0 STARS! My family & I fled a rental on 210 S. Alandale Pl 85710 due to a mouse infestation. Northpoint Asset Mgt, Deborah Davis, Anne Willey, Erika Harding, & owners Jacqueline "Jackie", Jose "Joey", & Amanda Garcia refuse/ignores repair requests. Several repairs needed but I didn't know the extent. Some were to be done before move in & rest after. The house & yard were to be cleaned, weeds & trash removed. Nothing was done when I met Deborah to get the keys the night before move in. She said, "oh how embarrassing. I didn't have a chance to clean. But you said you were anal anyways so I figured why clean twice." They lied on the lease noting the house was built after 1978, it was built in 1959. They did not provide the lead based paint reports/pamphlets required by AZ law. There was peeling paint & rust in the medicine cabinet, paint, stucco, & brick missing from the outside of the walls. When they prepared the house to repaint we were unaware the house was built before 1978. Nothing was done to protect me or my family from any dust/debris that came off the walls & left there, water & mud came through the holes of the walls to the inside of the house. We had no privacy. The master bedroom & kitchen have sliding glass doors that lead to the backyard, if someone is standing within inches-10' from the door they can see in. Northpoint & Garcia's would send workers or come themselves w/o proper/no notice. The excuse was, "they didn't need access inside" "what's the big deal" "why are you complaining". When I walk out of my bathroom after a shower into my room, to get dressed, & there's someone at the sliding glass door of my bedroom looking in, taking pictures, "inspecting", or painting it's a scary, an invasion of my privacy, demeaning, & traumatic. I had a peeping Tom & I couldn't do anything about it except live w/the blinds, curtains, & windows closed to have privacy in my own home. Due to the holes, we had a constant flow of insects, Nov. the mice came. Deborah yelled in my face that I should have "put a sock in it" to prevent mice. Deb said I should have repaired the holes myself with socks! She said it was my fault for not having a washer and dryer, one of the many discriminating comments made by her. Per Northpoint Asset, Deborah Davis, Anne Wiley, Erika Harding, Jacqueline Garcia, Jose Garcia, & Amanda Garcia Kirwan everyone has mice & insects. I BEGGED for them to repair the evaporative cooler in March, sent a 5 day repair in person, certified mail, emailed, texted. They refused & ignored me. They sent someone the same day Code Enforcement was coming. We didn't have heat the first night because the ventilation for the heater & water cooler were not up to code. Deborah said she would bring us space heaters & never showed up. She offered $150 for a hotel for 4 adults & baby. Later the owners say they told her to give $319 not $150. I guess the $169 was for Deborah to keep along w/the $200 they gave her to have the yard & house cleaned, along w/the $200 they gave her to replace a door she claimed to replace but didn't. I have several pictures, emails, text, videos, recordings, & witnesses. They lied to me & lied about me. When I brought issues to their attention I was met w/defensiveness, nothing was their fault, they didn't know, it was my fault somehow, it was the owners fault. Their actions & behavior were abusive & cruel. I found temporary housing for my kids but I am homeless. My stuff is in storage & I'm staying at various places until I find a home. I will never rent again due to this experience. The only truth Deborah Davis told me was that she loves wine, cocaine, & Trump. If you don't have money to repair your home DON'T RENT IT OUT!! I know I'm not the only one they have mistreated. People may be afraid to speak possibly because they are being harassed & intimidated like I was. You have rights, there are laws, speak up. My property was vacated in early January this year. No one bothered to look at my property and tell me that the algae was getting out of hand. Cost $300 for a special clean up with chemicals. I also found out that the property was NEVER even listed on the MLS, so how was it ever going to be rented? And finally after I called to cancel the agreement I had, they come up with invoices for a repair job on a bbq island that was checked months ago. They never said there would be a charge to get an estimate. I had a nightmare of an experience with northpoint asset management. Primarily Heaven Pennymon. I would suggest no one do business with this company. Take the time to check their reviews with the Better Business Bureau. When moving out of my rental unit, Heaven Pennymon Provided me with a move out check sheet and I followed to the tee. She is attempting to change me $2900 to repaint the entire interior. I have asked for photographic evidence of these damages as well as evidence that these repairs were even made and no such proof has been given to me. The unit was left undamaged and she is attempting to steal from me. I'm sure this is not the first time this company has done business this way and would warn others to stay far far away from them. Heaven also broke multiple points of my rental agreement during the move out period. 1) she did not give a 48hr notice to enter the property as required by the date of Arizona and 2) she did not inform me of the date of the move out inspection. Both of these are required by the state of Arizona to avoid situations like this. Bottom line is this business conducted business with me unethically and is attempting at scamming me out of my security deposit. For those looking to rent a unit managed my north point or heaven pennymon, It is also important to note that during my lease, I was without air conditioning for over a month during the Arizona summer. Internal temperatures of my rental unit were over 100° for 30 days straight. Heaven did not take this seriously and ignored my calls and texts on multiple occasions. I believe they are trying to recoup the discounted rent from when the air conditioning was out by keeping my security deposit. I will be contacting the BBB, Chanel 3, as well as the state of Arizona on this matter. I want to give every person a fair warning to diligently stay away from this business and especially heaven Pennymon. I want to believe that North point asset management would not do business like this across the board; however, it seems they are backing and doubling down on the unethical ways their employees do business. read more

This is the worst property Management. if I could give no stars I would. I put work orders that they very rarely take care of. I have carpet mold in my bedroom that has not been addressed. If you need after hours care good luck they have none. I have been renting the condo for 10 plus years and was treated so poorly by the Management co. Slum lords.. our property owner approved several repairs and upgrades to our rental but they made me get all the quotes and when I found a good quote, it was still more then they wanted to pay. My fiancé and I purchased a condo in Tucson in early 2018. We live in California and needed a property management company that we could depend on to handle issues, process payments, and take care of any other renter/rental related issues that come up. I have used other property management companies to rent out properties close to me in California and had a good idea of what my expectations were. We had done our research when looking into Property Mgmt Companies in Tucson and had several interviews set up with each. Deborah Davis from Northpoint Asset Management was our second interview as we were not impressed with our first. Deborah, who is also a realtor came in prepared with tangible property and geographic information on comps, time on market to rent, along with personal information of the area. We were so impressed that we canceled our last interview and decided on Northpoint. Deborah has always been very timely with our phone calls and email inquiries and has responded to all questions and concerns that we have had. Deborah had our condo rented in less than two weeks! So far we have been happy with our decision to go with Northpoint but I will be sure to do periodic updates as we go forward. My only real negative so far is with the delay and responsiveness of Northpoint as well as the length of time it takes for Northpoint to dispense funds. They do have an informative website for their customers that makes it very easy to see how your funds are dispersed. As of now I would recommend Northpoint to anyone looking for a property management company in the Tucson area. Ask for Deborah Davis! read more

Dealing with Northpoint has been one of the worst experiences of my life. My mother passed away in the summer of 2016 and my sister and I decided to rent her house in Arizona out after we had gotten it into shape and moved all of my mother's possessions out. We hired Northpoint, and their representative, Shaun, was assigned to us. Living in California, I had to deal with Northpoint online or over the phone for most of the beginning of our business relationship. I signed a standard contract and in December 2016 I drove to the house and met with Shaun on the property so he could take pictures of the house to post for the listing and to talk over what needed to be done. I explained to him that I had no idea what it was like to own a property that would be rented out and that I would need his help with pretty much everything. He told me that his job was to have me sign the contract and then never hear about any other problems with the house because he would be taking care of everything. That eased my mind and I figured we would be in good hands. That couldn't have been further from the truth. Long story short, we started having problems right off the bat. It took over a month to rent out the house. I had to post on Craigslist to help find someone. The people that Northpoint eventually put in the house complained about features that were never meant to be included in the rental at all. We found out later that it was because the house was shown to the tenants by a different agent and they were never told the details. They were supposed to have a lease guarantor but Northpoint never pursued this, so now that the tenants have been evicted, there are thousands of dollars in damages that the security deposit will not cover. The tenants were not fully informed about their eviction and it led to multiple unnecessary issues. They were even emailed a lease renewal agreement AFTER the eviction was handed to them! What kind of professional company doesn't stay on top of things like this?! As time went on, it became more and more difficult to get a hold of Shaun. Every question or complaint I had was met with silence or aggression. If I asked three questions (repeatedly), I was lucky to get an answer to one of them within a week. They do not answer questions immediately, like their website states. They also do not visit the property as needed, as also stated on their website. If they did, they would've seen the damage being done to the inside and outside of the property. They would've seen that there were multiple people in the house and two cats, even though it was a non-pet rental. Toward the end of our contract, I hired a local handyman out of pocket to act as my liaison, since I wasn't get any help from my property manager. The handyman and I had to find our own people to try to put the house and property back in shape after the eviction, on our own. Northpoint terminated our agreement but I still can't get an answer if we are finished or if there is anything else we need to take care of. This company has not done its job and they have not lived up to their promises. I have a paper trail of all of the problems I have had to deal with, including emails and texts. This company has taken advantage of the fact that we were inexperienced and were not owners of multiple properties. I have been treated unfairly and they need to be held accountable. read more

I would have given Northpoint negative stars if it was possible. I wished have reviewed Anne H. posting before signing up with Northpoint. What she experienced was a tip-of-an-iceberg compare to us. We have similar experiences as Anne and more. Our company resides outside Arizona and have many homes Phoenix metropolitan area. We hired Northpoint based on their website claims and telephone interviews, which they made many promises. Good sales, but worst execution. - Extremely unorganized. Every properties we have ended up with tenant problems, extensive repairs, un-reconcilable charges, unjustified charges, and/or falsified issues. Yes, they falsified claims, invoices, and correspondences. - They lied to us constantly. We only found out after months of probing their claims. - They falsified repairs with duplicate invoices of SAME NUMBERS and SAME PROPERTIES (plural intended) and charge us month-over-month. Only after we questioned them, they removed some of the charges. - They failed to disclose that they were using their own employees to conduct repairs. Hence, constant repairs and claims were experienced by us. Of course they over-charged us as well. Worst yet, they would falsify claims, repairs, and created invoices, and charge us. We caught them do it. - In the aftermath, we found many repairs that Northpoint claimed were created to keep their repair crew busy. - Due to these falsified repairs and claims, they were having hard time producing proper records that we need for our bookkeeping. Months have passed since we terminated them. They still were unable to produce records for our bookkeeping. There were so many illegal and/or unethical practices by them, we finally gave up using them. We lost thousands of dollars using them. We would have filed a claim against them if the lost (time and money) justifies it. Just like Anne, we also have many rental properties in Phoenix and other states. We had some bad experiences with some property managers, but this is beyond words. We have never experienced this type of negligent and crooked practices. I reside in Northern California and have but one house in Phoenix built in 2005. I hired Northpoint for the same reason Little O did. I liked the website and the contract had all the right bullet points. I needed a responsible property manager to oversee my one house. My experience with Northpoint, and especially Shaun Romero was much the same as Little Os experiences. For example, Northpoint sent a contractor out to fix the trim on one (1) closet door and when I received the invoice (that I had to ask for, by the way) it showed the contractor charging me for an entire box of staples (the pneumatic type), not terribly expensive, but I shouldn't be paying to supply the contractor's toolbox. I believe the accountants call that "overhead". The mysteries of their accounting procedures are too numerous and too confusing to repeat after Little O's great description but I will relate some incidences that formed the crowning blow that caused me to happily end the relationship: A. In January, the tenant submitted a list of repairs upon signing a new lease. I told Shaun to go ahead with them. Shaun never attended to any of those repairs until March when I informed him that I would be coming to Phoenix in April for a visitation. B. Shaun told me that he would be available for the walk through in April but, lo and behold, on the day of my visitation, Shaun suddenly had been called away to Chicago leaving an agent from his office who had no idea about rentals to attend to my visit. C. I needed to have the house painted. I needed Shaun to act as the go-between between the painter and the tenant. I was forced to leave a message with Shaun to that effect (he never answered my phone calls and would only get back to me after many days - as much as a week or more - same with emails). After about a couple of weeks the painter contacted me to tell me that they were having trouble contacting the tenant and that Shaun told the painter that he (the painter) should contact the tenant. In other words, it appeared to be too much trouble, or not worth the time it would take for Shaun to get into his car and drive the thirty minutes to knock on the door of the house he was supposed to be managing. It turns out that the tenant had changed her phone number without telling anyone, but Shaun should have been on top of that. In my opinion, that's what I was paying him for. Northpoint has been wonderful and got the monkey off my back. When I took over my mother's home,there were numerous remodeling issues to address. Northpoint supported me in this process and now, stays ontop of maintenance issues that come up. Shaun is mindful of the expenses that will trickle down to my wallet but works to keep my renters happy. They have just signed up for their third year renting my home! My goal with owning a rental property is a hassle-free situation where I can collect a check every month on my investment. I would say Northpoint has helped me meet that goal. read more

I live in Denver and have a home in Suprise, AZ that I hired Northpoint to manage for me. At first, my contact there was great but she left and they transferred me to a man (Shaun R) who I was not happy with. My renter moved out June 30th and has been vacant ever since. They claimed that they listed the house on a number of rental websites but I could not find it on any of them when I looked. In addition, I thought maybe our house was priced too high (thus why it did not rent for 3 full months). When I asked Shaun about the websites he told me Northpoint has an autogenerator that reposts the ads every few days but I still couldn't find them. He ignored my question about rental prices all together. After 3 months of feeling ignored (and having my house vacant) and two consecutive weeks of no email responses from Shaun, I called the office and complained to the manager. I was assured that they would look into it and either the manager or the company VP would return my call. Needless to say, neither one did. Approximately two weeks later I got an email from Shaun saying that Northpoint was no longer going to service my area where should they send the keys. So, three months of lost income, exceedingly crappy service from my contact and the manager of the Phoenix office, and then dropped. After getting a new property manager, I've since learned that the carpet was not cleaned when the tenant moved out (there were food and other gross stains on it), the tenant left a non-working fridge in the garage that I had to pay to have removed and there had been homeless people living in the backyard since shortly after the house was vacated. Very, very unimpressive. I also have other rental properties and have never had service this bad. read more

Shaun is the best property manager i've ever seen. the online website and owners portal makes keeping track of my account super easy, and if i ever have questions, Shaun is always available to answer them. I've had Northpoint for over three years now, and its easily the best decision i've made for my home. the price is very inexpensive compared to other companies when i shopped around, and the service is excellent.
