If there's something I want that they don't have, chances are that their interlibrary loan can send it within a few days. The CD, DVD, video game and "thing" collection is great. We've utilized the zoo pass. I brought my toddler to story time reading, but the reader shouted for various characters' parts and it scared her. Maybe we'll try again another season. While they have a fair amount of meetings and activities, I wish they had more. I've been a bit spoiled enjoying some of Franklin Public Library creative programming.

There's also a good selection of books on CD for car trips and all sorts of other media formats but it's also a comfortable place to get some work or day dreaming done. If their dedicated parking lot fills up it's still easy to park within walking distance but the location is easy for Southsiders to bike to and its well served by public bus. Architecturally it's an interesting round 1960s era building, and of course libraries make one a more well rounded individual.

It was renamed in 1984 to honor the late Congressman Clement J. Zablocki who represented the area in the United States House of Representatives for more than three decades from 1948 to 1983. It's always been very a heavily used resource in the Jackson Park neighborhood, as there are several schools within walking distance. For a small neighborhood library, this one kicks ass. I studied here all thru my Junior High School and High School years, and my parents still go here every week to load up on library books, DVDs and CDs (they are frugal, you know). They have reading groups here for kids and a great collection of periodicals. I fed my reading obsession here - that I still possess, growing up. The building itself is interesting. It's a round building, built around a center round courtyard. Very modernist, and an unusual structure for the south side of Milwaukee.

They have the best social media presence and very educated staff. The process to get our library cards was so simple and everything we needed was found online ahead of time, so we were very prepared. Plus we got free stickers with our membership cards! Everything was so accessible and in a peaceful environment. For a smaller building it feels very spacious with distinct areas for quiet and privacy. Study areas, computers, and a printing station - all quality equipment and easy to use. While it may have a smaller inventory they still offer an incredible variety and you can always request a transfer. There's a decent amount of parking behind the building in addition to a 15 minute zone just to the side where the book drop is. I absolutely love returning to this location, and I'm so grateful for the love and support shown to the community here.

The rooms are especially helpful on the rather busy days when the library isn't always so quiet. The children's area is great! There's always crafts to do and mini scavenger hunts that get changed about twice a month. Also seasonal reading challenges that get kids excited to read and win prizes. They also have legos, a train set, and a play grocery store. It's definitely worth a visit for any ages!
