My experience with Dr. Vermesh and his clinic was deeply disappointing and, frankly, unacceptable--especially for something as serious and emotional as IVF. From the very beginning, it felt like neither Dr. Vermesh nor his staff had a clear understanding of my case. At multiple appointments, I was asked to re-explain why I was there, and comments were made that were completely irrelevant to my situation. While I understand that doctors see many patients, I expect at a minimum that my chart would be reviewed before each visit. That basic level of care and professionalism was consistently lacking. I chose this clinic based on a recommendation from a friend who had undergone IUI here. However, IVF is a far more complex process, and the level of care I received did not reflect that. While their pricing may initially seem more affordable, you ultimately pay for it in the quality of treatment, communication, and overall experience. Throughout the entire process, communication was extremely poor. I had little to no direct support from Dr. Vermesh, and the staff was unhelpful, rude, and often dismissive. There was no sense of compassion or attentiveness during what is already an incredibly stressful and emotional journey. Medically, my case was handled in a way that I--and other doctors I've since consulted--find very concerning. I was initially told I had 14 follicles, but 19 were discovered during the procedure. Despite this, I ended up with only one viable embryo, and my recovery from the retrieval was debilitating, something I wasn't prepared for in the slightest. Based on my profile, this entire outcome was highly unexpected. It felt like my cycle was not properly optimized, and the guidance I received along the way was flawed. Only after my retrieval I was told about a two-cycle package option that would have been more cost-effective--something that was never offered to me beforehand. When I asked him to honor the price, while he recognized that he made a mistake in my retrieval, they still refused to honor the fair price. This felt incredibly misleading, greedy, and opportunistic. To make matters worse, my one viable embryo resulted in an unsuccessful transfer and after being broken the news by some nobody in his office who can't answer a single question, I was then told the next time the doctor could speak to me was 6 days later. He couldn't even be bothered to pick up the phone and call me after all that I had just been through, all the money I had spent with him, and all the pain I was feeling. When I asked why, they said it's because "he likes to carve out 30-45 minutes to speak to his patients". BS!!!! In my entire experience with him of 6 months, if you added up all the minutes I've had in direct communication with this doctor, both in person and on the phone, you wouldn't be at total of 45 minutes. On top of everything, the clinic environment itself felt unclean, and the staff was often rude and lacking empathy. You guys clearly have no clue what field you are in or how delicate these matters are for women trying to get pregnant. I felt so unimportant to Dr. Vermesh from the start and I believe my results were a direct reflection of his lack of care. I left this clinic feeling misled, unsupported, and taken advantage of. Even if offered another round for free, I would not return. I would strongly caution anyone considering IVF here to explore other options where patient care, accountability, communication, transparency, and results are taken seriously. read more

In his early days of practicing he knew I had a condition of horizontal scarring of the uterus in which one can get pregnant but after 4 months the patient miscarries. I found this out when I left him and needed a hysterectomy years later and went to Cedars Sinai. When the doctor at Cedars saw that my husband and I had tears along with the doctor at Cedars. This is a response to the negative reviews of Dr V. As one of his patients. Is IVF expensive? Hell yes. Is success guaranteed, no! All you have to do is google IFV info and you will see the stats about odds, average costs and ANYTHING you could possibly want to know. And you should absolutely do this research before you place ANY physician in charge of your care. That being said, I don't know where else people have gone or what they expect from doctors, but this man is honestly a wonderful human being who has obviously dedicated his life to advancing and practicing this science. My wife had been treated horribly by another physician, and through great luck we were referred to Vermesh through a natural medicine practitioner. Every single experience with him has been wonderful, supportive and positive. I trust him implicitly with my wife's care, which as any papa bear will know, is more important than my own. All the bad reviews people might find here should be analyzed a little beyond what meets the eye. Most people who leave negative (even ludicrous 1 star) reviews never bothered to do their home work and came absolutely unprepared waiting for a miracle to happen. Miracles don't happen. My wife and I had our first cycle failed with Dr. Vermesh, but how can you blame it on your doctor if there's a million factors involved and your doctor is on the bottom of the list. It's sad, no doubt. But we sat down with Dr. Vermesh and created a strategy for our second attempt and now my wife is 12 weeks. It took enormous amount of nerve, self-education and office calls to make it happen, but one has to always remember - your doctor is a tool, while your brain and your body is what makes it happen. I cant not thank Dr. Vermesh and his staff enough!!!! I just gave birth to beautiful and healthy twins. Boy and Girl. The first time I stepped into his office, Dr. Vermesh said to me, as I was wearing my gym clothes. "I see you like the color pink, but this is not a Rosie process". Sure enough he was right. Yes, it was a difficult route, but Dr. Vermesh and his staff made sure that they where positively with me every step of way, even when we needed to change routes, procedures and plans. I'll cut to the chase: we're having a boy - but that's not why I'm writing a great review for Dr. Vermesh and his team (well, at least not the ONLY reason). We came to Dr. Vermesh because every one of our friends who went to him - even after giving up with other doctors - emerged with at a kid (or two), but we very quickly grew to value him for his level of CARE as much as his knack for fostering productive results. This business of making babies after 40 is complicated stuff - complicated intellectually, emotionally, and physically. It helps to have a physician at the helm who is a master of more than just that last part. Dr. Vermesh transformed a very stressful endeavor into something approachable and understandable. He made the whole situation something to be optimistic about without making any pretense about the reality of our chances (which were absolutely NOT awesome). Where do we begin to tell our story... First of all, I started with Dr. Vermesh in my early thirties, after doctors in my area were not able to see a reason why I experience daily bleeding for a year! Dr. Vermesh found the problem immediately-I had a bleeding polyp that was needing immediate removal. After that we followed with a procedure that helped to unblock my fallopian tubes, which I didn't even realize were blocked! At that period of my life, I wasn't exactly looking to start a family, but it was very good to know that my possible infertility issues were addressed and corrected! Seven years passed and I found myself now being thirty-nine years old, childless, and going trough divorce. At this point, I was ready to, at least freeze my eggs, knowing my facts what happens to "maturing" women's fertility. The eggs were frozen, and three years later, my now fiancé and I came back to Dr. Vermesh to try our very first IVF cycle. We were recommended to add a fresh cycle to the existing one. Dr. Vermesh explained in detail, using statistics and his extensive knowledge on the subject all the pros and cons of what to expect. Our chances of conceiving sounded pretty slim, considering I started at thirty-nine, and my fiancé was at this point 50yrs old. We took a risk and went with it anyways. We remained hopeful, but realistic that anything could happen, and that all the science, medicine, expertise, genetics, age, fertility-is just a drop in the ocean of this process, but ultimately, it is our Creator, who ultimately will decide our future destiny! It failed... But we didn't give up. We told ourselves; One last try. Truthfully, I no longer believed it would ever happen-too many odds worked against us. But my fiancé wasn't ready to give up! We Came back when I was forty-three, with the hope the size of a sesame seed. This time around Dr. Vermesh hand-tailored his approach to suit our very "special" case. He upped our dose of meds. He allowed extra days for my eggs to mature, (in my individual case), and he decided to use intralipid drip to ensure the implanted embryo stays... Now its time for me to get teary-eyed, and I can't tell you what obstacles we overcame with our pregnancy-last nine months have been the hardest, most challenging, hi/risk pregnancy, not to mention pain, pressure, and constant, daily fear of loosing the child! Ten days ago, we welcomed a beautiful, tender, sweet, very long-awaited baby girl Karina. Our little miracle! As I am writing this very long review, she is sleeping peacefully on my lap, and I am overwhelmed with happiness and love, feeling her little heart beat next to mine!!! Awful experience and poor customer service. Before my initial visit, office made such a big deal about my insurance and stated I would have to pay cash and they would provide me with superbill to bill insurance. That did not happen! I paid deposit and went in for initial visit. They were not helpful at all. I had to request Dr. Vermesh to perform ultrasound. We had not even been trying for a year and he basically pushed IVF without even scanning me or knowing my full background. read more

If I could give this place no stars then I would because we ain't got no baby. Came in three times and two IUI's and nothing. Mind you we were paying full out of pocket fees for all checkups and procedures. Each time we came in for IUI's the doctor seemed to indicate that ovulation had passed but even then, they went on with the procedure as if it was going to work. I feel like we had been robbed due to still paying for the procedures knowing it was unlikely to work. I would definitely look elsewhere for this type of procedure. We were just some middle classed folks looking to start a family and now a chunk of our savings are gone. To top it off, they never even gave us a follow up call to check if it was successful. After at least 6 different doctors, 3 failed IVFs and 3 failed IUIs, we decided it was time to see Dr. Vermesh after hearing so much about him from different people. He was the only doctor that didn't think my age was an issue at 41. With the first IVF attempt under Dr. Vermesh's care we had success. We were finally blessed with our little baby. I view Dr. Vermesh as the Lord's fertility angel. The experience we had with Dr. Vermesh was so different than with other clinics. Dr. Vermesh knew the right amount of meds to give me and the right timing that was specific for me, he was caring, he took time to speak with us at our appointments and on the telephone, and was with us every step of the way. At other clinics we felt like we were in a factory line, but with Dr. Vermesh, it was personal; he truly cared for us and wanted our success. Dr. Vermesh is AMAZING!!! His staff was great. Zenia is the best nurse I have ever worked with! She made Dr. Vermesh's plans go smoothly and made it all work with my work schedule. She always answered my questions via phone and email and was so informative. We also saw Dr. Talou for a couple of ultrasounds during the pregnancy follow up visits and she was very sweet and professional. The front staff girls were great and helped accommodate us for appointments and getting in touch with Zenia or Dr. Vermesh. Also, the financial coordinator we worked with, Connie, was so professional and kind-- she never made us feel like we were just another opportunity to make money. I don't typically write reviews but I want to try to help those who were once in my shoes. Sometimes the first or second attempt might fail, but you can't give up-- the trick is finding the right doctor who understands your labs and has the right balance of medication and timing that's specific for you.
