I missed my next appointment because I was given a tour and immediately knew this was the right place for my mom. The community is small, warm, and easy to navigate -- it feels like a home, not an institution. I love the intimate dining rooms and the individual living areas for each hall. Shan'a and her assistant Aixa are fantastic about keeping in touch and are always easy to reach for even minor questions. The nurses call with any updates or changes, which gives me so much peace of mind. I had been my mom's caregiver in my home, so I know firsthand how hard this job is. Arden Courts has a terrific management team and caregivers who truly care. Many of them have been there a long time -- Bernice, Jaquice, Gigi, and Kate have all given my mom so much attention and affection. My mom no longer speaks and mostly communicates with a smile, but every caregiver still stops to greet her and often gives her a hug. She's also a fall risk and likes to get up at night so she doesn't "miss anything" -- she has always been this way. The evening shift lets her stay with them in the dining room while they finish their tasks, then they tuck her into bed when she starts getting sleepy. That kind of flexibility and compassion is rare, and it means a great deal to me. Before Arden Courts, she lived in an assisted living community with her husband and complained about the food constantly. Now she enjoys her meals and the special activities the staff plans. About once a month, they host a family event, which is such a thoughtful way to bring everyone together. My daughter says it feels like a sorority house -- and honestly, I love that image. Arden Courts has been a blessing, and I'm so grateful for the care and warmth they've shown my mom.

They even managed to get him to participate in activities, when at first he was not fond of. But they kept inviting him, and they never gave up. They found meds that helped calm his agitation, and that made us all so happy! Everyone on staff has been awesome, and they communicate often, which was so helpful. I was at ease when I knew my dad was being so well taken care of. The facility is spacious, clean and "homey". My dad loved to walk, they have a large outside walking court, which he used often. I am so thankful for Arden Courts!!!

Positives: Food quality, friendliness of some staff, cleanliness of facility, PT team w/ Legacy, apartment is large enough, visits from PA, Podiatrist, Salon/Nail Tech, ability to have meals sent to room, shower/dress assistance. laundry assistance, trash removed from apt daily. Parent is generally pleased with living here. Though administration is friendly, there seems to be a lot of management issues. Negatives: Inconsistent communications and follow up. My husband and I still feel like full-time care workers for our parent because of the amount of challenges we are running into and having to follow up on to include: - Communication - the facility states they are willing to communicate with POA for parent, yet they are inconsistent in replying to emails and phone calls. When you stop in to visit and speak with the Director or Head Nurse, often a commitment is verbally made but not followed through. - Inaccurate billing - monthly issues in tune of 100s of dollars. If residents are handling their own billing, I would highly recommend they review with fine tooth comb or have a POA assist. - Medication management - for a parent with special timing needs for medication (and explicitly provided and explained upon arrival to facility and many times since) medication timing has been wholly inconsistent. (NOTE: Just when we think processes are leveling off, something happens and a medication is not given at appropriate time or given separately from other meds) - Dining room service very slow and some could use customer service training, which is my background (Jessica, Kim, and Marisol wonderful) - Security - not as secure as I would prefer Bottom line: rated 2 star as descriptive lists "Could be better" - especially based on the sales pitch we received upon arrival/booking. Something to consider if you want to move a parent to Assisted Living.

My family was so lucky to have found Pat's Serenity Home Care!…read more My 85 year old mom had dementia, was falling down a lot, and became too much for my dad to handle. We first met Pat and Michael on their wedding anniversary and they canceled their plans to take my mom in their lovely home the same day. They provided snacks and healthy home cooked meals, activities to help keep my mom and other residents engaged, and top notch care around the clock. Pat & Michael rented a van over Christmas and took my mom out to see the pretty lights. They celebrated her birthday with flowers, presents and decorated their house. During a hurricane warning, they invited my dad to come stay with them. My family and I were always welcome to visit and stay however long we wanted. They regularly sent us pictures and texts to let us know how my mom was doing, which was really sweet. Being in a private, loving home is so much more welcoming than a sterile facility. Towards the end of my moms life, Pat was feeding my mom every meal and trying to keep her as comfortable as possible. They treated my mom and family with kindness and respect, and we are forever grateful. I can't say enough great things about Pat's Serenity Home Care. I highly recommend the family as they take excellent care of your loved ones!

Painting needed Several staff were compassionate ( and saved the day for Mgt) however many were not ( on their phones). Memory Care quality very lacking as if a patient is incontinent, unless you're there and push the staff to toilet/change them, they sit there or lie in their bed for hours. Don't expect them to help getting their teeth brushed either. Long story but you're lucky if they get it done. UNLESS you push the issue. Food mediocre at best. Activity provided but if a patient is unable to participate no effort to help or get them engaged. Staff to patient ratio very low. This area had about 20 patients and no more than two staff so if one was busy with meds or changing a patient, the other was responsible for everything else like entering or exiting visitor due to the lockdown policy. Forget the positive online reviews and if you tour, ask other visitors their thoughts. Maybe AL is satisfactory but MC is way below expectations.
