She would smack gum, eat food, and generally had an attitude of not caring. Only until my last class did she run me through a couple of rules but I never really learnt anything under her teaching. It was high pressure and everything I learned was like being tested without knowing there was a test or what the material was on. The only saving grace here is that the people at the office are great, they kindly signed my second permit and gave me another learning certificate for $25 when I lost my first one. I would shop around for a better driving school before settling on this one.

They set up the days and times which worked perfect for his winter break which was that week. I called on a Friday after Christmas then got a lesson for the following Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. It was at 3pm which was good for my son to deal with afternoon traffic driving. Instructor: very communicative via text and phone call. Sometimes he was early, which worked great for us. First lesson: went over rules of road and allowed son to drive with much guidance. Second lesson: more driving for my son and learning to merge or lane change. Third lesson: went to dmv to practice route and what will be tested. Hand on papers were provided to the parent on what to practice.

I would give this zero stars if I could. I wish I got my instructors name but he visibly made me…read morenervous, i was afraid of making any mistake which led me to make more mistakes because if I made a mistake, he would get very passive aggressive talk to me like I was a child. I'm not a fast learner but I was constantly shaky and nervous, but I didn't feel that way when doing lessons with my parents and that says a lot. He would also try to insist me to do more lessons with him and I just wasn't comfortable Any mistake I made, he'd tell me aggressively "why did u do it wrong" or "did you not see that?" Instead, he could've talked it out with me calmly and not tell me things that would make me feel so dumb, so I wouldn't have to feel afraid, maybe I would've done it better the next time. But no I just felt more and more afraid of not being perfect which only set me to do it wrong all over again because being too nervous/anxious can mess you up and having an instructor that isn't so nice doesn't help. I would come home crying and mentally beating myself up for not being perfect. It was the tone and the body language as well, as an instructor, it's one thing to teach someone and explain, but it's the way you deliver it that matters. I shouldn't have to feel dumb, nor on the verge of crying. I'm sharing this review for my HONEST experience, thank you.

After trying to reach her through several calls and texts, I decided to look for the appointment on the DMV website myself. I found the appointment time but at this point, she was double booked and couldn't be there for the drive test and couldn't attend the driving test. I highly recommend Micaela to anyone looking for a driving instructor!…read more When I started taking lessons with her, I was basically returning to driving after a 20-year break -- and on top of that, I had to learn how to drive confidently and safely in the U.S. Micaela made the whole process so much easier than I expected. She is incredibly patient, calm, supportive, and very easy to feel comfortable with. She explained things in a way that finally made sense to me and taught me skills that other instructors had not been able to teach me. Parallel parking is a perfect example -- Micaela showed me a simple technique, and in a surprisingly short time, I was able to do it confidently on my own. Another huge advantage is that Micaela speaks Russian in addition to English and Spanish. For Russian-speaking students who are new to driving in the U.S., this can be especially helpful. It didn't take us long to get me comfortable behind the wheel and prepared for driving in America after such a long break.
