I felt this event space deserved an updated review, see updated posted photos. The older reviews were old=1 yr-10 yrs old and upon reading them before arrival I was horrified with the upcoming visit & what we could expect. Don't get me wrong, this place needs work, but it's not as bad as it the "years ago reviews" or could be. We played a high school hockey game here, visiting from out of state. It was extremely cold inside, and I've visited A LOT of rinks over several years. There were mounted heaters above the stands, but they weren't on or did not work. I didn't visit the locker rooms or men's restrooms but told they reeked of urine and were very dirty. The ladies room in the rink area had 2 extremely small stalls and very dirty toilets but had necessary supplies. There was just an excessive amount of rust with any steel, screws, or supports, questioning the stability. Parking was minimal, with overflow needed across the street area businesses. Luckily it was a Sunday so no issues. The staff/players/parents we encountered were all nice. read more

This place is disgusting. I can't believe it's still up and running. The smell of bleach or whatever that's burning our eyes is clearly masking the smell of mold, mildew and stench of urine. The locker rooms have carpet on the bench that haven't been clean in years. There is rust everywhere. Not just a little it's fully caked on. You're not sure where to touch or hold onto when sitting on the bleachers that's rotton iron and wood. I am shock health inspector have not closed this place down. Or the owner must have paid them off. read more

I would highly recommend the skating program. Really good. Also, the american pie show is really good, and the people made a huge effort. But, the skates are absolute crap. BRING YOUR OWN IF YOU PLAN TO LONG TERM SKATE HERE!!! Unfortunately, it is really dirty and old. Please fix the parking lot. It is extremely hazardous. If this place got remodled, I would give it five stars. read more

This rink is a fire hazard. I swear you need a tetanus shot just for walking in. The back of the bleachers are rusted and someone is going to fall through. The whole place needs bulldozed. If I could give it a negative star I would. read more

The Northern Kentucky ice center is our favorite place to skate! The coaches are far and away the best in the area. The staff works incredibly hard and they are so friendly and helpful. My whole family loves coming here! read more

It may be a little rough around the edges but I actually like it better that way. Honestly it feels so chill. The ice is just fine which is the main reason people go to ice rinks right? It works for what I want and what I need. The people are nice, they even have an ice guard during public skate which is super cool. Don't judge a book by its cover. Maintaining an ice arena is expensive so it makes sense that somethings aren't kept in pristine condition. read more

We were there for a hockey tournament last weekend. It has an ice rink that is all I can say. Owner obviously does not want to maintain the property, fix or clean anything. Bathrooms and the locker rooms were disgusting. During the game is was raining on the players on the bench through the ceiling. It was also the coldest rink of 10 we have traveled to over the past few years. There were heaters in the ceiling above the stands but they were not turned on, likely broken. Parking lot a total mess. Really bad. If you bring your kids for a skate make sure the are bundled up and don't use the bathroom. Maybe the owner will see this review and actually do something about the problems. read more

I don't know how this place is rated so low. It's definitely not the prettiest but when your ice skating I don't really think that matters. They take good care of the ice and it's never very crowded so you can have a lot of room to practice. The music is always good and they have a small concession stand with amazing hot chocolate. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because when you want your blades sharpened it can be a wait or sometimes the person isn't there at all but other than that I love practicing here! read more

Worst ice rink in the greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky area. Parking lot is completely a huge pothole if you don't have four-wheel-drive don't even pull into it. Inside the rink has not been updated and 30 years mold all over. read more

They should have torn this down along with Hara and Cincinnati Gardens. But it is ice, so there ya go. The place is dirty, seating is petrified wood that hasn't been cleaned in ages. Restrooms are not kept up. I just pray I don't catch something everytime I'm there. The ceiling is falling in, even places they can reach to stuff the insulation back up, they don't. Employees are nice but, this rink is a DUMP! Looks like the building in general is not taken care of, ice rink is not great either and they didn't use the zambonie for public skate last I went. Rental skates are awful. I went through 3 pair before giving up. The blades are not sharp at all so your feet slide out when you should be able to grip the ice for control. (Which is unsafe in my opinion.) people just stand around on the rink talking because they obviously cannot skate. The bathroom is disgusting and the parking lot does need to be redone. I hope the owner reads the reviews on here to realize how much business they are losing. I will drive to Ohio next time. read more

No stars for this crap shack (yelp made me choose one) What a dump! My kids loved skating but next time I will go out of my way to not go there. The service was terrible, one of the two stalls in the bathroom was broken. My daughter fell while sitting on a bench that toppled over when someone got up. I told the only "adult" that worked there that it was dangerous and he laughed. They were very busy. You can't tell me they don't make enough money to put a little work in to it. I used to go there all the time when I was a teen but I don't think I'd let my daughter go there...the ceiling will probably cave in. read more

I have not been to NKY ice center since 2014, until my kids played a game with their new team here a few months back. Coming back made me want to make this review. First lets discuss the facility. It is horrible! You can literally mess your car up just trying to get in and out of the parking lot. It's basically one huge pot hole. The owner does not spend any money to fix/update anything. There is not one part of that building that has had any work on it in years. The roof has spots that are falling down and it leaks water all over(they have buckets sitting around to collect the water). Not sure where all the money goes but he does not take care of the building. The main ice rink is not bad most of the time, but there will be a time in the summer where there will be about a 1/4 in layer of water on it. The small rink in the back is a disaster and seems like a liability. There is sand coming up around the edges it has huge marks and chunks missing out of it. Overall this place is a mess and not a good place. To bad it's NKY only ice rink. Second, lets talk about the hockey program! My children love hockey and I started them here in the learn to skate program. The coaches in that program were awesome. They both moved to the next level up, which I believe is mites, and the program was good and again the coaches were great. Early in 2014 the kids moved up to the next step, which I think was squirt. This is were it gets bad. The coaches only care about the kids that are really good(mostly their kids and their buddies kids). They put no time into the kids that need a little help making that transition to a higher level of the game. The only coach I can remember is Chuck, not sure of last name. He seemed nice and would coach the kids but you could tell the ones that were good got most of the attention. The other coaches that helped only coached the kids they knew and had coached before. It is really a shame that grown men act this way and are not willing to help all the kids. FYI, there are numerous parents that fill this way! I pulled my kids from this hockey program and rink and now travel over to Cincinnati to a rink that is very nice and hockey team that has true coaches that want ALL the players to be better. Both of my kids are very happy with the new team and have actually progressed with the help of these coaches to a level of playing on a travel team. Maybe one day a new owner will take over NKY ice and fix it up and get some good coaches in that actually care about making ALL the kids better and not just their own! read more

This is a great place to take your family. Great people to help you. Great people to skate with. I drive over an hour 1 way to visit, I can go that same distance to other rinks as well. This is where I choose to take my daughter and/or her friends. It's not all shiny and new, it doesn't have a 5 star cafeteria, go somewhere else for that. It is a tremendous value for your dollar. You get public skating time on the same rink that the hockey tournaments are played on. For those looking for good clean fun with their family, they will find it here. Good ice, well lit, tons of skates to rent. I grew up in N MN. Not a hockey star. Not an Olympic skater. But I owned my own skates all through childhood. I've seen just a little ice once before maybe. I would say anyone who didn't have a good time-they chose not to. read more
