Our venue had tricky logistics and they handled them with ease. The night of went flawlessly and people have been raving about the food at our wedding all week. From the apps, the tuna tartare in the cones, the lobster salad on potato chips, the truffle arancini and the grilled cheese and tomato soup were the biggest hits. We had used another company in the past but after inquiring felt Party Host Helpers were more organized and straightforward. We hired them because we needed the service and were overwhelmed without the help. I received an automated email 2 days later saying our deposit was refunded but no apology or acknowledgement of how inconvenienced we were. I do not recommend risking it by hiring them. It doesn't seem like they are able to oversee or manage their staff properly.

I was really impressed with the number of hors d'oeuvres on offer, as well as the variety! We noshed on mini hamburgers, chicken on biscuits, baby cubans, some cheesy thing (I thought it was a quiche but my roommate said it was a quesadilla), and some kind of rice ball with dipping sauce. And the desserts! Whoa. Chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick, anyone? How about chocolate mousse cups? Chocolate chip cookies? Yes, please. I'm pretty sure they also brought the bartender, who served up some stiff drinks. These guys were professional, efficient, and made some seriously tasty food. Word.

From our initial meeting to the final event, everything was perfect! The food was amazing and not at all like some of the wedding fare I've had in the past. The food during our tasting was delicious and it was replicated exactly on our big day for about 200 guests. Definitely what a starving bride ordered :) Between the mini burgers Stilton jam, Parmesan crusted artichokes, prosciutto wrapped mozzarella, Carolina BBQ on a cornmeal cracker and ALL of our wonderful entrees (including a Gorgonzola stuffed chicken that was out of this world) I was definitely testing the limits of the strength of my corset! Walter was great to deal with throughout the process and I can't begin to describe how impressed I was at how Michelle and Walter paid attention to every detail I described for the big day. I had spent nearly 16 months preparing every detail and to leave it in someone else's hands for my wedding day was a difficult task. The reception hall, tables, candy bar etc. looked exactly like how I envisioned and I couldn't have been happier. They did an absolutely fantastic job. They also did a great job in dealing with a couple of wedding related hiccups, including our earlier than expected arrival to the wedding reception and the thunderstorms during our outdoor cocktail hour. The transition and how they dealt with everything was smooth and professional. EVERYTHING was taken care of. Fiona did a great job with the cake design and from going off just a few internet pictures of what I desired she hit the spot! The cake flavors were delicious and the design beautiful. In terms of cost, I met with 3 other caterers in the Boston and metro-west area and all were very similar in pricing, rental costs, etc. There wasn't anything that seemed out of line and they were very willing to work with me on the budget and food items were requested. Of course no good caterer is cheap and Chez Vous was a hit to the pocketbook, but it was expected and a very worthwhile expense. All in all just a fabulous experience with great, friendly, professional employees, fantastic food, an eye for detail, and genuine care towards your event. The day couldn't have turned out better

Megan Whithed from Tangorra Wedding Planning was our day-of coordinator for our May 30th wedding…read more Hiring a day-of coordinator was one of the best decisions we made during the planning process, and Tangorra Wedding Planning offers that service at a really great price. I first met with Megan months before our wedding and we had a couple of two-hour-long meetings before the week of our wedding, besides many emails and phone calls (she would even pick up her cell phone on her way to another client's reception to help me). We had already hired almost all our vendors, but Megan also helped me with DJ recommendations. The week before our wedding Megan did an amazing amount of behind-the-scenes work, coordinating a schedule with all our vendors, checking that no detail had been overlooked, and coordinating the drop-off of place cards and cake servers/toppers with me the day before the wedding. The big day came and....my husband and I enjoyed every minute of it! Most importantly, we didn't have to worry about anything, because Megan and her assistant made sure everything flowed smoothly and everyone was where they needed to be. All we had to think about was having fun and enjoying the beginning of our marriage. Tangorra Wedding Planning has a studio in the North End, in addition to Newburyport. I highly recommend hiring them, and the day-of package was budget-friendly, especially given how much it reduces wedding day stress!
