Clean bathrooms, entertaining decor and the service was terrific. Great variety of beers. And the food while just "dive bar food" according to the owner was both creative and excellent. We tried a variety of stuff and everything we tried was awesome. The owner Cale stopped by and had a decent conversation with us. Great guy shortly after his wife stopped by and couldn't be more friendly. I can't say enough about this place. If you're in the area, it's a must see! I was in the area for a couple of days and tried to go back the next day, but it was Wall the wall packed so we moved onto another place that didn't nearly live up to this one. I hope you get to stop in. I'm sure you'll enjoy!

They hit the spot! The sandwich was fine, the bread was fresh but the meat was too thick and had more fat on it than I would like. The server was very nice and prompt with refills and the place felt clean. I just felt like the experience was 'okay' and I don't know that I would head back there anytime soon when there is a lot more to explore downtown Cedar Rapids.

They do not toss their wings in sauce so you have to double dip/dunk to get the sauce and blue cheese in the same bite. Service was okay. The girl didn't introduce herself by name and the service was lack luster. Nothing special. The bar itself was nice. They did a great job decorating for St Pattys day. I'd go back out of convenience to the location of the hotel in staying but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'd stay away from the wings too...

We started with the Cigar box Smoked Old Fashioned; the presentation was dramatic (wished I'd recorded that)! Wonderful Smokey flavor! So many higher end restaurants tell us,"no, we don't smoke our Old Fashions";"(WHY NOT?!?!) I had the T Bone w/garlic/ herb butter sauce-done to perfection- Medium, over garlic mashed potatoes & asparagus & I ate every bite! Friend had the T Bone w/ chili instead & finish d all! My husband had Hibachi Bowl w/steak; eating every bit. A friend had the Chicken Tuscan Bowl- everything was delicious! Loved the ambiance & opportunity to wear a little dressy date night outfit! The surrounding tables were full. Our waitress, OLIVIA, was top notch & set us up with Key Lime Pie for dessert. We will be back!!!! Loved our experience!!!!

There's flavor combinations I wouldn't have thought of trying. The actual burger was good but not great. For a burger joint that charges a premium price, I expect a juicy burger. The meat quality had a few bits of gristle and it wasn't super juicy. It was a bit dry and cooked well done. The fries you could tell were just frozen fries. There's really only street parking or a public parking lot on the same street. However, the restaurant validate parking for the first hour, which is nice. Overall, this place was good but not great. I chose this restaurant to dine at with my family on the way back from a vacation, and I'm happy…read morethat I did! The chicken sandwich I had was, and I seldom use this word, 'LITERALLY', the BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH I HAVE EVER HAD. The breading was flavorful and the recipe was superb. There was home made Cole slaw on one side, and fresh cucumber cubes on the other side of the sandwich. I cannot stress how amazing this sandwich was! It has ruined all other chicken sandwiches for me, quite possibly forever. The French fries were also home made, and were curled in such a way I've never seen. These were not spiral cut. I cannot even describe them, other than to say they were prepared to perfection. Others had burgers and enjoyed them. Service from the male server was friendly and attentive. You couldn't ask for more--he was great! If you're in the neighborhood of this local Cedar Rapids favorite, take the opportunity to sample some out-of-this-world food!
