I love Honey Field Farm as much as I've ever loved any farm. They have an incredible…read moreselection/quality of produce, flowers, hot sauce, etc.; are deeply rooted in community connection -- including with fellow farmers, local businesses, and of course their clientele; throw fantastic events; and have a truly excellent newsletter and cookbook (I have been turning to their fall harvest soup and creamy pumpkin soup recipes a lot this season!). Also, Valerie and Eli are two of the kindest, most caring people you could ever meet. I live on the west coast but have family in the northeast and try to make it to Honey Field Farm every time I'm out there. I also briefly want to respond to the one-star review: First, I want to express my deep gratitude to Eli and Valerie for voicing solidarity with Palestine and calling for an end to the genocide in Gaza. Second, I wholeheartedly believe that voicing support for Palestinians (no less, in a time of genocide) is not opposing care and support for Jews. Judaism has taught me so much about intersectional justice. One of those lessons is that our liberation is intertwined...freedom for Jews is bound up with freedom for Palestinians. I believe the messaging on the laminated sign referred to by the previous Yelp reviewer says exactly the right thing. I can understand why they feel differently, but I still wanted to take a moment to briefly explain why this visible solidarity with Palestine makes me feel even better about continuing to support Honey Field Farm ::insert heart emoji::

My heart is broken. I used to love this business. I got tons of shrubs and plants there the past…read morefew year, both at the Norwich market and their garden center. I appreciated the pride flag and felt safe. This year I was planning to take my kids to get a tree and our summer veggies, perennials, and annuals. But I was at the market and saw a laminated sign expressing their support for one side in the current Middle East war and desire to share their views with customers. I have spent significant time traveling the entire region and have dear friends on both sides of this conflict. I detest that one side has no political autonomy. I also detest that there people at a music festival and living in near by kibbutzim were killed, s@chalky assaulted, and or kidnapped. I met with them. Would I go to the center and see a sign that would cause me to feel emotionally unsafe by ignoring any aspect of complexity or the complicity of each side? I shared with Eli and he was gracious. But he kept the sign out. So with a broken heart, I bought my veggie plants at other shops at the market and I'll take a pass on the tree I'd wanted to buy. Couldn't they simply have added a few words of empathy for Israelis? The phrase "Bring the hostages home" would have been a comfort. It wouldn't diminish their identification unless they support hostage taking which I doubt. But I don't know. So sad.

So I googled this place this morning after checking weed maps and not wanting to drive to Mass…read more I've been to big fatty's and their bbq is mouth watering, FYI, which is across the parking lot, which means I've seen White River Growpro time and time again and never ventured in, until today. It was a gentleman, I'm unsure if his name, but he was quite knowledgeable on the different strains of seeds, gummies, growing, and the list could go on. There were two young ladies in there as well who also assisted in my choice of seeds. I'm a veteran and they give discounts!!!!!!!! Excited becaus some dispensaries do NOT give military discounts. You wanna know something else??? They gave me a plant. THEY GAVE ME A PLANT Y'ALL. I went back twice in one day because of the price of their gummies in comparison to another dispensary. These folks get my love.

My garden is Fucking AWESOME. THANK YOU KENDALL! Recreational is around the corner. Don't short cut. The service is rather slow and if they don't like what you're asking them to get you its very clear…read morethey just act like they don't know how to do it. ( Such as crickets or other small bugs they have to count out, even counting out the feeder fish.)But the place is always clean, well stocked and have all the newest things on the market. The selection is always up to par. The staff is the biggest problem so I think if they weeded out the ones that don't want to do alittle bit of everything it would be an all around great place. Just a few kinks they gotta work out.

I visited Clean Paws Grooming yesterday and I was very disappointed in how I was treated by Morgan…read more She was downright hostile towards me and dismissive of my knowledge about my pet (like how to get her into the bathing tub, etc). I honestly don't know how she thinks she can talk to customers the way she did to me and stay in business. I have never been treated or spoken to so poorly by anyone! I reluctantly left my dog there but was shaking with anger about this interaction. When I picked up my dog from Clean Paws Morgan couldn't have been nicer to me. I don't know if she had some insight into how she treated me when I initially arrived or what but I will never return to this grooming business ever again. If you make an appointment with Clean Paws grooming do not book with Morgan. After the appointment I walked directly to the store part of the business and spoke to a manager and let them know of my very poor experience.
