I love small town butchers and meat counters.....so much more fun to shop vs a big bland grocery…read morestore. There were two women working the counter and both were very friendly and helpful. I snagged a couple of beef sticks and brats. This place is king of the brats - so many to buy, and some interesting flavors. Be sure to stop here and get some fresh brats and grilling meats on your way up to your campsite or cottage!

We have traveled in our RV cross country several times and Wisconsin is one of our favorite states…read morebecause of all the butchers. This is my favorite for brats and cheese spread by far! The wild rice and cranberry brat is the best sausage- delicious- incredible- MUST TRY! Loved the jalapeño one as well as the traditional. We tried the port wine cheese spread and it only lasts a couple days bc it's so delicious and addicting! We bought 6 of them and a garlic and herb that we haven't tried yet- froze them upon advice of the woman who helped us and she is right! They freeze beautifully! Can't wait to drive through again with an empty freezer for holiday gifts and to stock up on great meats. I can't believe I didn't get any bacon! Our summer plans will definitely include a trip back- thank you so much for such great food! I will be placing an online order in the meantime! Will also be buying some for gifts - who wouldn't love brats and cheese spread?!!!! And bacon! You guys are amazing! It's also a super cute store!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Marieke Gouda! We stop here 3-5 times every summer on our…read moreway back from visiting my mother-in-law, and it's great for both adults and children. The cheese selections are incredible, and they always have a bunch of samples out so you can taste before you commit. The Truffle Gouda is my all-time favorite, with the reserve coming in at a close second place! Everywhere you look, there's food! The employees are friendly, and the service is quick. My kids always get ice cream when we are here, and they have to go visit the cows. There's a playground, a giant jumping pillow, and a track for tricycles. We've never eaten here, but we've taken meals to go plenty of times. We are never disappointed. The restaurant is always busy, and the atmosphere is always full of energy.

This review only relates to the cafe. We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday and the cafe only had a…read morecouple of other tables with guests so it was really quiet. The waitress wasn't overly friendly, but whatever; the worst part was not being given straws for huge glasses of soda, or utensils. The best part was the appetizer of deep fried mushrooms. The avocado chicken caesar salad was so-so, it was just that the chicken, cucumbers, croutons, etc., were bland and the caesar dressing was like pale ranch dressing (which was just super odd). The classic burger had a thin, dried out patty. We would not bother to stop again.

Ambling east or west on Hwy 29 near Owen/Withee, you will see this bright yellow cinderblock…read moreestablishment on the north side of 29. If you see it, and you like cheese, you're gonna want to pull in. This place is unassuming and nothing special per se, but you're here for cheese. This establishment has processed cheese, Cheese curds, jams/jellies, crackers, etc. The thing here that is awesome is their aged cheddar cheeses and from 10 to, I think, I saw a 20-year-old shard cheddar. All of these cheeses are very reasonably priced. Either way, I need about a couple of pounds of 12-year and some aged brick cheese. They were the best thing ever. I have this on my radar now. Whenever I go to Wausau or Stevens Point, I am hitting this place and stocking up on my cheese.

We just moved north of here but did t mind the 1.5 drive to get there. The cheese is very fresh and low priced. They also offer beef sticks and sausages. They do gift baskets and o line ordering but as any other place you're going to get the best price by driving there. The cheeses we did try were fresh and creamy. They included havarti (black olive, dill, caraway, aged Swiss, longhorn and cheddar. We also bought a sausage that was very tasty. They have a few gift items in the store too.
