still feeling traumatized. 2. Their financial/billing personnel was probably the reason why we decide not to continue with further treatment at this clinic. There was no initiative to tell us about prior authorizations before the start of the treatment nor cooperation to assist us getting reimbursement for our medications. After receiving unhelpful and generic responses from their financial coordinator, Nicole, I find her to be a not nice lady to deal with. Honestly, I was beyond mad when I found out I could have paid $50 for a medication instead of $900. I was already dealing with the emotional stresses of going through the treatment and the unfavorable results, I didn't need to deal with her unhelpful attitudes. 3. The team did not provide us with a treatment plan or schedule. Everything felt extremely rushed and we didn't have lots of time to process or think through. An example would be I didn't like that we must pick up the medication on the same day because the injection must be performed at a certain time. It would have been nice if they warned me and my husband about all these processes prior to the start of the treatment. 4. This fertility clinic IVF package is not flexible and rather expensive when there are setbacks. We started the IVF process and never even finished it and it costed over 20k.

My experience with Dr. Vermesh and his clinic was deeply disappointing and, frankly,…read moreunacceptable--especially for something as serious and emotional as IVF. From the very beginning, it felt like neither Dr. Vermesh nor his staff had a clear understanding of my case. At multiple appointments, I was asked to re-explain why I was there, and comments were made that were completely irrelevant to my situation. While I understand that doctors see many patients, I expect at a minimum that my chart would be reviewed before each visit. That basic level of care and professionalism was consistently lacking. I chose this clinic based on a recommendation from a friend who had undergone IUI here. However, IVF is a far more complex process, and the level of care I received did not reflect that. While their pricing may initially seem more affordable, you ultimately pay for it in the quality of treatment, communication, and overall experience. Throughout the entire process, communication was extremely poor. I had little to no direct support from Dr. Vermesh, and the staff was unhelpful, rude, and often dismissive. There was no sense of compassion or attentiveness during what is already an incredibly stressful and emotional journey. Medically, my case was handled in a way that I--and other doctors I've since consulted--find very concerning. I was initially told I had 14 follicles, but 19 were discovered during the procedure. Despite this, I ended up with only one viable embryo, and my recovery from the retrieval was debilitating, something I wasn't prepared for in the slightest. Based on my profile, this entire outcome was highly unexpected. It felt like my cycle was not properly optimized, and the guidance I received along the way was flawed. Only after my retrieval I was told about a two-cycle package option that would have been more cost-effective--something that was never offered to me beforehand. When I asked him to honor the price, while he recognized that he made a mistake in my retrieval, they still refused to honor the fair price. This felt incredibly misleading, greedy, and opportunistic. To make matters worse, my one viable embryo resulted in an unsuccessful transfer and after being broken the news by some nobody in his office who can't answer a single question, I was then told the next time the doctor could speak to me was 6 days later. He couldn't even be bothered to pick up the phone and call me after all that I had just been through, all the money I had spent with him, and all the pain I was feeling. When I asked why, they said it's because "he likes to carve out 30-45 minutes to speak to his patients". BS!!!! In my entire experience with him of 6 months, if you added up all the minutes I've had in direct communication with this doctor, both in person and on the phone, you wouldn't be at total of 45 minutes. On top of everything, the clinic environment itself felt unclean, and the staff was often rude and lacking empathy. You guys clearly have no clue what field you are in or how delicate these matters are for women trying to get pregnant. I felt so unimportant to Dr. Vermesh from the start and I believe my results were a direct reflection of his lack of care. I left this clinic feeling misled, unsupported, and taken advantage of. Even if offered another round for free, I would not return. I would strongly caution anyone considering IVF here to explore other options where patient care, accountability, communication, transparency, and results are taken seriously.

I'm 38 with unexplained infertility and male factor infertility. I started at a local clinic in…read morePortland, Oregon and had a very standard experience: one egg retrieval, generic protocol, and we got 13 mature eggs, 2 blasts, and 0 PGT-A normal embryos. No additional testing or changes were recommended for a second cycle. That's when I started looking out of state and was referred to Dr. Kuo. This review is not just because I'm now pregnant. Even if I wasn't, I would be saying the exact same thing about the level of care I received. Dr. Kuo is the most meticulous and detail-oriented doctor I've ever worked with. Nothing is brushed off, nothing is "good enough," and nothing is done just to move things along. He holds himself to an extremely high standard, and you feel that as a patient in every single decision that's made. It's very clear that he cares deeply about getting it right, not just getting you through a cycle. Before my second retrieval, he did additional testing on my husband that my previous clinic never even mentioned. We found very high sperm DNA fragmentation, which we treated with three months of Chlomid before moving forward. During my retrieval cycle, I was monitored extremely closely and my protocol was adjusted in real time. The difference in results was honestly shocking. We went from 2 blasts and 0 normal embryos to 21 mature eggs, 9 blasts, and 3 PGT-A normal embryos. Before transfer, he also found a uterine polyp that my previous clinic missed, which I had removed. My first transfer cycle was actually canceled due to bleeding and not being an optimal uterine environment. I fully believe many clinics would have just proceeded anyway. Dr. Kuo did not. We adjusted, waited, and did it right. The second transfer was successful. At 8 weeks pregnant, I had a scary bleeding episode, and this is another area where Dr. Kuo stands out. He was in direct communication with me every few hours for days, giving clear instructions and actually monitoring the situation in real time. I never felt like I was on my own. The communication model is unlike anything I've experienced in healthcare. You are in a group text with Dr. Kuo and your coordinator, and you can reach them at any time. That level of access and responsiveness makes an incredibly stressful process feel manageable. The clinic as a whole operates at that same level. Dr. Kuo personally performs every ultrasound and you meet with him at every single appointment. You are seen on time. You are never wondering who you're going to get or waiting weeks for answers. There is a level of consistency and accountability that is very rare in this field. My coordinator Eliana was amazing. So organized, so calm, and completely on top of everything. Blue, Clarissa, and Lizeth were also incredible. They knew my case, they were involved, and they genuinely cared. It never felt like I was just another patient moving through the system. If you feel like something is being missed, if you've had a failed cycle with no real explanation, or if you want a doctor who is actually thinking through your case instead of running a standard protocol, go see Dr. Kuo. Traveling out of state was 100% worth it.

We saw multiple doctors across LA, went through countless tests, and still had no clear answers as to why we couldn't get pregnant. It was one of the most frustrating and lonely experiences we've ever been through. Finding Dr. Kuo was truly the turning point for us, and without a doubt, the best decision we made. From day one, his entire team made us feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for. Everyone in the office is so warm and kind. Eliana was always there for me, whether it was answering questions, offering reassurance, or just being a steady support throughout the process. What really stood out to me was how much they respected our time and emotions. I never had to wait more than a few minutes for appointments, and every visit felt intentional and personal. Dr. Kuo walked with us through every single step of the IVF journey. He is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also deeply compassionate. He answered my texts even after hours and on weekends, which meant so much during moments of anxiety and uncertainty. We never felt alone in this process. There aren't enough words to fully express how grateful we are for him and his team. If you're feeling burnt out, discouraged, or losing hope trying to find the right doctor, please don't give up. I know how hard it is. But finding the right team can change everything.
