" N GATE " aka North Terminal is the best of the best @ SeaTac Airport. Totally upgraded during Covid19 epidemic and now this Death Star is fully operational now. After a gritty over crowded underground train ride the doors open and a mad rush of human waist head for the escalators. I'm included in that afterbirth of people but I'm special. I skip the shops and head for "THE LOUNGE"! Alaska Airlines has their premium lounge for people who pay to be pampered and of coarse I pay for that privilege... I enjoy the spectacular view of planes taking off while having unlimited tasty beverage ( sometimes alcohol ) and typically morning goodies. This refuge allows me to hide out from the scourge of humanity waiting for a plane to somewhere... Ok, there are plenty of dining and beverage places to wet your whistle including a Wendy's can you believe it... In fact grabbing a chili for my flight is a wonderful idea. It will keep the travel people away from me as I'll donate some of myTreblinka fumes into the ozone layer... Moving onto the shopping well many opportunity's to purchase candy or clothing and maybe even a silly souvenir of our local sports team. Enjoy your experience and have a wonderful flight! Gates N... Now I know the ways to get around Seattle-Tacoma and not to book flight in the early morning and why it's a great deal...the trains don't run so you must use your legs lol got my cardio for sure but impressed how we did it. The staff at the N gate for our connecting flights are so rude and condescending as I felt so insulted even as we tried to put our items in the overhead compartment they were very unsympathetic in fact the guest behind us was more helpful gives me the indication of not favoring to fly with Alaska. Even as they made announcements she highlight my crossbody bag needs to be stowed in the overhead bin since of our seating. With the price increase of extra for choosing your seat...extra for check in bags...extra for meals...extra for carry on bags it made perfect sense to upgrade our tickets though other than priority boarding and all the usual amenities it came with Alaska isn't as welcome as Hawaiian and it's a shame. No lounge access for flights under 2000 miles unless you're a member nothing gives me a reason to even earn miles for flights that doesn't feel rewarding...the service needs much improvement. read more

Date of visit: July 22, 2025 The concept of the different "pods" of gates to help control traffic (likely both people and planes!) is a nice one, but the biggest issue I have with it is that you are unable to walk everywhere you need to go and have to rely on the trams to get you where you need to be if you have a connecting flight. I wish all airports would let you stretch your legs and strut from one end of the terminals to the other, like Atlanta does. All that being said, SEA and the North Satellite Terminal are in overall good condition and the letter/numbering system is straightforward and easy to follow. Like most airports, stairs are an after-thought yet all of the escalators and aforementioned trams were in good condition. read more

Ever since this old girl was remodeled, it is now one of the top concourses in the entire airport! Literally before it was remodeled, it was so outdated it was embarrassing. Now it is completely spacious with vaulted ceilings, numerous food options, lounges on the above floors, and just ample space. They really did a good job! Seems like it's mostly Alaska flights coming out of here and one of Alaska's lounges is here as well. They definitely did a great job with the remodel and the artwork hanging from the ceiling is amazing! It's so fun to come up the escalators into this immense space. Definitely five stars! Looking forward to them doing the same with the South satellite terminal in the near future. read more

It is a clean terminal, and it is pretty easy to get to your gate. However, after two business trips this year to Seattle, I'm already getting kind of sick of this terminal. The North Satellite Terminal is also known as the N Concourse at Seattle-Tacoma (SeaTac) International Airport. The gates all start with the letter...you guessed it! N While I like how the terminal is small enough that you can get to your gate easily upon arrival, I don't like how the terminal is quite aloof from the main terminal. You can only get to the N Concourse by way of the SEA Underground, which is a train below ground level that can take you to and from the main airport terminal. It kind of feels like an island if the main terminal is considered the mainland of SeaTac airport. At this "island", there are a total of 20 gates. N1 thru N10 are on one side while N11 thru N20 are on the other side. In the middle is a food court, but there are also eateries on either end of the terminal albeit not a wide variety. Once you get off the escalators or stairs, you'll find yourself in the midst of this food court, which includes Beecher's Handmade Cheese, Wendy's, Tundra Taqueria, and Costa Coffee. From what I recall, Wendy's always had the longest lines, and I'm not sure why. Maybe they're priced cheaper than everything else, but since I didn't see for myself, I can't say for sure. Directly across from the food court, there are some boutiques to do some last minute shopping at, but on my last trip, half of those boutiques were closed when I went, which was late afternoon on a weekday. I don't know why they were closed so early, but it would have been nice to at least take a peek inside to see what they had in store. Unfortunately, I was not able to do so. On the lower numbered sides of the N Concourse, you'll see Pike and Pine by Hudson, Bad Egg Breakfast Bar, and SEA Roast Coffeehouse. I didn't get anything from the latter two, but I did get a couple of treats from Pike and Pine, which has a nice selection of goods and eats! It's a good place to get some souvenirs before your flight back home, but it's also only one of very few such shops at this terminal. On the higher numbered sides of the N Concourse, the eateries are Caffe D'arte, Skillet, and Bambuza. I've actually tried all three across both business trips, and I awarded no more than three stars to each of them. Skillet and Bambuza are still solid options, at least for airport food, if you find yourself hungry before your flight, but that pizza I got at Caffe D'arte was no bueno. Perhaps Caffe D'arte's sandwiches and pasta would have fared better, but I could care less at this point. I mentioned in my Caffe D'arte review that I dissuaded my co-worker from getting a bite, but what I didn't mention in that review is in that same conversation, she told me our gate number had changed from one side of the terminal to the other; we were then at the right side of the terminal, but the only reason I went to the opposite side was because I wanted to try the eateries there. Nothing on the menus for Bad Egg and SEA Roast Coffeehouse enticed me in that moment. Also, I wanted to take a walk lol. The walk from one end of the terminal to the other isn't a long one, however, but if they had changed our gate to a different terminal, then we would have had to take the SEA Underground again. Case in point, keep your eyes peeled for last minute gate changes. My phone told me that our flight was delayed, but didn't tell me our gate number had changed*, so that was quite the nuisance, though I'm sure I would have found out in the minutes leading up to boarding. There's also an Alaska Airlines Customer Service counter where you'll see about 5 different agents at the counter ready to help at a moment's notice. There's a New Stand, which is another souvenir shop like Pike and Pine by Hudson, but with different kinds of souvenirs. Overall, it's not a bad terminal to go to, but the lack of shop, dine, and relax options compared to the main terminal really makes me wish Alaska Airlines switches terminals with another airlines. The main point I wanted to put out there is if you're not interested in any of these options at the North Satellite Terminal, make a stop somewhere in the main terminal before boarding the SEA Underground. The wait for your flight here will feel longer than at any gate in the main terminal, but for what it's worth, at least it's much larger than the South Satellite terminal, which only has half as many gates. * After boarding the flight back home to SoCal, there was a passenger who got in the plane, but she was supposed to be on a flight to San Francisco instead. I don't know how she could have even boarded in the first place, but now that I typed that paragraph, I think the gate change played a role here. Even more of a reason to keep an eye on the gate number, especially if your flight gets delayed! read more

This place has def improved and love it. I do wish they had more fast food type options but whatever. Also if you have a pet or service animal- the animal bathroom down by the train is awesome and big. It doesn't have any privacy but plenty of room to sniff and pee. You do need a little extra time getting to this terminal. They also have the flights on Alaska to Hawaii out of N gate usually. They have a special spot for Covid paperwork / etc Def a nice new addition to SeaTac read more

As of now (November 2019), N Gates are going through renovations. The renovated part looks nice but the quality is worse than before in my option. The restaurants and shops look fancier than before. They even snuck in a "Vietnamese" restaurant to show cultural diversity. In any case, all these businesses, in the name of "Local Businesses," charge you premium prices. If they deliver high quality products, I don't mind paying a bit extra even on top of the inflated airport prices, but all the places I have tried so far (e.g., Caffé D'arte) are mediocre at best. I like SeaTac airport, but I don't like Terminal N. First and foremost, the selection of the restaurants is very poor! Starbucks, Burger King, a bagel place, etc. since it's far and you would have to take the train, it's annoying to go back to the main terminal for food. Check online what businesses are available before heading out here. The shop lists on the Port of Seattle is completely out of date (as of November 9, 2019). A nice place to relax while you are waiting for your flight . Decent food though not many vegetarin options but you can sit quietly attend your meetings . Very clean facility just an advice they should keep some paper cups for taking water or coffee to go. read more

We arrived on an Alaskan Airlines flight from Newark. Half of our party had to immediately go to the next gate over to board their flight while we waited. The terminal is very clean, pretty spacious, with food options. The Alaska lounge is just above the gates. read more

Did you know that Airport Terminals is now a category on Yelp? Now that this is a category, I am reviewing one of the two satellite terminals at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, the North Satellite terminal. The other terminal is the South Satellite of which most international flights depart from. The North Satellite terminal is completely occupied by Alaska Airlines. To reach the North Satellite, you need to take the people mover system to reach it. Make sure to take the right one as one heads in the other direction towards the South Satellite terminal. From the Central terminal, it is a two stop train ride to the North Satellite. If you need to make a connection from the North Satellite to the South Satellite, this would mean taking one train to the Central terminal and switching to the other train as the people mover trains only go back and forth. The food options at North Satellite is similar to what you would find at South Satellite which is to say that it is limited. There is a Burger King, Starbucks and a couple restaurants here. If you are looking for a bite at the airport, I would recommend finding something at the Central terminal since there are more options there than at this terminal. If you are looking to shop in this terminal, there are just a few options. But there is a duty free store here. While I have flown very little from this terminal, I have flown often out of the South Satellite terminal which has just about the same layout. My suggestions in flying out of this terminal is to bring something to eat or find something in the Central terminal before coming here. And to give yourself some extra time commuting to and from this terminal since you need to take the people mover system to reach it. read more

This terminal is very new and has a lot of great features to it. Now part of this terminal is still under construction but the finished area does look wonderful! Food: They have 3-4 food options in this terminal. It is a very small terminal at the moment, but the food options range from several different types of food. Bathrooms: So the bathrooms here are HUGE! They moved the guys bathroom closer to the train. This bathroom is very spacious and always clean! Lounges: There is a Alaska Airlines lounge upstairs in this terminal. Definitely check it out if you have the time! :) Overall this is a great terminal and I would love to spend more time in it when it's finished. read more

The North Satélite terminal is nice and clean and has shops and restaurants for last-minute needs. To get there, go through terminal D to get to the train. The train in the right hand side when you come down the stairs will take you directly to the N gates. The ride is pretty short and the trains come frequently, so it doesn't add too much time to get to your gate- maybe an additional 10 minutes to get to your gate. read more

My rating will be considered temporary since I am expecting great renovations that are necessary for this section of SeaTac. The good news is that the Alaska Air lounge remains a beautiful facility upstairs in the Mezzanine level. They need to upgrade all the restrooms and improve seating in all gate locations. Hoping new restaurants and shops will eventually move in. I like the North Terminal since it's away from the main access and gives a nice isolation from the hustle and bustle away from the C and D Terminals. read more

This is def the best terminal I've been in at seatac airport. It's super clean, seems much newer than the rest of the airport, has many coffee shops and restaurants all over that were open. Plenty of seating when i went. Even padded furniture, At least one good coffee shop open at 5am, a breast feeding station, and charging access in every seat. For having to wake up for a flight at 3:50am, I honestly couldn't be happier. Also, I'm not sure if this terminal has always been here, because it seems like there are a lot of new updates in the airport since I last flew out, but it appears there's a train now, rather than having to take busses to this terminal like I think you used to have to do. As large metropolitan airport hubs go, SeaTac is one of the country's best. Dominated by Alaska Airlines, SeaTac features excellent restaurants and a handful of nice-enough shops. Located steps away from security, in the center of the main concourse, the food court provides a wide variety of restaurants, food types and price ranges under a grand canopy that affords incredible views of the B and C terminals and the runways. TSA is friendly and surprisingly efficient for the number of passengers they handle and the airport itself is well-designed, especially given the fact that the current infrastructure was built in the mid-sixties. The airport is built around 6 terminals (A.B.C and D in the Main Concourse, plus the North and South Concourses). All three Concourses are connected by an efficient, automated, underground subway train system, making it less challenging to catch distant connecting flights once one learns their way around. That said, the sleek, mid-century modern design has saddled the airport with a grossly inadequate roadway infrastructure and insufficient parking to handle today's passenger traffic demands. The entrance to Arrivals, Departures and Short-Term Parking is also shared with taxi, limo and ride-sharing services like Uber, as well as, all of the long-term parking, rental car and (both on and off-site) shuttles serving the airport -- creating an unbelievable traffic bottleneck during busy time periods (especially during the holidays) that simply can't be resolved without tearing down the current parking structure. Excellent Light Rail and public transportation alternatives exist on the peripheral of this traffic nightmare, but require passengers to build significant additional walking time into their planning. read more

Sigh.. just really not a fan of this terminal and honestly my heart sinks whenever I look at my boarding pass and see that I'm flying out of N gates. It's so out of the way, you have to catch the tram and take it one stop before you can find this place. It really doesn't have that much in it, there's one Alaska lounge and about 4 different restaurants/fast food counters to choose from. If I have time to spare, I'll opt to get something to eat in the main terminal before I come here - I try to spend as little time as possible actually in this terminal. read more

I'm always a little disappointed when I find out that my flight arrives/departs from the N Gates -- the annoyance of the train is definitely a major part of it, but by virtue of its isolation, the North terminal is increasingly overflowing with passengers (stranded on an island terminal); everything is busy (bathrooms, restaurants, etc.). read more
