Waited 2 weeks for an appointment. I took off work and drove 40 mins today for my appointment only to find out they canceled my appointment without notifying me. They sent me an email confirming my appt and then cancelled it without a care at all for my time. Very disrespectful and unprofessional. Not even an apology when I arrived. DEMOREST LOCATION Dr Herringer, Jennifer and her immediate staff are excellent but unfortunately I can't say the same about the front office staff. The office manager has NO customer service skills. She over talks you, calls you "dear" ( which shouldn't be allowed). I made an appointment, verified Dr Herringer was in network. Waited 3 months for the appointment. Was in office for 3 hours and then 2 months later they tell me she's not in network. The Manager threw a floating trainee under the bus, saying he was at fault but actually when I made the appointment and gave the insurance information to the front office supervisor and was told they are in network. I never had interaction with the male (floater/trainee) until the day of appointment. I am very upset about this and also don't understand how it could go so far and so much time wasted. It's seems to me the office manager should do more than be rude and nasty to people. Seems like the office manager should be ultimately responsible for making sure things are done properly instead of blaming the trainee, especially when it's been 5 months or more before they verify. I personally do not trust people like this taking care of mine or others health in such a careless way. Dr Herringer is wonderful but now she has lost at least one patient and I'm sure there are more people this is happening to. I tried to bring this to NEGA administration's attention but they don't seem to care enough to make a phone call. Bottom line I personally feel the office manager needs to be replaced with someone qualified and knows how to treat people. read more

Tried to get my medications, which I cannot be without, refilled via MyChart. Continually denied by Medical Assistant!! She only replies that I need to schedule an appointment, which I already have. Was there end of November, told to return in 4 months, scheduled before leaving the office that day! Went to office at 1:00 PM today, to speak to Practice Manager, Whitney, apparently she had "just left" for a meeting, expected back in an hour. Called again at 4:45 to make sure she received my message, she had, but chose not to return my call! Spoke with Medicare about how to file an abuse claim. If no return call tomorrow, I will file an official complaint. read more

I have to say most of my experiences here have been with the emergency room which is not impressed me at all. In the last four weeks my mom has gone by ambulance four times in terrible pain from a blood clot in her leg and they will not admit her to care for her. She lives in an assisted living, I am the only family member in the area and travel a lot and I depend on her place for transportation to and from when needed or 911. Three different doctors consulted not to give her a blood thinner to relieve the pressure on her leg and clear the clot, but none of them days of heart will do you anything because she's had doctors at other hospitals work on her. Not one consulted with a neurosurgeon which they have in the hospital forcing me to take off work and take her to Gainesville where they happily gave her a CAT scan, determined she was cleared have any threat and was immediately given a prescription for blood thinners. They were part of Longstreet clinic who consulted with Northeast Georgia physicians group in Gainesville and their neurosurgeon gave the OK. One trip they put her in the hallway after telling me they were going to check her out where she sat in a chair in terrible pain while the case manager was anxiously trying to reach me by phone while I was in Washington DC to determine who's going to pay the $50 to give her a ride home. They didn't call the assisted living she lives in, they simply put her in the hall. So I called my son and got him out of school and he went to the ER, ask where she was, he went that direction he thought she was in and found her in the hall freezing to death crying and in pain. No discharge papers and she had been there for quite some time so we asked a nurse or someone close by for a wheelchair which they gave him and he took her out to the front by himself with no comments from any personnel in the ER and he got her back to her house. Three days later they kicked her out again saying they can't do anything she sat for four hours finally got the discharge papers, called me again when I was out of town mostly concerned on how someone is going to pay $50 to take her 5 miles back to her residence. I handled the $50 and told them I will tell everyone not to go to this emergency room if they expect their loved ones to be treated right. The nurses knew they were understaffed and covered for the doctors as if they were going to get fired. Thank God for nurses and PAs. Hopefully the hospital will get their act together and get ER doctors that make complete thorough decisions and not simply dwell on the fact that they need to get people in and out quick. The hospital is not part of this review just the emergency room as the offices and specialist on the first second third and fourth floors have all seem to be very good at what they do. Just one very frustrated pissed off patron here who spent A lot of hours getting his mom to another location where she would be cared for. And I did. read more

I have been calling the billing dept at NGPG for weeks now with not much help BUT today was SO MUCH different! I 1st spoke with Ms. Ryan who not only was VERY polite, professional, had great customer service, listened to EVERYTHING that I said and concerned me, answered ALL my questions and concerns, but went out of her way to get me every number she possibly could to help me get in touch with the right people to resolve the bill and the problem where it said I had another insurance, which I do NOT. I can tell she loves what she does and it isn't just a job for her. You seriously need more people like MS. HORRIBLE Made an appointment 2 MONTHS AGO. When the appointment came around I was stuck in some unexpected traffic went to the location to find out they moved to another location. Tried calling the new location to find out that theyre number isn't available til 9:00am!!! My appointment was at 8:15am. They've been moved since NOVEMBER and haven't their things up to date yet?! Called the main call center of northeast Georgia and the unprofessional lady said she didn't even know what to do. So I decided to go to the new location to plead my case Went to the location 30 mins late and the receptionist said that I'd have to reschedule. If there was a no stars review I would have gave it! Terrible bedside manners. Told me I had to be diabetic bc my newborn son had lung issues. Claimed his lungs were not fully developed. Nope- he had a collapsed lung due to aspiration and air stuck inside. Even the dr said it wasn't my fault. Some of the nurses and another dr were so damn rude and telling me this and this were my fault. Well guess what- any baby can aspirate At delivery. I'm terrified my baby would die and already blaming myself and you try to push blame on me? Oh and then telling me I had to be GBS positive and it's mt fault that the status could change. Um hello my last test for it was at 38 weeks. Not helping esp when I find out I did nothing wrong AND all my labs show you I was healthy. Go to the Gainesville location over braselton for everything! Work on your bedside manner esp when you don't have a clue what the actual issue is and stop just throwing out blame at the mother. My doctor left NGPG Cleveland to go to a different NGPG office. I made an appointment with the replacement physician, for March. In the meantime I need medication refills based on meds I was already receiving, including for blood pressure. NGPG Cleveland now refuses to refill my prescription until I see someone else. I will be out of my blood pressure medicine before I can see someone there. How can they just cut me off a necessary medication because my doctor went to a different office and I can't see a replacement right away? read more

This practice involving several specialties and physicians is FAR more interested in their own interests and covering their own backsides than caring for patients. For More than 5 years I have been a regular patient of 5 physicians and specialtiess here with no serious issues of mutual cooperation. They are busy but I have been very patient waiting up to 1.5 hrs AFTER appt scheduled times with little complaint. Several months ago I had a 2pm appt with one of the PRACTIONERS. I usually arrive a bit early in case of any paperwork needing completion but this time arrived exactly at 2 pm. I apologized for arriving later than usual and was told to take a seat and they would call me when Id be served. In a couple minutes I was summoned and told they had a policy that if a patient was more than 10 minutes late they had to reschedule or wait to see if someone canceled. I pointed out I was exactly on time, it was only 2:04 even then and she said sorry but I was supposed to be there 15 min early (my appt said 2pm) Id driven 1.5 hrs to get there in bad weather, and booked the appt a couple MONTHS earlier. I was getting nowhere and asked for a Supsrvisor and plead my case to her but was again treated rudely although I didnt cuss, raise my voice, or gesture threateningly. I was upset and getting chest pains, short of breath, and doubled over with cramping. They were trying to reschedule me. When I saw I was getting nowhere I just walked away and took a seat in the adjacent wainting room to calm down and see if my symptoms would subside I sat quietly speaking to no one. After 25-30 min I was approached by 2 armed security guards one of whom questioned me while the other stood scowling. I was feeling better and said I was leaving and did. I wrote to a couple people with no response until a month later I got a certified letter DISMISSING ME FROM THE ENTIRE PRACTICE for being "foul & disruptive" and allowing no appeal. I had 5 DOCTORS Id been seeing for 5-6 years and just tossed me out without explaining why. They have continued to be rude, ignoring leters and not returning calls. The Physician Excutive Director Anthony Rios, MD promised to BBB that he would contact me and has not and the Patient Experience Dept also lied about getting back to me and explaining it. Nobody will give names or answer me on WHAT I DID, because I did nothing wrong. This organization has "practice managers" who are no kind of medical practictioners that make all these decisions with no accountibility to anyone and are extremely RUDE to patients. And they only comply with HIPPA ruled when they are to their advantage and WONT give their names. Im not through yet though. read more

Bethlehem location: Dr Calvin Terrelonge Physician himself was patient, listened well and had a good bedside manner. Practice office was clean and staff friendly and attentive. However, I was charged $300 for an office visit with no other services. I was given a rx for a chronic condition with only 1 refill. Who can afford to pay that much every other month, not me. This is in reference to Dr.Scales at the Braselton Ga location of NGPG Orthopedics. I broke my arm while in Texas on business. I returned and saw Dr.Scales for my follow up. His staff was very friendly and made sure I was comfortable. He sent me for additional tests to track my nerve damage and has just a great bedside manner. He referred me to another doctor in the group to manage the nerve issue but I look forward to seeing him again when it's time to remove the plates and pins in my arm. read more

OBgyn on 3rd floor of hospital has the absolute worst customer service and people skills of all time. In my 28 years of life, countless doctors visits under my belt and doctors visits for my grandfather with more doctors and offices I could keep count of... this doctors office has been the WORST. They will NOT call you back, ever. They probably don't even check their voicemails. If you're smart enough to set up the app and make an account to MyChart or Myhealth, you'll have to google for answers on your labs that you paid for and make arrangements elsewhere. These people are insensitive and incompetent. If they won't call you back for a serious medical issue, what good are they for?! This experience is for the Hoschton, GA location. However, it is apparently all the same group under the same umbrella: One star is generous. If I could give less than one I would. Basically I have tried to make an appointment with these people three times now. Each time, they claim they cannot get me in for anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks. So this third try I finally asked the girl what type of business model they have? I mean if you choose a PCP you choose them to be your primary care physician. It is quite clear that this practice only wants to do annual physicals and/or check ups that are scheduled months out. Ridiculous to say the least. They apparently have this scam where they refer you to their urgent care facility over in Jefferson for anything that cannot wait for months for a doctor to be seen. This way they can charge you and your insurance company through the roof. If a Doctor or administrator or even and owner would like to call me to deny this, or perhaps to apologize for the incompetence of their employee I spoke to on this, I would be more than happy to discuss it with them. Until then, I will let every person I know locally that this is not a good choice and you are better off driving a little further where there are much better options. read more

This pertains to the Flowery Branch location: I showed up 15m early so I could fill in the new patient paperwork. When I got there I needed to use the bathroom so I asked the receptionist if it was ok to go or if I needed to leave a urine specimen. She checked with the lab and said I was fine to go ahead and go. Soon after returning from the bathroom my name was called. The nurse spoke little english and had no manners. She didn't try to exchange pleasantries, say hello or even make eye contact or smile. She walked to the scale and said "weight"...which then was followed by "height" and "blood pressure". I was really unimpressed with this practice as a first time patient. In the room I find out I was supposed to be told to fast for blood work but wasn't told that when I made my appointment so they said I would have to come back on another day for that. The nurse was in the room several minutes reviewing my chart but not speaking to me except for a couple of broken questions. She then asked me to get undressed and she would be back. She came back too soon and I was standing there completely undressed. She knocked and began to walk in so I had to blurt out "I'M NOT DRESSED!" I waited for awhile in the crop-top style paper top and finally Dr Manekar came in. She was pleasant enough and quickly got to business. She raced through my medical information not seeming to care what I had written down. She was quick to recommend that I see her for my weight loss and touted her bariatric specialty. (If you look on their Facebook page they push her as that and not a family doctor.) When I told her I already started Weight Watchers she again said she would be happy to see me EACH MONTH to discuss medical avenues for weight loss. Then she asked me several different times and in different ways if I felt down or stressed because she could write for Zoloft...which again meant seeing her next month for a follow up. I told her I was just fine and didn't need it. She did the exam and then walked out. I got dressed and headed out the door, completely frustrated because she had no real interest in my medical care. I got to my car and realized the ONLY reason I was there, to get my birth control pills refilled, she hadn't addressed AT ALL. So I walked back in and told the receptionist this. And guess what I was told I needed to do...give a urine specimen...the very first thing I had asked when I got there. At this point I was beyond frustrated! I was walked back to the lab where they tried to draw the labs AGAIN...and I told them I had not been told to fast and I needed to come back. So I left the urine sample. I asked the nurse if they were writing the BCP prescription and she now they said I needed my blood pressure rechecked because it was a little high. IT WAS HIGH BECAUSE OF THEIR INABILITY TO DO THEIR JOBS. I spoke with the office manager and had a lovely conversation where she admitted that there were MANY breakdowns in service today. Another nurse came in and took my blood pressure and guess what...it had come down because I don't have a hypertension issue I have a "can't deal with inadequate staff" issue. I left thinking I would finish this cycle (get the labs and such down) and seek a new practice. An hour ago the Dr had the office manager call and tell me I am not welcome back to her practice because of my anger issue. The office manager admitted that they were wrong on many accounts but said the doctor didn't want me to come back because the staff would be uncomfortable. The reality is the Dr new she was wrong and was embarrassed that I called her out on it. Do yourself a favor and NEVER go to this practice. read more

The entire Northeast Georgia Physicians Group is a train wreck! (one of their offices even admits it). Stay far away from them. I thought by putting all of my care into one group would benefit myself and I would get better than usual care. Outside of my regular physician's office, my treatment has been a disaster at their specialty physician's offices from Braselton's neurosurgery, orthopedics, all the way up to their administration offices in Gainseville!! One example; a call to their corporate administrative offices in Gainsville rang 27 times and no one never answered. More common themes....will not transfer your records, return calls, rude pregnant nurse staff, rushed, doctor/nurse poor communication skills, front office desk staff is the only positive thing in this group. Today I went with my son for a follow up visit. The first assistant was super nice and interacted very well. The second assistant had a very nasty attitude. She was short tempered and curt. I believe this to be racially motivated. She did not review his chart before entering the exam room and asked unnecessary questions. She should be terminated from this position. I have worked in the health care field for over 30 years and NEVER have I talked to any of my patients in this manner. I would never go to this facility for any type of treatment. read more

My son works Monday through Friday and ended up stopping in here Saturday because he had a rash that was driving him crazy. The way they coded it to insurance cost me $240! Ridiculous! My other son, that same day, went to a different urgent care in Kennesaw for food poisoning, and it was only $170. It was coded differently. They wouldn't re-file it any different way. This review is in regards to the Braselton location. Understaffed and unorganized. First off they never have appointments available if you are sick. They immediately refer you to the Urgent Care Center downstairs which is also owned by NEGA Physicians Group. Of course the bill is much higher going there so they make more money off of you. I did get an appointment for a medical problem last year and saw a PA. You almost never see a doctor here anymore. She was very thorough and listened well. That's where it all ended. She gave me a prescription for a heart medication and told me to come back in a month. Within 2 weeks I was having side affects. I called and spoke to someone about it who said they would have someone call back. No one did. I called 2 days later and spoke to someone else who assured me someone would call me back. No one called. 2 days later I called again and asked to speak to the office manager. I left her a voice mail message. You guessed it; she never called back. So 2 days after that I just decided to go in ONE WEEK AFTER MY INITIAL CALL. They did see me then and told me to stop taking the prescription which they could have told me over the phone. I asked about what over the counter allergy medication they would recommend for my pollen allergies and they gave me the name of one to buy. I spoke to the office manager while I was there per the PA's recommendation since no one was returning phone calls. The office manager of course denied getting a call from me. And she didn't believe me when I said I had left 2 other messages in addition to hers. She was going to "look into it." That was it. Next thing I know I get a $244 bill in the mail for that appointment. I was charged that much because I was there for 2 health questions. Really? My insurance at the time did not cover pre-existing conditions and wanted the office to send them 5 years of medical records. I had been a patient with them for nearly 10 years at that point but they never sent/refused to send the info to the insurance company so now I am stuck with a $244 bill for an office visit that didn't even need to happen. They could have given me that information over the phone for free! I argued with them for 9 months and they finally removed the bill from my account balance which was then at zero. Thank goodness I thought. Just the other day, 7 months later, out of the blue the $244 bill reappeared on my account balance. I called and basically they told me they were through talking to me about it. Stay away unless you have no problem with; no appointments when you are sick, no return phone calls, outrageous fees because of their screw ups. read more

Went to the Braselton facility for a 'routine' physical. This is covered 100% from insurance. When i received my bill, it showed i owed $128 for an office visit!.. called on this to their main billing phone number, she said that the code indicated that this was NOT a routine Physical, rather a 'NON routine' physical. when asked why? She informed me that i must have 'Asked a question not pertaining to my WELL Health'... Asking her to define this, she could not, and to call the office directly.. so i did... Spoke with the office manager who stated that i had asked a question during the 'routine physical' which then made it into a 'NON Routine' physical and this portion of the 'NEW Office visit' was then 100% billable!!! Not covered by insurance.. I asked her to tell me what 'Question' i had asked, she could not tell me... i told her i was contesting this bill and would not pay it as my insurance has already paid for the 'routine' physical once. The manager took my information to contest the bill and said someone would be intouch.. NOPE... kept getting past due bills, called and explained this every month for 4 months!!... finally i got ahold of the same office manager who 'Offered to split the bill ' !!! Let me tell you, if you offer to reduce the bill, that tells me that you are illegally and immorally charging people!!... Not the end of this type of illegal billing and immoral practice... My wife went to the Cleveland Ga site and the same thing happened to her... this time, the explanation was that she had 'checked a box' on the questionnaire before the exam that she 'needed to speak to the Dr. '... when i questioned the office manager about this, she indicated that by 'checking this box', it took the 'routine' physical to a 'Non routine' physical and thus they charged me ANOTHER Office Visit which was obviously not covered.... Holy crap,, not again!... this one is still ongoing,, contesting this as well for the last 3 months with NO communication back from NEGP group Suggestion: STAY AWAY FROM NORTH EAST GEORGIA PHYSIANS GROUP PRACTICE AT ALL COSTS!! read more

We chose this location because of the convenient location. My husband went in for a simple annual check up and it took them more than a week to get back with the results. We had to go in personally to get the result printed out then and there. I've experienced better service and we will not be returning to this practice anymore. read more

This review pertains to the Dacula location. My husband's experience was as follows: "I saw Dr. Schlossberg on December 12th at the Urgent Care portion of the facility for a recurrence of some dermatitis on my face. He was able to provide some temporary relief by administering a steroid shot. He also suggested a dermatologist. I brought along an almost empty container of a previous prescription of Apexicon E cream (diflorasone diacetate), explaining that this was the only substance that worked when I last had similar symptoms. (The Apexicon had been prescribed for similar symptoms by another doctor in another state.) Dr. Schlossberg said that he would write a new prescription for the Apexicon cream. Unfortunately, I was unable to get this prescription filled, and I believe that potential customers would benefit by knowing why: 1. Reason 1: The Dacula Urgent Care office failed to follow up with requests from my pharmacy. The doctor wrote a prescription for a generic version of Apexicon E cream. (According to Walgreens, no generic exists. Contradictory information can be found on the web.) Walgreens attempted to contact the doctor at the Dacula Urgent Care facility over the course of several days (as far as I'm aware, from December 17th through the 21st) to obtain pre-authorization to use the name brand. (Pre-authorization must be completed by the doctor's office.) Walgreens provided Dacula Urgent Care the contact details necessary to execute the pre-authorization; however, as far as I can tell, the Urgent Care office ignored the requests. I had to contact Walgreens to check the status of my prescription to find out about this situation. Walgreens could not fill the script as written, so I visited the Urgent Care office in person on December 21st, spoke with a nurse, and was assured that the script would be corrected. To be clear, this first reason is to illustrate the fact that the script writing was handled in a one way fashion. My expectation, which I believe to be reasonable, is that Dacula Urgent Care would have responded to Walgreens without my intervention, contacting me if necessary. This did not happen. 2. Reason 2: The doctor wrote a prescription for a drug that required insurance pre-authorization, but he or his office was unable or unwilling to provide such authorization. On December 22nd, the NGPG Auburn group informed me that they do not honor pre-authorization requests for Urgent Care patients. I believe that Dr. Schlossberg believed that a generic Apexicon E cream was available on December 12th, because I don't think he would have knowingly written a prescription for a drug that his office wouldn't have pre-authorizied. When confronted with the fact that the pharmacy was claiming that no generic existed, I would have expected him to either refute that claim and correct the pharmacy (including speaking to the pharmacist), or accept it, making the situation right by performing the pre-authorization for the name brand as an exception to his office's standard policy. The NGPG wasn't willing to budge on the pre-authorization policy, so Dr.Schlossberg wrote a prescription for a generic hydrocortisone cream. I do appreciate his efforts, but I declined the alternative prescription. (As I had explained in my initial visit, the diflorasone diacetate was the only thing that worked.)" read more
