I found out I had mercury poisoning due to that the dentist didn't use a rubber dam removing my old fillings. The job was rushed. I must have swallowed lots of it during the procedure. I may have other health problems for the rest of my life and can't do anything because I was forced to sign a waiver before the procedure. I should have known better to trust this dental office. If they ask you to sign for anything, get up and walk out! Avoid this place! read more

Okay dentistry, I feel like I am constantly rushed when I'm there. Staff is either super nice or super rude, but they get the job done.

This place canceled my appointment without telling me! I showed up for my scheduled appointment today and due to a change in insurance, I was told I was removed from the schedule. The call I received only the day before made NO mention that my appointment would be canceled if I did not call back. I was aware my insurance needed to be updated because I have new insurance due to a new job change, but every other health appointment I've gone to has simply updated my insurance at the time of check-in, no hassle. I've been very busy lately and didn't have the chance to call back. As someone who has pretty severe anxiety and fear about going to the dentist, I need a dentist I can trust. I've been going to Northern Star Dental for years, but they're not it any more and I think it's time to find a new dentist. I took time off work for this appointment and for it to be canceled without notice is completely unacceptable. read more

terrible. i walk in and was told I didn't have an appointment when I did. I even showed proof I did and they didn't accommodate me at all. My mother even called and the front desk lady hung up. She's got light brown hair with blonde highlights. I drove all the way there for nothing. I went to northern star dental because i needed a crown. They were Reasonably priced & their reviews were good. I received a crown, however, afterwards, I experienced extreme pain, both with hot & cold temperatures, as well as when biting down. they told me that it was due to the cement they use to cement in the crown. Obviously, they've had this complaint before because they were aware that this was a side effect. Why would they continue to use this cement ? read more

I have not been able to find a dentist on the north shore that I really trusted until I went here. I had an excellent cleaning and when the doctor came in to check out my ex rays, I expected her to tell me I needed several root canals, and crowns. But instead she recommended refilling two cracked old fillings. The front desk told me how much insurance wouldn't cover and what I would be responsible for. I got my fillings today with no problems and it cost a few dollars less than their quote. All of the dentists I have previously seen have told me I need crowns on different teeth. One place had the hygienist trying to sell essential oils, fancy dental floss and overpriced electric toothbrushes while she cleaned my teeth. That dentist told me I needed crowns on different teeth every time I went to her. Total scammers. Dr Turner at Northern Star is ethical and did great work! I'm a happy patient! read more

Very nice office, convenient location, TVs during dental work, quality dentistry. I don't know if the prices are good because my insurance covers 80% of all work and I rarely get fillings. I had two small/fast fillings without novocaine and one bigger one with a double dose of novocaine for roughly $750 (I paid 20% of that). read more

I have been going to these folks for a few visits now and I really dig it. They're friendly, the office is nice, the equipment is first rate, and they have so far been very accommodating to my oddball requests. They are a husband and wife duo; she does the regular dentistry and he handles the surgeries, implants and extractions etc. Pretty rad that you don't have to be sent somewhere else when the going gets tough. Back in '88, I had a horrible experience with a one legged Dentist that chipped my tooth and stabbed my tongue accidentally with an empty syringe. Since then, I've been an ardent anti-dentate at my own detriment. About a month ago, I began experiencing the type of pain that has been outlawed at the Guantánamo Bay prison for terrorist, so begrudgingly I went to the Dentist. I was referred to this practice by the grace of God (or my wife, the Warden) and can't express enough how grateful I am for their compassion, professionalism and talents. The dynamic duo of Doctors Marvin and Christine Jarmoc are personally committed to their practice in a way not often seen anymore. It's a shame that their style of doing business should surprise the general public, but that's the price we pay as a society so impressed by the sizzle that we have very little value for quality steak. Doctors Jessica Dezube and Armenia Gregoria's are first class not only in their intellect but also in their craftsmanship. Doctor James Pastore is the real deal. His talent has made me stop to think if my clients think of me the way I think of him. I'm very grateful for his devotion and the type of confidence that can only be gained by someone with a true gift. Then there's Cindy Lopez, the Hygienist with the best eyebrows in the business and a thoroughness that can only come from taking pride in your work. Last, but certainly not least, there's the assistant of the year Meg. Due to my 30 year hiatus from seeing a dentist, my teeth have developed some 'issues'. I'm not going to lie, there's been some pain and Meg and I have been on quite a journey. We've laughed, we've cried and we've even seen Jesus. Her ambition and curiosity will benefit her in the years to come. As you can see by now, I've gotten to know these people over the past several weeks and will be referring them to friends for years to come. I am no longer an anti-dentate. Everyone at the practice is fantastic! I needed wisdom teeth and 2 pesky upper k-9 teeth that never came in properly removed. I have had an unnatural fear of the dentist since a bad experience when I was younger. Dr Jarmoc was very reassuring and when he performed the extractions I was in and out in 30 minutes. From simple fillings to oral surgery I cannot say enough good things about this dental practice. My girlfriend went here after having terrible experiences elsewhere. We were told I could sit with her during a simple tooth extraction due to her overwhelming anxiety. When we got here, I was told to wait in the waiting room by the dentist. When I voiced my concern he didn't seem to care. During the extraction she had an anxiety attack that could have been avoided if I could have sat with her. This experience has only worsened her (and my) opinion of dentists. It would be nice to actually be able to get an appointment at this dental group. I was referred by my endodontist after having a pretty painful and traumatic root canal, but still can't get an appointment. they have 2 dentists but the woman is really the only one that is there daily it seems and she books over a month out. When you have a temporary over a root canal you need to be seen asap. I have days off and every day till 3 pm I am avail also fridays I have ALL day off! yet even saying put me on the waiting list in case of cancellation, no call. I will go elsewhere. read more

I came to Northern Star and Dr. Christine Jarmoc after a terrible experience with a different dentist. I discovered an attentive and competent caregiver and I am so happy that I took a chance on this newer facility based on the relatively few, but glowing, Yelp reviews from other clients. The office is clean and new and well-staffed with equally capable, friendly and polished employees, such as Christine the gentle hygienist and the lovely and patient receptionists manning the front desk. My only criticism is that the walls are a bit austere and run the risk of being too clinical, which does not jibe with the welcoming atmosphere you provide your patients. Get some art in there, you guys! Local artists would be thrilled to oblige. read more

Nicest dentist office I've ever been to! The staff is all so friendly, from the owner right down to the receptionists! Doctor Christine Jarmoc gave me the smile I have always wanted in an hour without any pain at all which blows my mind! She truly seems to care about the patients health more than the money because I came to her wanted veneers which she advised me not to get so young and ended up doing bonding and composites which are just stunning and 1/10 of the price! Awesome! Amazing! Wonderful! Perfect! After meeting this husband and wife dentist team at a local event, I thought that I would leave my dentist for their new dental practice that they were telling me about. BEST DECISION EVER!! The office is welcoming and clean, the equipment is new and ultra modern and the personalities and talents in the office are top notch! My first visit was perfect! I had my exam and I was told what I could have done and what I should have done. I have always been leery of dentists being able to sell you what you don't need but this is not going to happen here. In fact they told me, and now my wife that switched to this practice, that we do not need to have things done that we were told were needed! I just finished having a long over-due graft done along with a new front upper tooth crown. My last dentist did a crown that was thick causing the tooth to be crooked. I figured that was just they way that it had to be. The crown also had a sharp upper edge which caused my gum to wear off and recede. That was the reason for the graft. The receded gum caused the upper black looking part of the old crown to show and made my smile, well, not good. Because of that, I haven't really had a full smile in years as evidenced by looking back at pictures. Plus, the old crown wasn't the correct white which stood out in pictures. I can smile now!!! No more keeping my top lip down over my upper tooth to hide the unsightly old crown and receded gum!!! This is AWESOME! I now find myself laughing while showing all of my teeth! This is WONDERFUL! It is the correct thickness! It is straight! It is the correct color! It is AMAZING! Doctor Marcin Jarmoc did a PERFECT graft! I couldn't believe that the only problem that I had was trying to stay awake during the surgery! Haha! There was no pain and he kept checking with me and letting me know what was going on. He is a very skilled and patient surgeon. I bet he could sew buttons on ice-cream!! Then there is his wonderful wife Doctor Christine Jarmoc. Incredible personality and talent! With the knowledge that she demonstrates, you would think that she invented dentistry. Like I mentioned before, she will tell you just what you need and what you could have done should you desire. Never will you pay for what you don't need! As with my crown, she will make sure that everything is perfect! She will take the time to adjust and change anything to be sure that you will look great! The only problem that I had with her was trying not to move, smile or laugh while being worked on because of her wonderful personality and her awesome interaction with the hygienists! I love it! No more marching into the office, getting the work done and marching out as I have done in the past at other offices. I actually enjoy going to the dentist now and, this is weird to state, almost hate to leave! I never thought that there would be a day when I look forward to going to the dentist to have major work done. Well, that day has come! I talked my wife into switching to this office. Her last dentist told her that she needed major work on a tooth ($$$). Doctor Christine did not know about that and when seeing the same tooth chose a coarse of treatment that is far less drastic and will cost us far less money. Again, you will not pay for what you do not need at this office. I could go on forever but had better stop now. In closing I will state that this office is state-of-the-art. There are things here that I have never seen before and that make your visit much better than at others offices. I will let you see what those are and be surprised for yourself. Also, you must know that you can trust these doctors with both your mouth and your wallet and that if you do not go to or switch to using them then you are settling for less than the best!!! read more

I had enjoyed an initial visit 3 weeks ago, and had hoped for a similar experience today. It was not to be. The woman at the desk made me feel humiliated about my dental insurance coverage and I will never go back. There was plenty if time to call me about the issue, but I got no phone call. I could have cancelled today's appointment. and not missed work to get there and be treated so rudely.
