"We trusted Barney's in Weyerhaeuser, WI with pigs we raised all summer, and that trust was a…read moremistake. The cut sheet and pricing were mishandled from the start. It was not properly filled out when we were there, and after we complained, they sent a cut sheet completed after the fact to match their pricing and make themselves look right. The product quality was unacceptable--tasteless bacon, grey ham, ignored cut instructions, and "flavored" brats with barely any flavor. Others who raised pigs with us were given discounts and even free hams purchased elsewhere to smooth things over, while nothing was done to make things right with us. Instead, they claimed they "checked" their cameras and suggested trying a different brining method next time. There will be no next time. We will not return and strongly advise others to take their business elsewhere."

HOW IS THERE NOT A REVIEW OF THIS AMAZING MEAT MARKET YET????…read moreOkay - for real though, I love Barney's. Weyerhaeuser is a little town in the middle of nowhere, where if you blink you would miss it, but this little gem is tucked safely inside the main town area, right off highway 8. I have been coming to Barney's since I was a kid, and their quality has never wavered in all of my time on this Earth. Beef sticks, fresh jerky, any cut of meat you can think of, specially seasoned steaks, and all at a price that's reasonable. Whenever I cruise through the area, I make it a habit to stop in for some of their BBQ Beef Sticks, they are absolutely TO DIE FOR. Also - shout out to Barney's for their slogan: "nobody beats our meat." They have shirts for sale, and that alone warrants a trip!

Fair price , good food , friendly Service!…read moreProvides our customers and Community with a smile.

The Butcher Shop is a local gem that I nominate to receive a world heritage site designation. If…read moreyou've read my other reviews, you might note that I have a verifiable "thing" about old-school establishments and The Butcher Shop for me ticks all the old school boxes: glass cases displaying all on offer; butchering table a bit behind glass cases where meats are cut by these Rembrandts of protein; and succulent meats. Proper butchers greet you upon entering this Wisconsin shrine to meat and prepare to magnificent perfection the exact cut of meat you order. On this my first trip and after recovering my senses having been wowed by this little shop hidden in the woods, my particular friend and brother Bunky and I ordered porterhouse steaks (1 1/2" thick), 1"-thick boneless ribeye for the kids and for another day 1 1/2" center loin, boneless pork chops, and strips of double smoked bacon for the rotkohl to be served with pork chops. All meats will of course be grilled, steaks for 7 minutes on each side to yield charred, medium rare steaks. Oh, let me not forget to mention the smoked salmon that is so tasty and served as our biscuit for making the journey between lake cabin and The Butcher Shop. My particular friend and brother, Bunky enjoys a nearby lakeside cabin and will return as will I when next in Wisconsin. Oh, I will return, I will return and urge all who read this note to beat a direct path to the butcher shop whenever you find yourself in Wisconsin!

Was NOT what I expected. The bones had nothing on it. I paid about $40 for the two bones…read more I have not given my dog the second bone, it is still in its open package in a ziplock bag in my freezer. I pulled it out to show the comparison bone 1 how they looked when I received them, bone 2 after 2 weeks, and bone 3 is just a comparison to other companies and other bones (3rd bone is a pork femur). The pictures will show that they are NOT 8" and barely hitting that size. The images show: Bone 1: Image show the bones how they looked the day I received them. Bone 2: After 2 weeks. Bone 3: Just a comparison that this $2.00 bone has more meat than what I received on two bones; in addition, the 3rd bone is about 8", and a pork femur. I buy my dog Arya big bones because she is a big time chewer at 8 months and I believe she deserves a treat at least twice a week. The bison bones 1 and 2 are definitely NOT what is showing in the images the quality to me isn't worth it. These bison bones I got definitely had NO kind of meat on it, the web site states that it's roughly. 8" - 10", and it was neither. Furthermore, i'll stick with my Walmart, Amazon, and Feed store purchases on bones going forward. I will NOT be purchasing any product from this company. I feel that it is False advertising, corporation and deceptive tactics and practices.
