Great last stop before Baxter State Park. Hot food, snacks, supplies, clothing. Lots of knick knacks.

I stopped in to the store the other day, and saw the recent renovations and new addition that they…read morerecently completed. What used to be an excellent, little general store with loads of useful items and a decent assortment of available food from the grill, has been transformed in to a hipster hangout restaurant. You can no longer get a quick cheeseburger and other accoutrements, but rather you have to sit down and order as though you were in a civilized part of the world. Looking for a cup of coffee? They don't even offer that anymore. This review may sound odd, but if you've ever spent time in the North Maine Woods, trendy dining is not what you're looking for. People don't go there to spend an hour and a half testing the latest chic ale and chef's whims. They simply want to grab a bit of food, some beer, and a few other necessities, and hit the road or get back to their campsite. I don't see outdoorsmen and snowmobilers spending much time there, so I don't think the business will thrive.

Came here for the first time during our annual trip to Baxter State Park. The road to get here is…read morequite longer than I expected and very bumpy so be aware. It's a nice little convenience store with most thing you will need and some extras, they also have a alcoholic beverages here in six packs and singles which was awesome when we ran out of our supply. There is also a little restaurant attached to the store but I didn't explore that area. The only thing is that items are expensive. I bought a loaf of sandwich bread and it was like $4 or $5 which is highway robbery for bread! It was a convenient area though and we were able to refill our water jugs in the campground around back which was helpful. We had good service and got what we needed but 4 stars because everything is so expensive.
