From the moment we walked in, the vibe hit -- rich colors, vintage decor, great music, and an atmosphere that feels both intimate and creatively alive. Roxy herself greeted us right at the door, and that personal touch set the tone for the entire visit. The menu has great range and something for everyone. I ordered one of the 'Roxy' cocktails and a cappuccino (hey, it's called BALANCE! ) , and both were genuinely delicious -- handcrafted and thoughtfully made. For food, we went with the 'Farm-Flat' (aka Eloté) flatbread and a turkey pesto sandwich, and they were amazing. Presentation was beautiful, the flavors were on point, and the portions were so generous that we walked out with leftover flatbread (fair warning -- come hungry or plan to take some home). What really elevated the experience was the hospitality. Our food came out quickly, the staff was warm and attentive, and Roxy took the time to chat with us about local events and what makes Vevay such a special place to visit and live. What a gem of a human. You can tell this isn't just a business to her -- it's a love letter to the town. We can't wait to come back. If you're anywhere near Vevay, Roxy's is a can't-miss stop. This was my first time in Roxy's and it was a Saturday at about 1:30. This particular Saturday the Kat Von D black tulip field down the street was nearing the end of its life. This town was bustling with people. I walked into Roxy's and stood in the doorway not quite knowing what to do, do you wait for someone to greet you here? Still not sure about that but finally I saw a couple seats at a high top next to the bar and I walked over and sat down. The inside of the restaurant was full and the outdoor patio was filling up as well. I was right next to the bar so the bartender was right behind me and waitresses were right behind me constantly. It still took almost 20 minutes just to get a menu, as a matter of fact we did not get a menu until the waitress came over to take our order and we said we do not have a menu. My girlfriend and I decided on a flatbread to split and some truffle fries to split. We ordered our cocktails, she had The Roxy and I ordered the Carajillo. We went to order when she brought our cocktails back and she said, "Oh, I forgot to tell you, we cannot do flatbreads because the dough is not ready and we are out of the soup." So we did not want her to get away so we quickly decided on something else. My friend ordered a roast beef sandwich and I stuck with the truffle fries. The place is cute on the inside and it was clean. We received our food and the food was enjoyable, my fries were hot and crisp with a lovely lemon aioli on the side for dipping and my friend said her sandwich was good. It was a really good thing we were not in a big hurry. We will be making more trips to Vevay as very soon Kat Von D is opening a new clothing shop and we want to go to see it. We may return to give Roxy's another try when the staff is not completely overwhelmed.

On Saturday, that means after 0830. I wanted a shower and had never used one here. The cashier rang up $10 and handed me a towel, small soap, shampoo and whatever was in the other packet. As it turned out, I ended up using my own travel supplies. Walk down the darkened hallway, past the men's room, past the women's room, past all of the cases and cases of soft drinks, and there you will find the door to the shower. I flipped on the light and was not impressed. But I stayed anyway. I took a few pictures and then proceeded to the shower. There was good water pressure and the temperature was good. In fact as an example, a fifth of peach schnapps was $5 less in this store as opposed to the 3 Madison liquor stores, and that was the exact same brand and size. I was looking for something specific and she offered to order it for me, unfortunately I don't live in the area but I thought the gesture was amazing. Although the place is a business, visitors are made to feel like family. Elaine (I think that was her name) detailed their wine-making process as she took us on the tour. We were impressed that they do EVERYTHING to recycle and have a positive impact on the environment. It was a great experience visiting this winery Their wines were flavorful and reasonably- priced. The owners live on the property and are originally from Europe. They decided to start making their own wine here in this region as the climate was something they were used to, and they were good at it. They have won some prestigious awards as you can see on display in the tasting room. All bottles are: $15 Full tasting: $6 Half tasting: $3 We went on a cold day, but the patio overlooking the property is certainly ideal for a sunny Saturday afternoon. Also on this property: farm animals. Including lama's, sheep, sheep dogs etc. It kind of caught us off guard at first, but was fun to see. Worth stopping in!

At the time, I thought my only options for early morning coffee were McDonald's. I'm so glad I found this Coffee spot, as they have a great selection of drip coffees, Latte, espresso-based drinks, locally made pastries, sandwiches, and other items. The staff are always friendly and attentive and they make our drinks as fast as they can. There are always at least two people working behind the counter whenever I go there for coffee. If you are in the Carrollton area, this is the best place around for coffee. They now open even earlier in the morning.

The hostess explained that the kitchen was backed up and she couldn't seat them. Said woman loudly insisted that they 'only wanted to sit and they wouldn't be ordering anything'. A manager came out and the old woman tried to establish that a relationship existed with her and the owner. She insisted again that they be seated. They were, and immediately got wine, silverware and menus. All of this in front of us, the party that was standing waiting. At that point we said we were next on the list, but since they had not only been seated, but served before us we would leave without eating and without buying the plants we'd come to purchase. The kicker is that there were MANY seating choices outside in the shade that these people should have been directed to rather than being seated in front of us. And we left - never to return. We didn't even get an "I'm sorry." Addendum, all was not lost. We drove to a new-to-us restaurant in Seymour IN, and had great service and great food for much less than this would have cost! Mom & I made our annual trip up to Stream Cliff to get flowers for her garden as well as a little…read morelunch. We went on a Saturday around noon. There were a few parking spaces open and we were able to get one. The resturant seemed pretty busy so we decided to go flower shopping before we ate lunch. We were able to find all the flowers we wanted (even some we didn't know we needed). Within 30minutes the crowd had cleared from the restaurant and we were able to sit down on the porch out front. Our waitress was friendly and tentative. We ordered their fresh ginger lemonade which was so refreshing. We also ordered the trio plate with 1 bird seed salad, 1 potato salad, and 1 chicken salad. The bird seed was my favorite! The restrooms were clean and spacious. The property itself is so beautiful. It is a great place to relax and enjoy sometime outside!
