I called Cool Zone because they were authorized to perform warranty repairs on my ac system. The tech found that the compressor had failed and needed to be replaced. He confirmed the unit was still under a parts warranty so my cost would be the labor and new freon that was recommended. He quoted $3,300 for 4 hours of labor! Then said if i purchased a maintenance plan that covered 2 visits for both of my units it would be cheaper at just under $3,100. What? That doesn't make sense. You Buy a service plan and pay less ?!! I expect that the "maintenance" is not intended to take care of the units but to give them 2 more opportunities to overcharge for additional services. I was told they would check availability of the compressor and his office would call me the next day. I was charged a $89 diagnostic fee. I told him his office told me the fee would be waived for repairs over $300. It was obvious to me that he had no intention of sharing this policy with me and said he would discount the repair bill after the work was done. I heard nothing more from them. It has been 2 days. After looking into his price I was told by 2 different companies that the quote was at the high end of the range for a unit that was NOT under warranty. I did not share this quote with either of these companies until after they priced the repair. Both told me the same thing and both quotes were competitive. A different factory authorized business is repairing the unit including line set cleaning and new refrigerant for $1,800. This is a predatory business overcharging people that are stuck in the AZ heat with a broken ac unit. They say a sucker is born every minute. Dont be a sucker! Stay away.

I'm so thankful for the way this outage was handled and so glad I chose Larson Air Conditioning to this day to handle my home comfort needs. A big thank you also to Cheyenne who was also always extremely pleasant to deal on the phone during my many calls while dealing with this rather stressful event. Lifesaver on a Saturday…read more We were really in a bind--our AC went out on a Saturday, and by the time our home warranty put in a request, all of the contractors they worked with were already closed for the day. Meanwhile, our house temperature was climbing to 90°, we have kids, pets, and a husband who works from home--leaving wasn't an option. Out of desperation, I called Pat directly. He answered right away, and was able to catch one of his technicians before they left for the day. They were at our house within 30 minutes! The technician was super friendly, professional, and calming, which helped so much because I was already stressing hard about potentially being without AC all weekend. He diagnosed and fixed the issue in under 30 minutes, and just like that, we had cool air again. Yes, we paid more than our $75 home warranty co-pay--but it was absolutely worth it to have the issue resolved same-day instead of waiting days or even a week for a scheduled appointment. We own a historic home that still had the original ductwork that was completely falling apart and…read moreneeded replacing. Douglas came highly recommended from another neighbor and came out quickly to give us an estimate. He knew right away that our old ductwork wasn't salvageable and walked us through how best to run new to get the best airflow from our unit. We still have the original plaster walls that are prone to cracking - he warned us it might not be the prettiest but he was confident it could be done. We got a couple of estimates from other companies just to be safe, but in the end Douglas made us feel the most comfortable and was the only one that offered us a price with the drywall/plaster work included. He works with a skilled drywall repair tech that did an excellent job of covering the old duct holes and thermostat location. He even matched the texture so once we paint it will barely be noticeable! This was no small job, we're talking about complete removal of the old lines, relocating the return and thermostat, running all new registers and ductwork, AND all the plaster work and Douglas and his crew did it in one day - in fact it only took them about 8 hours. We are absolutely floored by how good everything looks and we can already tell it's working a hundred times better than before. We cannot recommend Fenix Air enough.
