You will be told no one is available to evaluate them and your loved one may be forced to be bed ridden and diapered if no one is there to speak for them. The nurses did not even check to see if she was oriented. When the floor manager came in that evening she assessed her and most importantly spoke to her like a person and then called in the nurses and assistants to read them the riot act. My mom had knee surgery and was just there for PT. They would move her and touch her bandaged leg and had no clue why she was there. There was no communication between the shifts. She put her in a diaper despite her protests, they didn't want to get her a chair to go to the bathroom and told her she'd have to go in the diaper. This was before I got there. The bathroom was badly ventilated, between two rooms so it always felt like someone had showered recently, it only had a toilet. The food was disgusting, prefrozen meats that looked like the muscle had burst from improper storage, skinned mash potatoes that felt like hardened chunks that had been left uncovered, cold and bad coffee and what was surely jello that had been to watered to prevent becoming solid with ice cubes in it. On top of that the plastic covers for the food smelled like standing water. We brought her food and fruit every day. There is no where for family to sit. They did not bathe her even though she arrived in hospital robes. They spoke AT her. My husband noticed another woman who seemed to have been wearing the same thing all weekend. On a Sunday morning they told my mom when she was alone that her knee extension machine was broken and they would have to wait til PT came in on Monday before she could have her treatments. We showed up and asked the nurse on that shift to turn it on. She walked in and set it up. It was never broken, they had just taken it apart and said it was broken. My mother was upset and felt so unsafe. She had been uncomfortable not being at home when she arrived but her fear and anxiety became palpable. The insurance company and hospital were appalled by her treatment and worked with us to get her out of there as soon as possible but they needed the in house doctor to ok the transfer. They lied to my husband about when the doctor was available and nothing happened until the evening before she left. We made sure she left the next day by noon. This is a nightmare. Do not leave your family here. Do not leave your enemies here.

I stayed here for a while in 2018 after spending months at Orlando Regional Medical Center,…read morefollowing complications from surgery. I will ask Yelp to update the name of this facility. I suspect Westminster Care is the name of their parent organization as this facility is called Delaney Park Health and Rehabilitation Center. While I was there a major construction refurbish was ongoing. Among the upgrades was the addition of two large therapy rooms. I see them on their website and they look terrific. Unfortunately, they were restricted to using a former patient double room during my stay. It wasn't ideal, but they made it work by scheduling patients at staggered times. The therapists, both Physical and Occupational, were all great. Not just in planning and carrying out my rehab plan, but in their flexibility as well. I required wound care at that time, with an open wound that often seeped through the dressings and leaked. If that problem caused me to not be able to leave my room at my scheduled therapy time, they would let me come down as soon as I was able, or on days when I was room-bound they would come to my room and work with me on bed exercises. I can't say enough about the therapists, and now they have their long-awaited new therapy rooms. As for the skilled nursing side of the equation, you have a range of skills and attitudes, as with any medical facility, either hospital or post-hospital care. Andrea, the Director of Nursing, and Amy, whose title I forget now, were both wonderful, skilled and caring. And Andrea can sing! I knew I could call on either of them if I had a problem that needed more attention than from a nurse or medical tech. As for the nurses and techs, that is where the usual range of skills and attentiveness come in. There seems to be a natural drop off between the day and overnight shifts. Then again, there is a lot more foot traffic overall during the day, what with visitors and active patients, so it follows that there are fewer bodies to get things done. I was in a double room, which was an adjustment after the private rooms at ORMC. Especially since my roommate was a rather unpleasant long term resident, over 90 years old, who swore a lot and was vile to the nurses, before periodically turning sweet after his temper explosions. He not only always kept the curtain closed between us but also kept the window shades closed, so I never got to see the outside. More motivation to wheelchair myself outdoors, I suppose. Normally the double rooms are not such an issue, I imagine. I just drew the short straw. The food was fine, though they offered two main choices and it seems I didn't get to choose my selection most times, unless I checked out the menu a day ahead and wheeled down and knocked at the kitchen door. Mostly I didn't bother. There was a nice outdoor lounge area with bird feeders nearby. But the construction limited the view, and the smoking area sometimes made it harder to enjoy as I was limited at how far away I could sit from them. So while the wound care could have been more consistent, overall I think this is a facility that really tries. It is part of a non-profit organization, and that can't be easy from a budget standpoint. I stayed briefly in a different rehab facility before this one, until an emergency sent me back to ORMC, and I must say that Delaney Park rates higher for me.

I immediately took him out and did not let him stay another day, I complained and they told me they were looking into it and never called to give me any updates. If you don't believe me then walk in unannounced and then ask your loved ones what they really think of this place. Take care of your family at home, don't leave them with someone who doesn't know or care about them. Horrible, horrible place.

The care and concern that all staff members have for the residents is in comparable. This is a small facility, 40 beds, but the staff was very adequate. The building was spotless and odorless. Each resident had their own TV, the rooms were large, beds modern and comfortable. Large closet, two dressers, plenty of wall space to hang pictures. Excellent social director, and therapy staff, who knew and were concerned about all the residents. I was lucky to get my Mother in this facility.

They could have done what they should have from the beginning and it wouldn't have reached me asking for this. Every nurse or medical person I spoke to outside of the facility spoke very ill of this place and were shocked that the place was still open.
