I've probably been here way more times than I've checked in. Do I enjoy coming here? Of course just as much as any B&N. Same books, same Starbucks counter, same friendly staff and discount book section. What's not to love - wrap me in paper books for life! This is a better retreat for coffee than some other spots nearby which don't have near enough seating. Here I can grab a latte and sit or walk around and browse. Can't beat that. I'll be back for more books when I finish the ones I have. read more

Barnes & Noble is the best! The smells, the books, the cafe, the quiet calm. You don't even have to spend money to enjoy the cozy vibes...but you're going to want to. Very kind service (even if the cafe might be understaffed - just be patient!) Such a great store. read more

Starbucks dudes have no clue in make Specialty coffee. To damn busy talking like they were dating or something. Black guy with braids pass his waistline made me a creme brulee latte that doesn't taste like a creme brulee latte. I watched the way he made it, I wanted a refund already.. hands me the drink, I asked "do you not add the caramel sprinkles anymore", replies oh I forgot, opens the latte pours in the caramel sprinkles. I HAD TO TELL HIM THATS ENOUGH. WTF is going with some of these Starbucks employees. I can't call them baristas because they are not. They belong at a popcorn stand at the ZOO. Don't y'all dare ask for tips if this is how you make a $7 premium latte. read more

I have always had great experiences with this store. This is a great place for not just books but for everyday finishing touches and gifts as well. They always have a great selection of items for anyone of any age. I also love how you can grab a Starbucks coffee and snack and sit while you enjoy your purchases or just take in the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The upper level offers a great area for kids, including a tabletop train set to play on (which I've taken advantage of on cold winter days). This is a great spot to wander around and get lost in on any given day. read more

It's a book lover's heaven. Store is full of books of all kinds of books . It's always organized and clean all the time . Environment here is always peaceful . There are a few quiet corners where you can sit and enjoy a book . There's also Starbucks inside the store. read more

Poor service. They hire incredibly incompetent and immature staff. They interrupt customers who are trying to provide feedback and accuse them of "yelling at you." I was talking loudly because there was a plexiglass screen separating us. And I also having hearing issues. But the children that work there are too concerned about their feelings and not the concerns of their customers. I used to go out of my way to make purchases there instead of Amazon to support a local business. But it's now clear to me that they do not deserve my business. I will celebrate when they close, which should be very soon. read more

Disappointing experience at a typically decent bookstore. I reserved a book online for pickup at this location; their website promises that it will be ready in 60 minutes. The email came more than two hours after making the reservation. No biggie, I wasn't pacing the store waiting for it. I'm not crazy about the failure to meet the expectation that I did not even set, but again, was ok with the delay. Thirty minutes after receiving the email notification I went to the store to purchase the book, but it wasn't at the register. The cashier sent me over to Customer Service to grab it and then come back and wait in line again. I paused, waiting for her to suggest she go grab it as this running around was defeating the purpose of online reservation and I was following the directions they set, but she apparently had used up her customer service points for the day and I was on my own. I got out of line and then had to wait several minutes for someone to come to Customer Service. Once they did, they did have my book and then I went back to where I started. The cashier said to me, "You must have been too fast for us." I replied that the email came to me 40 minutes ago. She then admitted that they were very short-staffed. While I get that and can certainly relate, that isn't my issue and also really should not be something that you need to tell me when a simple apology would have gone further and been more professional. The transaction ended with the cashier trying to give me my one-time use coupon back. I declined, as it is for a single use. She insisted I take it, saying I could use it again. That's not been my experience in the past and the coupon ended today; if this was her attempt at apologizing for the poor experience, it was unsuccessful. I totally understand why Barnes & Noble is struggling, given today's experience. read more

Bookstores intimidate me, but the new manager Adam was absolutely amazing. He was extremely helpful, friendly, and down to earth. Honestly 10/10 would take a bullet for the man after only knowing him for less than an hour while he ran around the entire store searching for a book for me. What an absolute king. I've been here so much but haven't checked in but that 1 time honestly. What not to like about Barnes & Noble and I like buying their book marker and yes I still use book markers or paper back books. Because there are some books you just cant read on a Kindle or Ipad you need to flip the pages, every time ive been here looking for a book the staff has always been helpful. read more

Waited at least 15 minutes in front of the Nook counter. Was going to buy a new Nook because mine is no longer holding a charge. While I waited I was able to find a solution to try online, so I left. No one ever acknowledged my presence even though I was clearly shopping the Nooks. Too bad. I won't bother to come back. read more

I come to this Barnes and Noble location at least once a week for some much-needed book therapy. This location is two stories which means more room for more books! At the front of the store, their new fiction/nonfiction is always stocked and is very aesthetically pleasing in the way it is organized. They also have multiple tables set out with spotlight books and themed tables, that are once again, always fully stocked. The staff here are friendly, but it can sometimes take a while to get their attention, and there usually isn't someone at the customer service desk. I haven't tried this location's cafe, but I have had B&N Starbucks before and I suspect this isn't much different. There are a decent amount of tables in the cafe if you want to sit down or preview a book. I do wish there were more chairs throughout the store instead of just the ones in the back of the upper floor. I have also pre-ordered from this location before. They were helpful during the process. A couple of days after, I hadn't heard anything about the book, so I called them and they said they had just got it in. While I can say for sure, I'm sure they would have called me promptly if I hadn't called first. 8/10, while this store could make some improvements, it is overall a great place to shop and one of my favorite places to spend my spare time. read more

This store is every readers dream! You just walk in and there are books as far as the eye can see! It's very well organized too, I can do a thorough snake through the store and feel like I've seen everything. And they serve Starbucks coffee?! :) This is my location whenever I need new books, and I love getting their coupons and new boo release emails. :) The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because their DVD's are grossly overpriced, and I mean GROSSLY, like at least $5-$15 more than Best Buy. But that's such a minute point, I mean, they're a bookstore at heart. :) read more

B&N are B&N no matter where you go - the only difference is the quality of staff and customer service. This location has been constantly a great example of the B&N model. The store is clean, well laid out, and the staff are very friendly. I alway enjoy stopping in when I stop at Bayshore. read more

Today I went to this Barnes and Noble, and unfortunately had to listen to two members of their staff speak horrible of a mother and her children. The mother and children were African American and the two staff members were Caucasian, one older, and one younger. The mother and her children were simply shopping and exploring in the store. All of the patrons inside were doing the same, shopping, exploring, picking up items, and then placing them back. The two staff members had a problem with the mother and children doing these things though. I overheard the staff members speak with such disdain and the children and their mother. "Just look at them touching everything," etc. I was so disgusted by their tone and hearing them pick apart children! I will never go to this location again. read more

No matter what else may bring me to Bayshore, you can bet I'll find a reason to stop by Barnes & Noble. Even if I have no intentions of buying anything, there's just something about wandering around bookstores... They have a lot going on here--the Nook station, board games, children's area, cafe, music & movies, calendar, stationery, gifts, cafe, discount tables, new releases, and on and on and on. The truth is, I rarely buy new books anymore. Paperback Swap and libraries for the win. But I still do love coming here, and whenever I'm able to afford to treat myself, more often than not, that'll mean a trip here. read more

I used to really enjoy this place. It's all but a retail library with a stealth Starbucks inside of it. I could meet a friend inside, shop leisurely and unmolested through its high square footage store and enjoy buying small thoughtful gifts for my loved ones. I stopped going because I couldn't stop being aggressively upselled too. It was difficult to simply buy a small coffee. Rapid fire badgering up selling to a scone, a sandwich or larger size was frequently offered to me in desperation by the innocent barista who clearly was negatively conditioned not to let a a customer go with out buying more. It made me vitriolically upset to see some low level employee with no power terrified that I wouldn't buy a cookie. I couldn't roam the isles with out being offered a free sample from the cafe. Something which sounds ridiculous to be upset about but if you'd just like to be left alone to make your purchase becomes grating. I don't want to buy my books online but had to stop shopping here because I couldn't be left alone to peruse and make my purchases. read more

Was here yesterday and this is one of my favorite places to hang out! Most of you know Barnes & Nobel so I'll keep this brief. Their book selection is second to non and there are plenty of open spaces to relax and browse. The only thing I miss is the large CD collection they used to carry but I understand why they phased it out. Keep on reading and buying books people! read more

The slow and bumbling attempts to get me to sign up to your email list or a club member whatever were neither charming nor appreciated. When I said no the first time I don't understand why you would think I would change my mind two seconds later when you asked again. The only real complaint with this B&N is that there isn't a terrific amount of seating. It isn't an enormous store to begin with, but it still has a decent selection if you are looking for newer books and reprints of old ones. read more

Me and my friends often hang out here and get Starbucks and it's nice. One time in the mall I had had my purse stolen so I went inside to call the security. They came and were talking to me when some lady ( I don't know if she was the owner or manager or who she was) came up to us and asked what was going on, or more specifically said "who called security in my store.". I told her I had my purse stolen outside and she told me "the purse was stolen outside so go outside. Don't bring this into my store." It was pouring rain outside and freezing, yet she made me go outside just to tell the security what happened. We weren't even causing any sort of scene, just standing near the entrance. The selection has gone down and price up? Just signed up as a new member and was told there was 'no discount' available on Nook or Nook Color yet I received numerous emails, one today for new members and renewals for $25 and $10 off these devices. I never got my $50 worth of coupons either as a new member. Well bought my Nook Color without knowing about the $25 deal but won't be buying my books at B&N, I'm really ticked off. They don't about their own promotions even when you copy them back to them. LOL Google books has great ebooks as does the library (for free). I stick with Amazon Marketplace and Half Priced Books for my paperback and hardcover reading. I'm done with B&N. read more

They automatically renewed my membership without informing me and took $25 out of my Paypal account without my consent. I never filled out the paperwork when I was first pressured into getting an initial membership as it was done by the cashier. Never bought enough books to make the membership worth it. read more
