We get to the site after pushing a full cart(with a messed up wheel) to find a dozen fallen trees that haven't been clean up, and a bunch of dry old rotting brush on the site, and the fire pit is needing to be cleaned out(its full) Site needs maintenance, bad, was really looking forward to our stay, and now just kinda disappointed.

For me...the star attraction is the hike to HIGH FALLS!!! You can never have enough waterfalls and these High Falls were fantastic! I highly recommend everyone make the trek to High Falls and take some time to appreciate the beautiful backdrop. First off, Tettegouche SP is sort of a hidden little park. When I arrived here, the parking lot was small and it appeared that I fortunately got the last available spot. I visited back in June around 9am and the park and trailhead had filled up. I read at the entrance sign that the trail to High Falls was 1.5 miles each way taking roughly 2 hours. I was able to arrive at High Falls in a little over 1 hour each way with a quick pace. I found the hike to be relatively difficult especially starting out and towards the end. Leaving the trailhead I did have to climb up and over some rocks and cliff areas that I wasn't expecting to be so rugged. I'd say the elevation along the way was pretty elevated at times. When you do arrive near High Falls, there's a sign that states you have to step down 83 stairs to the base. But not to fret...it's all worth it. Upon making it to High Falls, I found the setting to be spectacular! It was a sunny, brisk and pleasant morning for the start of summer. Also, there was zero wind. I was able to climb on the rocks for some great looking photos of this 63 foot tall waterfall along the banks of the Baptism River. High Falls splashed down the cliffside and is sort of divided, making the appearance you're gazing out upon two unique looking waterfalls. Really, in total, it was a beautiful scene. If you don't mind taking your shoes off you can certainly step onto the waters for closer views up to High Falls. You can cross the river for different perspectives. I was really impressed with the surroundings at High Falls. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and as I always point out...I got fortunate with the sun being at my back and allowing for picturesque photo opportunities. On the side next to the trail you can climb safely up to the falls. For me, I was content getting a panoramic view from the riverside area. I simply took a seat on the rocks and had High Falls in plain clear sight for one grand magical moment. I hung out for 45 minutes. Eventually it filled up with hikers. For the time I was there though, I was appreciative for looking at such a pretty waterfall. Also at these High Falls, there was a sign for the Two Step Falls Access. I tried to decipher where this access lead towards but unfortunately I never discovered anything worthwhile. For those wanting more out of their time here you can connect to the Superior Hiking Trail. There were signs for it. Another worthwhile spot was Shovel Point. According to the entrance sign, if you follow the cliff line trail to Shovel Point, you're afforded views of the world's largest freshwater lake. Finally, you can also hike to Tettegouche Camp where you can reserve a cabin in advance and stay overnight in nature. Or it's mentioned that you can simply picnic in the lodge or canoe Mic Mac Lake. My experience here at Tettegouche State Park was fulfilling. Getting the chance to hike to High Falls for fantastic photo chances was memorable. I left feeling satisfied and grateful for taking a few hours out of my summer morning to visit. I highly recommend stopping here during your travels along North Shore Scenic Drive. I've become a waterfall enthusiast and believe if you make the 1.5 mile trek each way, you will not be disappointed with the sights and surroundings of this 5 star attraction.

I have never been dog sledding before but I wanted to do it before I got older. This was an…read moreamazing experience. We looked around and my wife found Positive Energy and we decided to book a weekend in Duluth so we could go dog sledding. We got all of our warm gear ready and headed out. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner and one of the dogs. Next we got a lesson on sleds and dog teams. Walking into the dog area we got to meet all of the dogs. Then we got to harness them and get them set on the rope of each sled. We learned a lot about dogs and the history of sledding the whole time were were there from the staff. They make sure you really understand everything and take the time to answer every question you have. We did the 3 hour tour and it was amazing!!! We got on the sleds as passengers and after about 25 min mine stopped and I got to drive. Wow was it fun, driving a dog sled on my own across a frozen lake. It was a lot more work than I expected but worth every second. After we were done sledding we helped get the dogs off of the sleds, they got treats and we helped get them back to each dogs house. I recommend Positive Energy to anyone wanting to try dogsledding. The staff and the dogs are amazing!

He also was helpful on giving us the most logical pricing options. About the location: this is located downtown inside the adventure zone building. You will need to find parking and most likely pay to park either on the street or the lot. Looks are deceiving. It looks small from the outside but there was plenty of wall and a back area for bouldering. There was also a seating area upstairs. Along with Ben, Anthony helped us get set and both were very patient and friendly with our group. We had many first time climbers and they both encouraged them and made them feel comfortable. Thank you so much for the amazing experience. Many of our youth said it was a highlight of the weekend.

this is the first time I have ever left a bad review. this means something to me…read more if you haven't been to the Duluth Climbing and Fitness check it out. 16 dollar day passes and a friendly group of truly experienced climbers who will introduce you to what climbing is really about. it's nothing like a soul bleached corporate washout of a gym such as VE. watch out for decrepid concrete and dust as well while your climbing. Ive been a climber for 8 years. I've bouldered and climbed all over Minnesota, Yosemite, Spain, Wyoming, Washington, Chugatch Range Alaska , New Zealand and many others places. Ive conducted myself in various risky situations to the best of my ability and returned unscathed with my party. More importantly to this review, the context of the facility, I've been as annual pass holding member at this business for at least 3-4 years. I've been tested out as a lead climber and top rope climber many times by both the facility in Duluth and St. Paul in accordance to their policy. After a long summer of running my own business handling many clients, I was extremely excited to go start working out for some trips south. Then encountered the most pathetic display of customer service. Manager punched me in with little conversation, pretty typical. After no pleasantries or introductions the employee, Brook Faye, tested my partner and I out for top rope certification as is VEs policy's. Despite showing a complete understanding and fluency in using my equipment and communicating with my partner; the employee ended up not passing me because I didn't not explain to "her standard " and answer to a broad question. I displayed and checked my equipment to her standard but she failed me for not vocally encompassing all her desired safety checks. I understand having policy . It's their job to keep people safe. I also believe that a trained professional should have contextual understanding of experience based on time in the sport and the business to see when a climber knows what they're doing and displays complete proficiency at their craft. this place use to be ran by climbers. now it's run by sterile expired college climber desk jockeys. piss off Vertical Endeavor what a waste of space. used to be packed on a Friday night, it was pretty scarce tonight. My body was beyond knotted up and I had a killer headache as a result. After reading many reviews obsessively, I landed on Muggymoose. I emailed late in the evening asking if I could be treated in the next few days. I couldn't believe it when I received an immediate response from the owner. She reached out to all of the therapists and she found one that could work me in the next morning! This gift from God was Bell. Bell took her time to go through my health history, my needs and what I was hoping to get out of our time together. Usually this gets a little annoying because I can see the clock ticking and knowing that this time was coming out of my allotted time on the table. Not with Bell! She still gave me my full time and even a bit more! The knowledge she has about anatomy and physiology is ridiculous. As well as her knowledge of Eastern massage practices and how to apply them. She is so amazing. She is also a great conversationalist IF that's what you want. The first time she chatted with me as I was sharing my stress and worries. She had great insight on how this stress was affecting my mind and body. The next time I saw her, I was in a much better place and we barely talked. I have had innumerable massages and that is a very rare experience. Either too chatty or awkwardly silent. Bell knows the perfect balance and shows yet again how intune she is with people. The space is amazing and you can feel your mind and body unwinding the moment you walk in. I am so grateful I was led to Muggymoose and especially Bell. Such a blessing and I can't wait to go back North!
