Had a great time celebrating my sister-in-law's birthday with the Spa City Brew Bus.  We visited 3…read morewineries and a distillery around Saratoga.  The bus was spotless, driving was great (thanks, Bruce!), music was great.  Hoj is a super host.  He's very knowledgeable about the process of making wine, beer and spirits, so he is able to create relationships with local producers.  That enabled us, for example, to get a private vineyard tour with the vintner.  The vintner took us on a field tour while we drank the wine from the grapes we were looking at up close in the field.  Thankfully, none of the vineyards were pretentious.  Everything (and everyone) was very down-to-earth which let everyone focus on what they liked rather than what they were *supposed* to like. I've never been on a vineyard tour bus before, but I would totally do it again.

Since we came for a tasting, we were seated at the bar. We looked forward to the standard tasting (7, 3/4 oz pours), but found out once we were seated that they weren't doing those that day because they were busier earlier in the day. Instead, they offered us a flight (4, 2oz pours) for $15. However the glasses didn't have lines on them and the pours we got were significantly less than the couple next to us who were served by a different person. As far as the wines, they had a variety of sweet and dry, red and white, but I didn't find any that I loved. If I lived in the area I would definitely come back for the atmosphere, since this seems like a great space for events, or with friends since they have a large selection of wines. I also felt like the staff were helpful and friendly too.

He's very knowledgeable of the area, well prepared, and an all around fun and great guy. He picked us up at our hotel at Marriott Courtyard Poughkeepsie and after the tour dropped us off at the Beacon Train station it really worked out very well. Geoff ended up running our tour and was so nice and patient. We are a bit, um, loud sometimes but Geoff made sure to get the best angles with every group picture and even picked up our untimely food order so we wouldn't miss the last tasting. He was also extremely knowledgeable about local wine! **THE EXPERIENCE** It was a gorgeous fall Saturday. I highly recommend taking this trip in October, as the foliage was breathtaking. Milea Vineyard, our first stop, felt like a mansion, and the tasting room was sunlit and gorgeous. Clinton Vineyards was more of a country farmhouse, and our group had a private tasting with the owner, Phyllis, who is a super interesting woman. The last, Milbrook, was a bit busy, but the property has a cute lake and food, and before the tasting, you can check out the vineyard and store. Again HIGHLY recommended! This is owned and operated by a farm-to-table-loving husband and wife team; they are both extremely affable and deeply informative on the surrounding areas and history of the Catskills. Learned some incredible facts: ask about the ford dealership that struck a deal with Henry Ford himself! They are being very COVID conscious, with the staff wearing masks and social distancing enforced. You are able to do tastings of all of their spirits, including various flavors of moonshine, whiskey, gin, limoncello, and my personal favorite, Cowboy Coffee, which is a coffee liquor which can be enjoyed on the rocks or mixed with coffee or creamer. In the summer, they had a very nice outdoor area where you could sit and enjoy one of the mixed drinks available for sale. There's a great view of the hillside as well which makes for some really nice photos. And of course, all of the spirits are available for purchase. I returned recently to pick up a few more bottles of the Cowboy Coffee and Limoncello. Overall a nice spot to spend an afternoon in nice weather, or to stop and grab some great spirits!

The cheese comes from Argyle Dairy right down the road(we stop there too)! We always leave with a case of wine after a visit. I especially like the fieldstone white, it is a clean dry white. A couple members of our group did not want to drink alcohol, but the staff was still very friendly and accommodating and brought them water at no additional charge. We were attended to by several folks and they were all very kind and the service was relaxed. There was no pressure to turn over the table, and we appreciated this as we are all old friends looking to catch up. We also brought in our food from Casa Reyes down the street, and they had no problem with this and even kindly disposed of our trash from the meals. Several folks at our table had the sangria and wine pours and I did the tasting. I was not particularly impressed with the wines and was not interested in buying them, but they were all drinkable and I was grateful to try them. The only major detracting factor of our visit was that there were a lot of fruit flies in the tasting area, which was rather unpleasant. I hope this was a one off and that they can control this in the future, because we would definitely return here.
