I/we found Excellence senior living facility a little over 2yrs ago. Our discussion was between Excellence & another facility, however Derick Waines the Marketing Director left a valuable impression. We had several family issues going on at the time and I will always be thankful that God put him in our path. Derick, didn't treat us as money he treated us like family. So obviously we choose Excellence. Then came Jasmine Miller the Res. Care Director, she is exceptional, Jasmine I want you to know that you are an integral part of the healthcare team. Without you, Excellence wouldn't survive. Thank you for everything you have done. You and your team have played an essential role in the well-being of our father/uncle. providing a compassionate approach to our father/uncle's treatment, Your bedside manor and the ability to gently handle him has made a significant difference in our lives. The care, compassion, kindness and empathy shown to our family, to our father/uncle's well-being is something we are extremely thankful for. We toured several facilities before deciding on Excellence. Our 94 year old father, Pablo, did not want to go and would insist that he could take care of himself. After expressing our concerns to Jasmine, she made sure that he had a "welcoming committee" of Spanish speaking residents waiting for him so he could feel comfortable. He can only speak Spanish. We were worried that he would not fit in or be able to communicate with others. I am delighted to say, that everyone has been very friendly and kind to him and us. The staff is so warm and caring! They always have a smile, address him by his name and have a friendly greeting ready for him. The director, Gustavo "Gus" has been very nice and accommodating. The Nurse's Director Jasmine, has been incredible! She has taken the time to make sure that my father is getting the care that he needs, shown compassion, dedication and is very receptive upon contact. She is definitely a problem solver with common sense, driven by a kind heart. I am certain that this is the right place for him. It is his HOME now. My wife & I are performers & we travel between countless senior living communities. Hands down, the staff at Excellence is far and above many other locations. When we perform our music, the memory care nurses get the residents up & moving and they are involved with us throughout the entire show. I am the former Director of Nursing of this facility, during my time there the staff was exceptional, Jasmine is the glue that holds the building together making sure medications and scheduling are in order, Roslyn , Madiha, Sabine, and Bryanna are always willing to fill in to make sure the residents are taken care of. On the upper end is where the problems lay, Kelly the ED is the most insensitive person I have ever dealt with I recently experienced the death of my son, this woman showed absolutely no compassion, she actually text me to ask when I was coming back to work 2 days after I found out about my sons death, she told the owner that i was not responded to any phone calls when in actuality I spoke with her several times during my time of grief. I can honestly say that it was hurtful to have worked side by side with her for months and be treated like I never mattered. If you are looking for a facility where the staff will show your loved one compassion and provide excellent care this is the place, BUT if you expect that same sentiment from the Executive Director you will be disappointed. read more

We were so very hopeful that this facility would be a great fit for my mom. The tour was impressive. They interviewed my mom to determine what level of care she would require. She has very limited vision and poor mobility. She has a horrible outbreak of shingles. Needs help getting from place to place but otherwise can take care of her own personal needs. She is also a smoker. We were assured that with the press of a button someone would tend to her needs. They have housekeeping and would also be managing her medication. We moved her in on a Friday and by Saturday it as going downhill very quickly. They are extremely short staffed leaving staff spread too thin to give even a third of the care we were promised.They were always late with her medication. My poor mom has a lot of pain and there were always issues getting her pain meds and many other residents were having fits for their meds as well. They rarely answer her rings to have help to go to the bathroom leaving her to have multiple accidents. Every time I came for a visit there was a mess in her room. Their Covid protocol was all over the place. It changed from testing every day to once a week but staff was unsure about current procedure so clearly the communication from leadership was a failure. I was comforted by a conversation with the director that I thought all would be fixed only to have issues the very next day. The very worst part was my mom struggling with her wheelchair in the hallway and asking for help. The CNA told her,"no I can't help you. This is assisted living. I won't do it for you." Also, she fell when I was there and there wasn't a single person on the third floor to help her. This is not how you want to see your parent cared for. It's not dignified. I prayed so hard this place would give us peace of mind but it was a nightmare. We were there for exactly 9 days and at a loss of over $3000. If you have a loved one that needs care do not bring them here. Here is a picture of her room on one of my visits. She had an accident in her bed because they wouldn't come and left her without changing the sheets. She's laying on a bed with no sheets. Infuriating. Look at the mess. A freaking banana peel! My mom has such limited mobility. She can't get up without help much less clean up after herself. What a nightmare. read more
