This is, without a doubt, the worst-run doctor's office we've ever experienced. The front desk…read morestaff is consistently rude and seems unhappy to be there. They don't even know which insurance plans they accept--every one of our claims was incorrectly filed as out-of-network when they were actually in-network. Fixing this has been a major hassle, and despite multiple messages asking for the billing manager to call us back, no one has returned our calls. Instead, we were told that the doctor's wife handles billing, but no one knows when she comes in. We are now receiving final bill notices, yet the office has locked us out of the patient portal due to non-payment, making it impossible to access our records or communicate through that system. When my wife asked how she could reach her doctor or someone who could help, she was told to use the portal--the very one we had been locked out of. All we are trying to do is get them to resubmit these claims correctly as in-network so we can pay the bill and move on. That's it. And yet, we're met with roadblock after roadblock. To top it off, they advertise themselves as a concierge practice, which is laughable. Concierge medicine is supposed to provide premium care, personalized attention, and easy access to the physician and staff. Here, they don't even answer the phone over lunch. Why not stagger lunch breaks like any other service-oriented business instead of shutting down entirely? The final straw was when my wife--who is battling stage 4 cancer--called for the third time to resolve this, only to be scolded for trying to fix a 2024 billing issue in 2025. Unfortunately, we had more pressing matters last year. We're done. As soon as this gets resolved, we'll be finding a new doctor. If you're considering this practice, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Exceptional care and life changing results at the Northbrook ENT and Audiology team…read more My godmother, "Flo", turned 95 this year. At her birthday party she smiled from ear to ear because she could hear us sing Happy Birthday to her, something she had not been able to enjoy. That moment was made possible by the ENT and audiology team at Endeavor Health NorthShore's Northbrook location at 501 Skokie Boulevard. A little over a year ago, Flo lost all hearing in her only good ear. She could hear sound but could not make out words. She became withdrawn and depressed and lost more than 30 pounds. She stopped going to her church women's club and barely engaged with friends and family. Her world went silent. We began with Dr. Janet Han at the Swedish Hospital location in Chicago. She tried a hearing aid plan with several fittings and a loaner. When that did not help, we met in Northbrook with Dr. David D. Walker and his team, Dr. Samantha Schneider and Dr. Margaret Molloy, to talk about a cochlear implant. With guidance from Flo's geriatrician, Dr. Erica Hutz, I chose to move forward knowing there was only a fifty fifty chance it would help, because any improvement could change her quality of life. From the first appointment, this team was kind, patient, and clear. They explained every step in plain language, returned calls quickly, and coordinated scheduling so travel and visits were manageable. They spoke to Flo in a way she could follow and made her feel included in her own care. They treated me as a partner in every decision. Over the next year I attended every follow up and adjustment. There were hard days when we wondered if we made the right choice, but the team's encouragement and skill kept us going. The changes have been remarkable. Flo gained back 30 pounds, returned to her women's club, attends the senior monthly meetings at the police station, watches television again, and starts conversations with friends and caregivers. She laughs, connects, and participates in life again. If you are considering a cochlear implant or need ENT care, I highly recommend this team. Thank you to Dr. Janet Han, Au.D., Dr. Samantha Schneider, Au.D., Dr. Margaret Molloy, Au.D., Dr. David D. Walker, MD, and Dr. Erica Hutz, MD. You gave Flo back her independence, her joy, and her will to live. We are grateful beyond words.

And of course it was a Saturday when my eye doctor was closed. I looked for the closest urgent care and came across endeavor. I stopped in at 1155am and they told me to come back at 130pm since they were getting ready to take lunch. They said I'd be seen right away. At 130 I went back and the waiting room was full with people waiting to be seen including a friend who had taken her grandma there for back issues. Due to the amount of people I had to wait a little longer than I expected (about 20 min in the waiting room and then another 15-30 min for the dr). The dr herself was so friendly and got right on it. I wish I remembered her name! She confirmed there was nothing in my eye but then used a special light and said she did see a small scratch. She prescribed an antibiotic which I started about an hour later and said I should feel better within 48 hours. I was super comfortable all evening - amazing what a little scratch can feel like. However I woke up feeling so much better and am so happy I went to endeavor. I'll definitely come back here in the future. They also see kids so I'll keep that in mind also.

On my way into the appointment, I received a text message that my ANNUAL PHYSICAL would be move to a TELEHEALTH appointment. How a doctor can give you a physical over the telephone without checking your heart, blood pressure, weight etc. is beyond me. When I called for more information about my appointment, as I was not aware if I was to receive a call or a video link and it was to start at 8am - I received attitude over the phone about the doctor "having an hour to call me." I explained that I did NOT originally schedule a telehealth visit so I was confused to the process. I was told that I would get a call from an "Unknown Number" within the hour to administer my physical. (???) I then received a phone call an hour later that was the "pre-screen/intake" call asking about my insurance information. I asked them if I would be charged to my insurance as an annual physical because this is just going to be a telephone call, they said "Yes, as the doctor can just order your tests and you can come in on your own time." I was told again I'd have the doctor call me imminently. Fast forward TWO hours when I call THEM to figure out what was going on. As my appointment was now scheduled three hours in the past and I didn't have anyone call me. From there I was told there are "notes in for the Dr. to call," and they "may need to reschedule." The next appointment is in April. When I said it's not acceptable for me to have my annual physical 7 months late and that I have been more than accommodating as I was physically ON MY WAY TO THE OFFICE in the morning and now I can't get a phone call back. From there I was told that a nurse "could" call me this afternoon to approve the necessary tests associated for a physical. I am STILL awaiting a call. HOW IS THIS THE STATE OF HEALTHCARE IN CHICAGO AND NORTHWESTERN IN 2023? It's unprofessional, rude and unacceptable. No one at that office would dare accept this as their standard of health care and it's poor service all around. UPDATE HERE: It's a day after and I've received NO CALL from a doctor - they essentially canceled my appointment and never got back to me ... but DID make sure to send me a "visit summary." My wonderful internist retired a few months back. I have since seen Dr. Peterson at Covenant, and while I respect her as clinician, I cannot be more disappointed in her staff, particularly her billing person. I was billed for a service that I did not receive during a visit. When I called to discuss this, the biller was utterly disrespectful, rude, and demeaning. She shouted at me, would not let me get a word in, and when I tried to speak, she repeatedly cut me off by saying "LET ME FINISH". I have never been treated like this by anyone, and the call left me in tears. When I spoke with Dr. Peterson about it, her response was equally disappointing. She didn't apologize even once for the treatment I received, but instead insisted (without evidence) that she provided the service I was questioning. This week, I got another bill for the same service. When I called the office, the same biller responded in the same aggressive manner. She did not want to listen to me at all, and right away she interrupted me with "LET ME FINISH". Instead of receiving listening to my issue, she shut me off and said "I will tell the doctor that you are refusing to pay." Needless to say, I will not be returning to this group for my care. I happen to be in the healthcare field myself and oversee operations of 10 clinics. If any clinic staff ever spoke to our patients in this manner, they would be immediately released. Clinic culture is established from the top. These clinicians are too busy making money to care about respect for their patients.
