We had some roof work that needed to be done. We had a new roof put on six years ago that was installed a little sloppily. We got several bids. The initial contact we had with Northern Exteriors was not great. The initial man they sent was not a good people person. We decided to go with Northern Exteriors despite of him. Of the options we had we felt best about this decision. That is when Roberto came to the rescue. He apologized for the original front man and immediately began to take care of us. They sent a crew out to work on our roof that just so happen to be there at the same time that our original roofing guy showed up to defend his work. They were gracious enough to send the crew away and they came back the following week to get the job done. They identified her problems and fixed them quickly. I will let pictures of their work speak for itself. If i could give zero stars I would. These are my actual experiences and are reflective of my personal opinion. For the experiences of others, I will let you refer to the appropriate review platforms (ksl, Yelp, BBB, etc.) We selected this Northern Exteriors (AKA Northern Gutters) based on their presentation of materials that they offered and their 5-star Google review that was highlighted during the initial meeting accompanied by the 5-star Google review prominently displayed on the advertising where I found their company in a monthly mailer. The first attempt installing the siding that had to be removed after I informed Roberto that it was unacceptable. See photo Second attempt, I had to ask the crew to stop working because the quality of workmanship was not satisfactory to me. I reached out to foreman, and they agreed that it was not up to their standards. See pictures Roberto told me they were going to bring in a new crew and that I would be happy with them. At some point, during their 3rd attempt at installing the siding, a crew member said that I asked them to change out batten strips. I never requested this change and was sent a change order in the amount of $2500. I declined to sign as I did not request nor agree to these changes and their agreement states; "Prior to any changes of cost, the client will be notified." Due to poor material handling, they had to completely repaint all the factory painted Hardy panels. After their painter had finished, I went out to inspect the work and he had spilled/splashed paint on large portion of our brand-new paver installation. I had to pay someone else over $2k to steam clean and reseal the pavers. The did offer to send "one of their guys" over to fix it but i declined due to how bad the project was going. See pictures On March 1st, Sam did reach out to discuss our disagreement on the change order. I told him I would send him pictures of the damage to our property and building caused by his crews, and we could discuss after he reviewed them. I sent him the email with the pictures of the issues, and he responded they he had received them on 3/8/2024. I have reached back out on 4/20/2024 and 5/6/2024 with no response. See the pictures of the quality of workmanship that I sent to Sam as well as damage to existing materials (drip edges and roofing materials installed by someone else) caused by their crew during the siding and soffit installation. See pictures Fast forward to today, this is what the install looks like. It has gotten so bad that I will most likely be replacing all the chamclad material they installed. See pictures On September 17, 2024, the siding manufacturer, Chamclad responded to my email and stated the following Northern Exteriors work: (see picture of email) The most disgusting and dishonest part of dealing with the owners of this company, is the fact that I emailed Kelcee on 1/11/2024 that I was sending via certified mail, the final payment due on the original contract in the amount of $8,611.43. Knowing this, Kelcee STILL filed a lien on our property on 1/12/2024 in the amount of $11,111.43, which was the amount due plus the $2500 change order in dispute. As of 3/25/2026, the FULL LIEN IN THE AMOUNT OF $11,111.43 is still recorded on our property and the check for $8,611.43 was cashed on 1/25/2024!!!!! Lastly: In addition to the grossly inaccurate amount on the lien which is still in place at the time of this review 3/25/2026 A YEAR LATER, in a letter from their lawyer dated 1/16/2024, Northern threatened to initiate foreclosure proceedings on our house unless we pay the disputed amount. Choose your contractor wisely. We had siding, soffit and gutters done. The crew were all Spanish speaking. This was something I was worried about when I signed the contract, but was assured that my sales person would be on site to relay any information. That didn't happen. The things that left our house looking like a bunch of amateurs had done the work when we were paying for professional work. 1) They cut holes bigger than needed and then filled it full of calk. 2) They were not going to complete the underside siding on our porch. I had to push the issue that was included in the cost of the project. Eventually it was completed, although it doesn't look very nice. 3) On our roof we had vents. They did not finish the trim on the vents and did not replace the vents that prevented critters couldn't get into our attic. At one point the sales guy wanted me to pay the balance of the contract. He said they needed that so that they could buy supplies. I refused. When calls stopped being returned by our sales guy, I text and threatened to call his boss. When he did return a text he told me that he had been let go because he was looking for a new job and the owner, Clive, found out. He was looking for a new job because the owner was not paying him. He gave me the phone number of Clive. I called him and left a message, but I have not heard anything from that company since then. We had to finish the rest of the job ourselves. Cam Lebbon and his team did a fantastic job building my deck. Sadly, Northern Exteriors did not pay their employees, subcontractors and suppliers for the last few months, and have now disappeared into the wind. Five STARS for Cam, and zero for Northern Exteriors. read more

Hate to do this, but I just can't take the fact that Northern Exteriors will not finish our awning roof in Lehi. Signed papers in September, 2024, and paid over $12K down payment. Was told they could start 4 week later. Did not start until almost 5 months later. Then said it would take 2 weeks to finish. It's been 4 weeks with no signs of these people ever finishing the job. We call and text them all the time, and NOTHING. Picture from above the unfinished roof (pounded by wind, rain and snow for 5 weeks). As shown by the images, there is water damage, rust, rot. Will probably need to get our lawyer involved now :( read more

I had Northern do a major exterior remodel on my home. We met in the summer and it took a few months to get going because they were busy. I worked with Cam on the deck and patio roofing and Jonathon with the exterior siding. My wife and I were so impressed with the crews they sent. The craftsmanship was as good as we could have imagined. They were always on time and cleaned up every day when they left. We asked them to fix a couple of items and they did it without hesitation and to our satisfaction. read more

I had Northern come out initially give me a quote on a deck and was treated exceptionally well so I decided to have them also quote me on siding and windows as well. their prices are fair, their people are great. I have had them complete the deck as of right now but will also have them do the rest in short order, these people are great to work with and would highly recommen. read more

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. Northern Exteriors replaced my roof, siding, soffit, facia, and gutters. The project started off rough as materials were dropped off way too early. I noticed early on that the attention to detail wasn't there, I called Sam and expressed my concerns he asked for me to send pics since there was no one on site that was managing the project. He got the pics and said all that will be dealt with during touch ups. Hardie install requirements were not followed; butt joints in lap siding should separated by two stud bays, so 32" for 16" OC spacing, which is what my house is, and all joints should land on a stud. All joints on my project are 16" apart and do not land on studs. When I brought this to Sam's attention he tried to argue and said this is not required. The Hardie install guide and Hardie Rep I spoke to disagree, but this was never corrected. Starter strips are required for the first row in a run to set the angle of the lap, this was not done. All protrusions for plumbing/electrical were cut sloppy with square holes for round penetrations and then 1" gaps filled with caulk. The soffit was visibly wavy with an inadequate number of fasteners and could be pushed up by hand. I requested Sam to come out in person. Mike, him, and his wife walked around the property and took pictures of everything. They all stated it would be taken care of. Recorded on surveillance footage of the visit. I had to constantly site the Hardie install guide. The initial crew was sent back to try to fix some things and ended up making it worse than it was to begin with, but this time the crew left trash, including their own food, paint bottles, and nails. They drove over the paint bottles and leftover caulk spreading over the driveway. Still not cleaned up today. Our cameras caught them drinking on the job and Corona bottles/caps scattered as further evidence.A pile of trash remained in my driveway for weeks with paper, plastic, nails scattered all over my property. Sams response was that a truck was broken and asked me to pick up the trash that was blowing around.None of the cut edges of Hardie, z-flashing, or trim was painted prior to install so the crew spray painted it all leading to over spray all over the adjacent color-plus Hardie siding. Paint drips everywhere, some pieces of plank only a few inches long as they didn't plan the run properly, planks were not parallel, over-driven nails, inconsistent butt joint spacing, caulk everywhere - randomly wiped on siding, roof, and anywhere convenient to clean the gun or fingers, caulk joints over 1" wide, missing starter strips, missing trim, uneven cuts around windows/trim leading to variable gaps from 0 to 1" along same joint, damaged/broken lap, etc As of today, there are significant cracks in the Hardie, gutter downspout is still crooked from being removed to replace trim/lap, caulk and paint still need to be touched up/removed. What I've described here is only some of the issues I had. To describe it all would take a short book in how poorly the project was planned and managed read more
